Official Tournament Winning Decklists Page

Six if you hit the one-of Dyson, sure. I get that most of the programs are there to be installed at the Sahasrara house discount and then pawned ;). I just think the program : MU source ratio is humorously high!

It’s pretty awesome. Think of it as the Sundew for Gagarin. 3 to trash at least. It’s great when you get The Root online and use it to rez the Diagnostics. The game starts to spiral out of control because the runner needs to deal with Root and the money and doesn’t have enough cash of his/her own. And then there’s ITD, which seals games away, if needed. The deck offers the runner an ultimatum: trash these things that will win me the game, or just lose.

I know, I love it! We were freaking out when he went undefeated in top 8 until the finals. I was doing very well early on and dropped to 6th after Swiss and Pandapersona was 8th, then the tables flipped and I ended up 4th  It was a great tournament.

Edit: oh, and I think you meant the 1-off Akamatsu

Yes, Whizzard finally joins the ranks, though he had to be pretty friggin lucky to get there. The deck has a history of being an anti-BlueSun deck with an anti-everything-else ID, using test runs, scavenges, and retrieval runs to recur multiple D4v1ds and get Torch out on the cheap. It had cutlery rather than parasites for ICE destruction.

Needless to say, that build did exceedingly well against Blue Sun and Titan, but the match-up against NEH was so horrible (damn those quandaries) I moved to a classic anarch rig with parasites, suckers, and clone chips. The astute reader will note that the list shares many similarities with Whatever-Ass MaxX. It plays inject and less economy than MaxX, as the Whiz himself is a pretty sweet source of credits.

It defeated Grail RP (barely) and HB ETF (handily), but against NEH it only managed 50%, and the 50% it won felt more like luck than anything else. But then, that’s usually what winning vs NEH feels like: you need to play well, and be lucky. Annoyingly, I didn’t face Blue Sun or Titan all day.

@Calimsha played an Ordinary-Bum MaxX list at this tournament, and after facing it I would recommend it over this, but if you want to give the Whiz a go just for style points, this is the deck for you.

If I would change anything about this deck, I would probably find room for Spooned or Knight, as Lotus Fields made me knock my head into the table several times during the day.

I love this deck to bits. Here’s the gameplan: rez ICE, get money, score agendas, get more ICE. Optional side-activities include kicking careless runners in the balls with Grail ICE, or locking them out with IT Department.

Crisium Grid was a last minute include over other, shittier hate cards (swordsman and bootcamp) and even though I didn’t face any Keyhole decks, it saved my ass at least once against a criminal. IT Department got me one lockout win, and was a great money sink for the runner every other time. It’s like the purple SanSan: when faced with it, the runner has 2 options, and both are miserable (unless they’re Whizzard :kissing_smiling_eyes:).

It only lost 2 games the whole day, both to @Calimsha’s Normal-Butt MaxX (once in Swiss, once in the first top 4 game). It did beat it in the Grand Finals, after I read his mind, installed a naked Beta Test on turn one, which he then Queen’s Gambited. Best. Beta Test. Ever.

Did you fire the Beta Test?

Yes, and I had a Jackson in hand ready to install. Got 2 ICE out of it. It should be noted that this deck, with 21 ICE, almost always wants to fire its early Beta Tests. That’s part of what makes it so fun!

This year, FFG instructed all stores to run elimination cuts following Swiss rounds for Store Championships unless the event had 8 or fewer players. You can view the information sheet that tournament organizers and store owners received here.

I admit that I was rooting for @xavi to take it down with Kim and NEXT (well, once I finished outside the cut), but still, congrats on the win and great play!

For you or anyone else who might want to watch the games, they’re at Twitch under past broadcasts.

I have a tournament recap written on my home store forums. I was going to repost it, but wasn’t sure if I should put it here, or in a new thread?

Interesting, so there officially should have been a cut. I am not surprised as 42 seems like a pretty big turnout to not have elims at the end.

I don’t follow tournament organization, so I had no idea. I assumed it was up to the organizer when he announced at the beginning that there wasn’t going to be a cut. I will ask him about it at the next monthly tournament.

No cut was a blessing. I despise playing more than 7 rounds. It just feels silly to play a tournament for the right to go and play a new tournament immediately after.

This weekend past we had our biggest store championship yet in Ireland, with 24 wonderful people gathering to compete for the trophy. The winner was the gentlemanly Raymond Rowan, who was as humble in meatspace, as we was focused on murdering every single runner daring to step in the Net. Below are the decklists that struggled a bit in the swiss, but then got a zen-like focus to take out everyone in the double elims.

Interesting choice to drop a desperado for Alyson mem chip. I strongly considered the same thing after frequently being at mem limit and still wanting to install.

How did it work for you?
