I just LOVE the effect and flavour of this card. It’s exactly what it wants to be; an annoyance. It will never be more than that, but it will be terribly annoying.

Thanks! When I was designing this card, I was thinking, “what’s the only thing worse than Pop-Up-Windows? Spam.”

Because it’s wrong that best killer for a faction that is supposed to be good at killers is mimic + datasucker.

Three Corp Minifactions; much like the runner minifactions I tried to explore themes that the main factions touch on but don’t really ‘own’. To give them enough agendas in only 7 in-faction cards they each have an affinity with an agenda subtype. Tried to go for ID abilities that are concise and powerful but allow lot of different ways you could potentially exploit them.

Melange Mining Corporation

Corp (Melange) 45/22
You can use up to 6 expansion agendas from all factions in this deck.
Once per turn on your turn you may spend any hosted power counters instead of [click]’s to pay for the activated ability of an asset.

The melange theme arose from wanting them to combo with the melange mining card and the idea of He3 extraction. Hence they are all about power counters and have a heavy industrial/brutalist theme. Care had to be taken with wording so they can’t easily abuse power counter ice. Their scoring plan is probably via glacier as they can make a heck of a big server.

Regolith Separator
Agenda (Melange) 4/2 - Facility
At the beginning of your turn put a power counter on a rezzed asset.

Kola-8
Agenda (Melange) 3/1 - Expansion
When you score Kola-8 put 2 power counters on it.
Hosted power counter; prevent a card from being trashed.

Power Node
Asset (Melange) 2c 2inf 5 trash - Facility
The first time each turn a power counter is placed on one of your face-up cards, gain 1c.
[Trash]; Move a power counter from one of your face-up cards to another of your face-up cards.

Workforce Motivation
Asset (Melange) 3c 4inf 3 trash - Facility
When you rez Workforce Motivation, place 4 power counters on it.
2 hosted power counters; install a card from HQ ignoring all costs and gain 1 bad publicity. Use this ability only on your turn.

Tartarus Grid
Upgrade (Melange) 4c 2inf 1 trash - Region
Agendas accessed from this server cannot be stolen and assets accessed from this server cannot be trashed. This applies even during the run on which the Runner trashes Tartarus Grid.
Increase the trash cost of Tartarus Grid by 2 for each other card installed in this server.
Limit 1 region per server.

Trenchworks
Ice (Melange) 4c 2inf 2 Strength - Barrier
Ice protecting this server in positions outwards from Trenchworks gain +2 strength
└>End the run

Golem
Ice (Melange) 4c 2inf 8 Strength - Barrier
└>The corp may spend any hosted power counter to end the run
└>The corp may spend any hosted power counter to end the run
└>Place a power counter on Golem

Globalsec

Corp (Globalsec) 45/22
You can use up to 6 security agendas from all factions in this deck.
Forfeit an agenda; ignore additional costs and play conditions of Grey Ops for the rest of this turn.

The theming for Globalsec came from the inverse of Sunny (note they have three really good ice that are really bad against Sunny) and the New Angeles release. They aren’t the killers that argus are, but they are the best at doing the job of grey ops - getting things done when no one else can. Their in faction cards are about watching and learning from the runner. Their scoring plan is to use their cards and grey ops to force scoring windows, with the alternative plans for meat damage kill.

A Reputation Upheld
Agenda (Globalsec) 2/1
A Reputation Upheld can only be scored if the runner made no successful runs on their last turn.

Escrow Vault
Agenda (Globalsec) 5/3 - Security
When Escrow Vault is stolen, put 5 power counters on it.
Escrow Vault is worth no agenda points if it has power counter on it while in the Runner’s score area.
Whilst Escrow Vault is in the runner’s score area, the runner may pay [click][click] to remove power counters from Escrow Vault equal to their unused MU.

Lessons Learned
Operation (Globalsec) 1c 4inf - Grey Ops
Play only if the runner made a successful run on their last turn.
Until the end of their next turn, the runner must pay Xc as an additional cost to initiate a run, where X is the number of tags the runner has plus 2.

Tail
Operation (Globalsec) 1c 2inf - Grey Ops - Current
This card is not trashed until another current is played or an agenda is stolen.
When you play Tail choose one of the runners installed cards. Whenever the runner uses a triggered ability of the chosen card, trash Tail and give the runner three tags.

GS Pinkerton
Ice (Globalsec) 4c 2inf 4 Strength - Sentry Tracer
└>Until end of turn, whenever the runner initiates a run he or she immediately encounters GS Pinkerton.
└>Until end of turn, whenever the runner accesses an agenda he or she immediately encounters GS Pinkerton.
└>trace4: If successful give the runner 1 tag.

GS Pulsar (Unique)
Ice (Globalsec) 6c 3inf 7 Strength - Code Gate Tracer
The runners memory limit is reduced by 1.
└>trace4: If successful the Runner cannot use programs for the remainder of this run.
└>trace4: If successful the Runner cannot use programs for the remainder of this run.

GS Authenticator
Ice (Globalsec) 2c 1inf 1 strength - Barrier
If the runner made a successful run on HQ this turn, they may pay 0c to break subroutines on Authenticator.
└>End the run.
└>End the run.
└>End the run.

CyberSolutions

Corp (CyberSolutions) 40/22
You can use up to 3 different initiative agendas from any faction in this deck.
The advancement requirement of the first agenda you score each game is reduced by 2.

CyberSolutions is about the rush (lol) of invention that the stolid main corps don’t really show. They come up with an idea and try to ride it as fast as they can, with many cards that have diminishing returns as the game goes on. This is the faction for thinking up and using weird agenda combos. The potential for boring FA shenanigans is balanced by only having 1 in faction ice, and needing to play merger if it wants more than a single 3/2.

Showcase
Agenda (CyberSolutions) 6/2
Reduce the advancement requirement of Showcase by 1 for each agenda with a different name in your score area, to a minimum of 2.

The Bleeding Edge
Agenda (CyberSolutions) 3/1
When The Bleeding Edge is scored you may reveal a agenda from HQ. The Bleeding Edge gains the text of that agenda in addition to its other text (including when scored abilities).
At the end of your turn either trash a card from HQ or forfeit The Bleeding Edge.

Rapid Prototyper (Unique)
Asset (Cybersolutions) 0c 3inf 5 trash
Whenever you draw an non-executive non-character asset, you may reveal it and have Rapid Prototyper gain the text of that asset in addition this ability (losing previously gained text).

The Incubator (Unique)
Upgrade (CyberSolutions) 1c 1inf 4 trash - Facility
Whenever a card is installed in this server, you may draw a card or gain 1c.

Sprint
Operation (CyberSolutions) 3c 5inf
Put an agenda counter on a scored agenda, then put another agenda counter on that agenda if you haven’t played a copy of Sprint previously this game. Then remove Sprint from the game.
Trash 1

Venture Capital
Operation (CyberSolutions) Xc 3inf - Transaction
X is equal to 1 plus the number of agenda points in both players’ score areas.
Choose three in any order (you may choose the same option more than once):

  • Gain 2c
  • Draw 2 cards
  • Lose 1 bad publicity
  • Play an operation from HQ (paying all costs)

Wagyl
Ice (CyberSolutions) 2c 2inf 3 Strength - Barrier Code Gate Sentry
When the runner encounters Wagyl you may pay Xc to have Wagyl lose X ice subtypes of your choice until the end of the encounter. If X is 3 or greater, trash Wagyl at the end of turn.
└>The corp may draw a card.
└>End the run.

Melange Corporation plus Docklands Crackdown will be my jank. All of these look really neat! I like the tie in with New Angeles.

Astroscript/Nisei mk. II in Cybersolutions with Sprint, giving up to 5 astro/ 8 nisei counters a game. Then 3 biotic, SSCG and some money and decent gear check ice. With bleeding edge, it gets even more!

Secret plans
Neutral - 0 inf
Operation - 4c
Play only if the Runner made no run last turn.
Rez an ice at no cost.

The wording on CyberSolutions is ‘different’ initiatives so you can only have the one Nisei Mk 2.

And yes that’s the whole point of CyberSolutions :). The hard part is meant to be getting and protecting those combos in hand, and then translating that into a win when you have limited access to 3/2s and ice.

Maybe Sprint should have a trash cost though ;).

Some Corp Currents to increase the current-counterplay?

Efficiency Refined 2$
HB Operation - Current
-Current fluff-
The first time each turn you install a card each turn, you may install a card from HQ (ignoring all costs).
"We never stop improving."
3inf

Reinforcing HB as the “Fortress” faction with all the ICE, as well as increasing their click efficiency.

Constructing Life 3$
Jinteki Operation - Current
-Current fluff-
The first time each turn the runner accesses an Ambush each turn, he or she must reveal it and trash 1 installed Resource.
"We build the population."
3inf

Making Jinteki the ultimate punishers. Bringing them back to their roots of griefing runners who dare intrude on their plans.

All you need to know 2$
NBN Operation -Current
-Current fluff-
Whenever there is a successful run on R&D, look at the top 2 cards of R&D. You may put any number of them on the bottom of R&D in any order.
"We own the truth."
2inf

NBN is about controlling the flow of information; now they can control what information the runner will be served.

Empire Allmighty 3$
Weyland Operation - Current
-Current fluff-
If the runner would steal an agenda, you may trash Empire Allmighty to prevent that agenda from being stolen. If you do, do Meat damage equal to that agenda’s agenda points.
“We make the world turn.”

Meat damage! Big agendas! Repercussions for messing with the largest corp of them all! Let’s slow-score Government Takeover!

Haha, those are wild. Insanely broken, but they are ALL broken. That is to say, it’s better than only 1 or 2 being good like in the actual meta.

I was thinking about currents, Rumor Mill specifically.

Weyland upgrade
3 rez 1 inf

When you rez this upgrade, you may play a current from HQ or archives (paying it’s play cost).

All ice gets 1 str. Agendas cost an additional 1 credit to steal. It costs 1 credit or click to make the first run a turn.

That Weyland current is quite fair I would say, and has counter play with Film Critic. Nice ideas, all of them. Their power comes with steep credit costs.

I like that Weyland current as well, but the meat damage seems like too much, especially with Prisec around. I would suggest instead of the meat damage, “Shuffle that agenda into r & d”

Sol would love it

Some ideas for more protective 5 for 3 agendas:

HB:
Big Brain
Agenda 5/3
As an additional cost for the runner to steal Big Brain they must spend :click: :click:.

Fires from everywhere (unlike The Future Perfect) but the cost somewhat increases over time. Early game when the runner can make click 1 or 2 runs on centrals it’s not such a hassle to steal this. Late game when the runner has to prep for a run on a big remote (take credits off Kati and install something, for example) it becomes much more onerous. Works nicely with bioroids.

NBN
Money Sink
Agenda 5/3
When the runner accesses Money Sink they lose half the credits in their credit pool (rounded down).

Somewhat the opposite vein of the HB one. Late game this ability won’t prevent the steal at all (but I made it an on access effect rather than a cost to steal so that it could synergize with cards like Red Herrings or Predictive Algorithm). However early game this can be very scary leading directly into a devastating Midseasons or Hard Hitting News.

Weyland
Back Tracker
Agenda 5/3
While this agenda is in the runner’s score area the runner is tagged.

I thought about adding a “the runner may opt to not steal this agenda” clause, but nah, Weyland needs some good stuff. Like the NBN agenda it won’t prevent the final point steal but you can slap this down naked and just dare the runner to go tag-me.

Love it, but I’d make Back Tracker a Public agenda. After all, Weyland wouldn’t be shy about crowing to the public about its dedicated criminal-tracking software that’s Keeping Your Family Safe™.

The experience our teams have with blood splatter…analysis…makes them in high demand with the NAPD crime scene techs.

Couple of Weyland barriers that aren’t just variations on boring.

Bricklayer
Weyland ●●○○○
ICE - Barrier
4c, 2str
When the runner encounters Bricklayer, place an advancement token on a piece of ice.
└>End the run.

Not all that big of an impact on its own, but will snowball the rest of the faction’s protection as the game goes on.

Black Wall
Weyland ●●●○○
ICE - Barrier
5c, 2str
While you have more credits than the Runner, Black Wall gains 4str and 2 └>End the run. subroutines
└>End the run.

Something to leverage Weyland’s big money into more than just fear. Was considering doing something more akin to Beth (Adding str/subs based on your credits) to avoid a new style of money war, but this was the original idea.
