Everything, Everywhere (A SYNC Thread)

That’s an oddly specific definition.

Its not, though, really; IF you’re playing fastro, you can still use SanSan to win off of a combination of beale and never advance; but this deck, if you lose 2 astros, you probably lose the game. That’s a no win scenario, and it will happen. I feel like with every other deck I’ve played, my deck doesn’t have an internal flaw that causes me to lose the game.

I won a game yesterday where the runner had two Astros, I had a 4pt Beale and gfi. Not going to happen every time, but it’s not impossible.

This deck plays a pretty good never- / single-advance remote game against Clot with Data Raven and gear-checks.

Single-advance could be GFI / Beale (which you Biotic for 3 points next turn) or 15 Minutes / QPM, and no-advance could be News Team / Jackson / Astro / Beale. You just have to drag them through a Raven as many times as possible.

I have been having super good luck with an influence package of 3 Traffic Accidents, 1 Scorch, and 2 Shi Kyus.

I like the kill option as well as scoring out with never advance astro trains.

I have been playing this on Jinteki a lot and with 3 of the best players in my country (Northern Ireland)
I am looking for some feed back. Do people think I am just getting lucky or is this solid.
It has game in all the ways you can imagine, you can just NBN for the win with the Astro train.
You can Scorch a player out.
You can score a large Beale.
With the addition of Big Brother you can tag you opponent with minimal money, and if they feel the need to just remove the tags it will be a massive drain on thei econ and you will get a good opportunity to draw up for the win.

How do you tag them? 24/7?

24/7, Gutenburg, DataRaven, Turnpike. but usually 24/7 into Big Brother.

The fact that tags cost 3 to remove is a great incentive not to get them but once they have them they stick.

I would add a Data Raven swapping a Big Brother.

I would love to say that would work but Data Raven very rarely gives the runner a tag. Gutenberg is just better at forcing a tag. The cost difference from 0 to 4 is also a big deal. this deck runs low to the ground with it credit total. The ability to Reclamation Order back 2 or 3 Big Brother from Archives is really god for setting up Pscycho or Scorch.

TL;DR the cost difference I feel is prohibitive. but Gutenberg I could get behind

I can see 24/7 giving tags, because they can’t prevent that. But honestly, how often does the runner end their turn with tags that they got from running? Most fairly competent runners will leave clicks left for removing tags at the end of their turn, especially against IDs whose entire purpose revolves around tagging the runner.

That’s still a win for you as corp with Sync, though I would add SanSan City Grid to provide an alternate win condition.

Yes the runner spending 3 money to remove a tag during their turn is great but I would love them to not so I can end the game faster.

This would be nice but what do you suggest comes out to be replaced with the SanSan

It is just the best way to tag the runner, SEA Source and Mid Seasons needs far too much money to pull off.

I would take out x2 Big Brother and x1 Lily Lockwell. Big Brother is very conditional. Your ideal case is they don’t clear tags from News Team etc. and they go tagme in which case Big Brother is useless. If you 24/7 BN, you need two scored agendas, one of which is BN. This isn’t the most consistent thing in the world and Big Brother doesn’t really add much.

That’s been my (albeit limited) experience with Sync. You dedicate a lot of deck space to stuff that tags the runner because it syncs (ha) well with your ID ability. Finally you land a tag or two. Now what? If they don’t have any mitigation for Scorched you win, if they do, now a lot of your deck doesn’t do anything. Data Raven, Gutenberg, Big Brother, News Team, 24/7 are all useless. Maybe they help you get out a Big Beale but they can always just pillage R&D until they win. My gut feeling is that this type of play is probably better out of Haarp since you don’t lose so hard on R&D. There might be promise in Sync for a deck that uses NAPD/Ash/Etc. and closed accounts to keep the runner super poor. I don’t think tag punishment is Sync’s strong game, ironically, since runners are so loathe to take the expensive tags.

With x2 Psychographics, x3 Scorch with plenty of recursion, and x1 Closed Accounts, I think this deck should be able to close out against a runner going tagme.

you would be surprised how consistently you can score a BN and any other agenda. So playing 24/7 is really easy.Big Brother is what allows you to Psychographics. with out the Big Brothers then the Psychos are nearly useless

If you think that way when you play scorch you will never win. you need to be positive and scorch them 6 times.

Archangel over R&D is very good and preventing people running too often with RDI or Medium. but not impossible obviously.

Why would you want to run NAPD or Ash? surely you play to your IDs positives. and for SYNC it’s tags. I do not like playing 4/2s when you can’t really make a solid server to protect it. but obviously closed accounts can give you that window.

I realise runner do not want to take the tags but you force them to have them with 24/7 and Big Brother. they then have a choice to make. clear the tags which is not cheap and very time consuming. or force their way into servers to win. Both of these options are fine by me. They will be broke or vulnerable.

That’s the thing, Sync doesn’t make tagging easier, it just puts a greater economic burden on a runner who wants to ditch them and makes it easier to trash resources. To me that mean your best option is to fork the runner, they either remove the tags and bankrupt themselves, or you do it for them. Then you play cards that take advantage of a poor runner.
