Ugh sorry. I was at the end of a night shift and missed the sarcasm.
Spooned to counter Lotus Field or Turing, Imp for HQ pressure, and Anarch’s things.
With mediocre breaking efficiency, maximizing ice destruction is necessary in my opinion.

Faust has some decent synergy with Retrieval run. You can ditch that Femme, Morningstar, etc. during the retrieval run itself. Also could help with mid-run installs with Clone Chip.
@Chill84 mentioned Exile, and that shows decent synergy as well, since you want to use your heap as a second hand anyway. Lord knows how janky that could be, though.
darwin is actually good in hivemind combo decks now, but that wouldn’t really work with faust. I think we’re looking at a backup breaker, had this been released earlier it would have been great for lotus field.
I think Val is a good fit for Faust, going to to try this out today at some point. Unless they clear the BP you get 1 sub broken for free with an e3 installed.
Blackmail + Faust means you can remote lock super early, earlier i think than Val with reg breakers. Wyldside feeds Faust, i was tempted to also go for 2x QT’s if im honest.
I think any deck with Faust as the primary breaker needs datasucker, i also like ice carver but thats a personal taste thing, those two cards combine with e3 to mitigate some of the bigger costs that Faust can incur. Speaking of big costs, knifed i think is going to be MVP against Blue Sun where parasite wont do any work against larger barriers.
Though you may have to dig for it, mimic is in there because fuck ditching 3 cards every time you need to pass an architect, and swordsman ruins your day.
Your gonna need that levy.

Faust wont work against Turing, so the best targets for spooned will be lotus field and tollbooth.
I originally had this in Val, and switched to Quetzal after a few games. Wraparound is far more common a concern than any other problem ice. Architect costing a card, a credit, and a datasucker is really sustainable most games. I agree that blackmail is super strong on a deck like this, and I think it’s perfectly viable to run this out of Val, but I’ve been finding the Quetzal/David/Faust/E3 combo a little too synergistic to not play.
Tempted to go with Faust over NRE as Lotus Field solution in MaxX specifically - plays much better into both her strengths and her particular game plan, non?
Your probably right and maybe Quetzal is a better fit, I agree wrap is problematic, however i also think knifed is a good answer, it may be correct to include 2x knifed.
I’m trying a very similar decklist as @MasterAir but cutting the Daily Casts as well as 1x Chronotype and 1x I’ve Had Worse for 2x Grimoire, 1x Medium.

my first impression is to look at it as an alternative stimhack. You create the illusion of a scoring window with it.
pretty good card for making use of dead cards as well. You can throw it in as a way to save credits when you’ve got a dupe-heavy deck.
Doesn’t seem good as a key component for a deck without a good quantity of high-impact run events.
After finally getting to play a fair bit of games with the deck, I’m absolutely in love with it. I ended up swapping a Stimhack for Knifed, and the Ice Carver for Same Old Thing because not being to use D4v1d on Tollbooth sucked, but mainly because I’m a bitch and wanted to make sure I still got to Levy in case it got Peddled. While that’s significantly worse than Deja Vu since your only real targets are Knifed and the obvious Levy, you can still install it off of Peddler if things go to shit, while if Deja Vu also gets trashed you’re just screwed again.
I definitely feel like I should have been going faster with the deck, but that might have been because most of the games involved an early Wyldside and no Pancakes for 5+ turns. You can still function with 3 clicks just like any other deck that plays it, but the Corp can just take advantage if it takes too long to find it. Can’t really change anything about it though; it’s too integral to the deck and there’s definitely no suitable alternative.
There were games where 1 Grimoire made me never find it, and there were games where having 2 was too many. Knifed occasionally worked, but for some reason they wouldn’t rez any barriers once I had E3 out; works for me, I’ll take the accesses. The only card I really want to add is Spooned, because fuck Lotus Field. There’s no good answer other than just discarding two cards, but maybe that’s fine when everything else is easier to break.
Really glad you like the deck. I’ve been playing a lot with it. So far, I’ve found the 1x Grimoire to be just about the right number. Earthrise is a card that I’ve installed maybe twice over the course of 15-18 games? I’ve cut them entirely, since Peddler lets you get Pfannkuchen in play so much quicker, it’s almost never needed. I’ve yet to run into an issue with Levy being gone, but I did put a SoT in just in case, it’s a reasonable concern. My losses to NEH have mainly come when I hit Wyldside early, but no Chronotype, so the other Earthrise became a 3rd Chronotype. I can see replacing Stimhack with Knifed or Spooned, but I generally get good value out of Stim between clone chip and Peddlers, and like you said, people just give up on barriers entirely against this deck so far. Here’s where I am now:

Mimic came in because the main taxing ice that does work against this deck is architect, so if they start stacking on R&D you can fetch him. I’m also curious if a copy of Public Sympathy might be worth a slot somewhere, since some turns you end up discarding because you aren’t running and are just clicking Liberated/Kati, it can increase the overall value of those turns if you can keep extra cards. I’m also working on an alternate version with more events (IHW, Knifed, Spooned, Immolation Script, Wanton) but no Peddler (frown). No idea which is better.
Great news is that NEH is a very winnable matchup, and most HB and Blue Sun builds are absolutely terrible against this.
I’m looking forward to experimenting with Faust and Nasir. If they pull out a 0 cost ice to drain pool, it seems like a decent backup to get through no matter what.
Oh yeah, e3.
Derrrr
I’ve been playing a very similar deck myself. An Earthrise or two gets installed against some of the more intense glacier decks, if and only if I think I’ll burn through 4+ cards on my next turn’s runs. Considered dropping to 1-2 myself; it’s a nice way to step on the gas. It also saved my ass once or twice when Wyldside just didn’t wanna show. Most cases I agree: I’d rather keep the 4 credits so I can hammer away and not be bothered to spend clicks on setting up cash.
I hear you about the overdraw discards, I’m pretty sure I tossed at least 3-5+ cards each game from it. Overall though, it didn’t feel like a big deal. The deck puts itself under a lot of click pressure. Silly as it sounds, I don’t know if I could be arsed to even play the Public Sympathy, with all of the other things you need to be doing.
Also, is Architect really all that bad? A sucker, a credit, and a card isn’t awful. I did get caught out once with a Swordsman today, but was able to win anyway by blowing up ETRs and beating R&D like it owed me money.
As much as I like the Stimhack idea, I’ve yet to ever see Liberated-on-Peddler collide with the Stimhack in hand. My other stamhork opportunities were lackluster. Considering cutting it. I tested with 2 parasite, 1 knifed. A number of people I played today tried to get cute and stack barriers, and Knifed did its job. Still: could live without it. 3 Parasite still looks correct.
I’ve considered taking the deck as is and simply adding 3 IHW or replacing Earthrise with them. Like you said, it might mess with Peddler. But Killteki is unreasonably popular here .
Love Peddler to death already, so I’ll probably stick with it. That said, with only two career fair and way too many targets, liberated account feels a little clunkier than it should. Immolation Script and Wanton are what I’m eying most, just to diversify those threats a little.
This deck is a blast to play, but a pain in the ass to tune.
If/when they purge, Architect on R&D becomes extremely annoying to get through. Multiples get real bad, real fast. Sure, you can just go into another server to get the Datasuckers back, but Mimic just takes you right back to their deck, saving you extra effort. It also deals with that Swordsman issue; I’ve still never seen the card played since O&C dropped and Eater made the sky fall, but it’s good to know it’s still out there.
Wanton might be nice, but I’d only play Immolation Script if I played Knifed and/or Spooned, and ever since I swapped out the 2 Earthrise the list got extremely tight. Speaking of that, I swapped the Knifed for Spooned just out of my absolute hatred of discarding two cards for Lotus Field, with no alternative. It’s probably an overreaction, but I won’t know until I play it. I never played with Stimhack, but the only thing I ever actually wanted to do is Peddle a Liberated Account, and while that’s good, I want it to do more that just that and pay for NAPD.
With all the peddler, clone chip,Faust trashing cards in hand, I can’t understand why people saying stimhack is not good.
My game with it, I installed two peddler, one has Faust, the other has DailyCast,
Stimhacking into R&D, pulling out Faust, use it to trash Medium in my hand, then clone chipped Medium out and take out Daily cast as well. really sweet.
It may be misplay on my part, then. Believe me, those are the kinds of plays I’ve been looking for! I must be getting too greedy with the peddlers and not leaving them out to accumulate. By the time I drew into the Stimhack, the best play was usually something like “Stimhack R&D, install daily casts, clone chip parasite if they rez, feel silly if they don’t: 5c value with a low probability of feeling sexy if you hit an NAPD”
Not wanting to lose cards to overdraw during recovery turns, I wimped out and didn’t use it. Might have been different if I drew it earlier in any of my games. You’ve convinced me to keep it in for further testing.
yeah I only tried this deck twice, one game as above, the other i have liberated on peddler. But I won as I stimhacked into the scoring server, so I didn’t even get the chance to get liberated out.
I agree. if your stimhack shows up late then it won’t be as effective as in other deck where you need to pay credits to get in a 3-ice server =)
But I feel like this deck has strength in late game but not as many early on. The set up time takes longer than i thought even with pancake+wyldside combo turn one. So stimhack can definitely help you to speed up if you see it early, and later you probably just don’t care.
