Hah, the Making News variant was called Sun Spots. This was just another solar-themed deck title… didn’t even think of the Netrunner card, oops. XD

I took first, @grogboxer took second and the bye as I already have one.

Made a siphon/dlr Quetz deck on Wednesday, but it was almost card for card the same deck as @mtgred 's Quetz, and since I liked his more I decided to bring an exact copy. I did mediocre with it, clocking 3-2. Blame the pilot imo. Fun stat: Milled ~52 cards with DLR, so that was a lot of fun.

Corp was blue sun: Cloud Cap Store Championship 3/14/2015 1st Place: B-God · NetrunnerDB

Personal note: even though the field wasn’t the biggest I’m stoked I finally took 1st at a store championship after being 2nd-3rd in so many SCs/Regionals in PDX. Finally a bride.

2015 Store Championship

Total Escape Games
Broomfield, Colorado

5 Rounds of Swiss, cut to top 8
Winner: Josh Imobersteg (@nungunz)

Won the TEG storechamps in Colorado yesterday using the following decks.

Runner Leela: Based on a combination @aandries and @CrimsonWraith decks and tweaked to my tastes. Had 2 losses (maybe 3) to flatlines. Once against a Tagstrom NEH and once against a Gagarin in top 8 ran into a snare and couldn’t draw up enough/shake the tag to survive the follow-up scorches.

Corp: Engineering the Future: Pure fast-advance deck. Based on the Mead Hall SC winner with my own meta tweaks and personal taste. I don’t think I would change all that much. Went undefeated with this deck…including having to play it 5 (6?) times in a row in double elims. Lotus Field won me a game by itself against sucker Andy. DBS won me two games by itself. And Cyberdex Virus Suite taxed and cleared data sucker tokens against a sucker-gabe deck that dealt him a big enough tempo hit that I was able to pull ahead.

Second storechamp win for me and the most I’ve had to work for my wins in a tournament ever (even Worlds last year). Tons of fun. I’m sure @CrimsonWraith will post up the full acoo account once we collect all of the decklists.

Got my 3rd store championship win with Leela and RP. First time playing as either of these IDs. I got in one practice game of each with Ross Freitag’s @hasuprotoss decks the night before. I played his RP and then his stealth Andy deck pretending that it was Leela before going home to build my own decks. My RP deck game straight at the recommendation of Zachary Cavis @Webster with two changes. My Leela decks is just something I threw together based on old school Andy sucker but this had daily casts and the new hotel.
I had been playing shaper exclusively since after gencon so it was good to get back into some criminal. I think the econ package in this could be improved. not having plascrete made argus matchups difficult. I got flatlined once in swiss, the other argus games I was able to win (played argus 3 times total). Played some NEH, some RP as well. I missed 50% of my Leela triggers which was unfortunate. Every game I missed it at least twice (new to the ID so yeah). Some games I was basically playing Andy without a link and starting with 5 cards.
RP was a lot of fun. Loving the yolo celebrity gift. In the grand finals I mulliganed a no ICE hand into another no ice hand. Runner was Andy so I celebrity gift. Andy turn one goes sure gamble, sure gamble, siphon, siphon. lol was hilarious. made a good comeback though. RP just always stays in it. In swiss I won a game where I was behind 6 points to 0.
I was 4th seed after swiss. Met Ross Freitag in the winner finals but lost to him. Got into the grand finals and won twice. Had a great time. Some of the most fun games of the season for me.

yolo gift. come at me bro.

Without a doubt the three games we played in elimination were some of my favorite games in recent memory. Wish they got recorded, but good to see that you can win with something other than Kate and NEH!

are the Wall of Thorns better than more Lotus Field/Tsurugi? WoT is just terrible versus Shaper. I guess Lotus ain’t too hot versus CyCy, though.

I would certainly cut one wall for one lotus, but this looks like a really great build of RP to bring if you want to beat Stealth Andy and still have good game against the rest of the field.

Took a second store champ, playing absolutely wonky shit corp side because I think every corp is bad now. Cerebral Static was actually the best card in the deck, turned off Maxx, Kit, and Leela with it en route to the win, and my losses with it were both comedic levels of poor luck. Playing from the same situations again, I’d win those same games 8/10 times.

Maxx is just stupid. Doppelganger is fantastic, this deck is now 21-1 in tournament play this season. Not sure what else there is to say about it.

I expected more Lotus Fields, put in the Spooned. Played 2 games today where my opponents had no ice installed at the end of the game. I keep cutting recursion and finding myself okay with how things turn out. Although the 3rd Deja is probably a strict upgrade to SoT in this build.

Congrats on the win!

Been playing and loving this HB archetype recently as well. One thing I’m still trying to get a feel for is when to let a scored ABT fire. I do it 80% of the time, but it always seems to come bite me in the a***. :stuck_out_tongue:

But I do love the versatility of the deck. Going to stick with it some more to see how it holds up after Clot-release.
