No more squinting, here is video: GenCon 2013 - Netrunner LCG - Opening Moves Data Pack Unboxing - YouTube

Hmm, interesting stuff. I’m so psyched about bad pub becoming a real game mechanic. The NEXT ice seems pretty cool… am I crazy or is there no new identity in this pack?

Celebrity Gift is really interesting, I may have to try PE again after this pack.

DEAR HOLY GOD!!!

John Masanori [2 cost] (neutral > resource > connection)

The first time you make a successful run each turn, draw a card. The
first time you make an unsuccessful run each turn, take a tag.

On top of this, man, Jackson Howard is so SICK for NBN and easily splashable elsewhere for just 1 influence. Helps protect against Noise a bit but also really nice because of combo enabling card acceleration.

Himitsu Bako 2 cost 2 strength barrier Jinteki ICE is cool too, as it can survive things like being Parasited, or trash Caïssa programs on it (if I’m understanding what they read in the video correctly).

Finally, Celebrity Gift gives Jinteki some money and Hostage makes runners more consistent (and opens up being able to rely on things like Professional Contacts). Oh damn, and let’s not forget Grim: 5 cost 5 str sentry that trashes programs…!

The Jinteki ice seems like the best ice from what I was able to make out in the video.

That NBN asset is SO good.

God, I LOVE this game!!! @_@ !!!

Kinda going crazy over this data pack

Really happy since I was so disappointed after CnC (I expected 3x the awesome out of CnC since it was about 3x the size of a datapack, but barely got as much excitement as a single data pack would’ve given me. But now opening moves is 3x the awesome in a single pack).

EDIT: the per card AWESOME is so high in this pack, makes CNC look pg-13, despite its size

Yeah man, Masanori is kind of insane.

Edit: Masanori Data Link Reversal. Hehehehe.

The NBN asset seems insane, and a 1-of Cyberdex Trial might make it into a lot of my decks… getting walked all over by Anarch breakers these days.

Updated the OP with text of all the cards.

NBN asset was much needed, R&D lock what?

For a less obviously good card, I kind of like invasion of privacy. Looks like I could set up a variety of different win conditions with it.

Yeah, I don’t know why I didn’t mention Invasion of Privacy. So I’ll just say now: this whole pack is NUTS like acorns. Too many good cards.

I mean, for real, kill Account Siphon/Emergency ShutdownInside Job/Economy/whatever

NBN just got nasty hardcore CONTROL

If Chum resolves, and you have the Jinteki barrier behind it, if you return it to your hand do you think Chum hits for 3?

Edit: the answer is no, apparently.

Yeah, Invasion of Privacy in Weyland tag n bag is not crazy at all.

Nevermind, it’s a double event. Meh.

The real story of this data pack is Jackson Howard, the NBN exec.

I think it might be the best CARD printed since Core set. When taking into account its impact on ALL factions. (Individual things like 3/2 agendas were stronger for ONE corp than this. But at 1 influence, he is a big deal for ALL corps).

Corps have been getting destroyed by every data pack, but this looks like one data pack that gives them a truly powerful card that helps move things back towards balance between runner and corp.

(It also pretty much singlehandedly destroys Noise Mill as an archetype).

Just in time for the numerous runners I expect to run Masamoto DLR.
