[Noise] Welcome (back) to the Church

I was trying 3 QT in Noise and just didn’t play one in the like 4-5 games I played. The deck had less econ than it should’ve, but even then I feel like Diesel is a lot better.

And yes, Inject will be amazing!

I think for 3 QT to be any good, you need to play an assload of economy. Like: 2 Lucky Find, 2-3 Liberated, 3 Gamble, 3 Dirty, 3 Daily, 3 Cyberfeeder, and then you’re doing okay, MAYBE.

This is pretty much why my Whizzard deck uses Express Delivery over Quality Time. Saves significantly on money while still giving me a 3-of draw-booster without losing the Desperados or Security Testings. Quality time just isn’t always worth it if you’re paying full price.

Is haemorrhage and legwork a thing? Maybe not a noise thing, but a thing in general that sounds like it could be good in noise.

2 inf for Diesel sounds like such a waste, but I agree that it’s often worth it. Duggar’s is in the next pack. Who knows if that’s a thing!?! Express delivery might be worth a look in a deck with wyldside.

Hemo and Legwork go VERY well together. I have been trying to find a way to get it to work in Reina for a while. Mostly because if you even force one discard and run your legwork, you will almost certainly hit an agenda. All for the price of two hemo counters and two clicks.

There was a Ken deck that won a tournament I believe. I think if you’re trying for that, Ken is the place to do it. So many of the cards that get the most out of Haemorrhage are Criminal (Doppelganger/Desperado, Security Testing, Legwork being the main ones) and Ken gives you the influence to make it happen. If you wanted to run it out of Anarch I think you want to be running it out of Whizzard so you pick up tokens from all the asset trashing runs. It also runs best with the fixed-breaker set, as they enable cheap runs.

Noise just won German nationals.

That’s crazy, any news on the list?

Just saw the announcement on twitter. I’m sure the list will come out soon.

After the intial cost Wyldside is like a Diesel every turn right? If Aesop’s can bring back your credit investment it’s just costing you 2 clicks to set off this chain of Diesels. Surely that’s worth it if the 2 influence Diesel is ‘the second best card in the deck’. But you could be right, maybe the environment (NEH) is that fast right now that you can’t afford to invest half a turn without immediate payoff.

Would the German Nationals have had Cache legal? Probably not quite?

Yes cards up to spaces between were legal. The final was recorded should be a good watch.

In the early game Wyldside’s $3 initial cost is huge. That might equal three central accesses if you can break in for $1 per run, or you might not be able to install Wyldside at all if you had to take a NAPD or trash Jackson. Recouping that $3 in the late game probably equals one central access or less.

Seeing multiple Wyldsides early is also the worst case, whereas seeing multiple Diesels early is the best case.

In short, Diesel is super good always and Wyldside really, really depends. Chart of Wyldside vs time:

  • 0-4 turns: Terrible card, such regret.
  • 5-6 turns: Average card, but I have some spare influence so that’s nice.
  • 7-9 turns: Satisfaction, I got value and now I have to pawn it before I lose the game. Alternately, rage because I can’t find a Pawnshop and I desperately need all four actions.
  • 10+ turns: For some reason my opponent hasn’t scored out already, so I will cackle manically and internally congratulate myself for playing this beautiful card.

Wow, this list is really all in on the parasites. The same old things are pretty much just to recur deja vu and get another 2 parasite plays. Alongside 2 medium’s and 3 imp’s, this seems like it might have a pretty good NEH matchup. I wonder about the consistency, though.

Three Aesop’s is definitely the pimp hand, but three cores is a bummer…

The new promos should help a bit with that at least. If you are in an area that has organized play.

Very interesting deck. I am definitely going to try to slot in a few scrubbed or surges to taste.

*Also if you need extra promo aesop’s I will have some soon!

Whose brilliant idea was it to drop weak side wins completely as a tiebreaker and not just make it secondary to strength of schedule? I’ve now played in two tournaments since WSW was dropped and have finished in two true ties - both resulting in me losing the die roll-off for prize support. Frustrating.

Anyhoo, all that to say I played this list at a tournament today.

Absolutely devastated a NEH AstroBiotics deck with it, and my only loss was to a net damage heavy Jinteki deck. I’m a very inexperienced Noise player, so for those playing a similar list to this one… what are your tips for playing against Jinteki PE with this type of deck?

@benjaminwald05: The decklist of Axul (German Nationals) used Parasite and Crypsis, David as Backup and to cheap pass some Big ICE.

The Maincard in this Deck getting the most Recursion is Cache… Same Old on Deja Vu, play two Caches for up to +14 creds and two mills is a nice turn.

But i think he might post here on its own for more details (he also plays in the Stimhack League)…

Looks very similar to the Noise/Atman deck I ended up with. How do you find not having Knight? I struggle to envisage playing Noise without it.

Against PE, I don’t have an enormous amount of experience. But the games I have played, I won each time. Generally I hit the early remotes to stop House of Knives/Gila. Then snipe R&D, ideally with Medium (but don’t access more than two cards unless they are out of money and you have six cards in hand). If you see ICE on the top, use a mill to get rid of it. Between that, Imp and parasite recursion you should never really have to deal with ICE and should have unrestricted access to R&D. Once you have that, just make sure you trash the Ronins on sight and you are pretty much home and dry. Also it’s been the only match up where Lamprey was good for more than 3 credits and a mill - chipping away at their undefended HQ and dropping their credits each time. Wyldside is brutal since you’re likely to be drawing anyway you half the work compression they can inflict on you - just be ready to trash it if your deck starts to run low and always leave the credits and clicks to lose a tag if you hit Snare!.
