I think that’s perfectly fitting for HB thematically. Systematic and efficient.
Close, but their tagline is “Effective. Reliable. Humane”.
Hard to call Batty humane though. I guess that’s why you have to pay influence for him.
He’s effective though, and really, runners are thieves, if they want to play with the death ice, that is their choice. I would make an excellent sysop
“So this old geezer comes in, jumpy like he just downed a Diesel. He asks us about our servers and yells at Ash to keep his eyes forward. He mumbles some stuff about bidding one like a lunatic and suddenly our Heimdall 2.0 breaks all protocol and smashes the Runners head in. Then he hopped in a firebird Hopper and left. I don’t even know anymore man” - Experiential Data log #46.
This is how I suspect my HB deck will turn out once I actually pick up BB. With BBG, SanSan is miles better than Biotic Labor, and you can use it multiple times. I’ve considered going 2 ABT / 2 PV. If it’s enough of a consistent money boost, Quandary might turn into Enigma.

BBG and SSCG don’t synergise at all as they’re both regions.
That’s the thing that keeps me from playing oaktown grid and Breaker Bay grid together
True. Still…one econ and one scoring server, both with efficiency boosts.
Play the 3rd Ash and backup Biotics instead of the SanSan. And Vitruvius is pretty important for the Noise matchup, so definitely go 2/2.
To clarify…this also means one couldn’t use BBG’s discount to rez SSCG, consequently trashing BBG, correct?
They can’t be in the same server.
Specifically, they can’t be in the same server even if they are unrezzed. It’s a weirdness of regions in particular.
Turns out, sometime in the next 50 years we completely forget about cloud-based server virtualization and only keep the consumer-grade stuff (which gets restricted to illegal uses only in its terms of service). Possibly the EU passes some legislature about how all servers involved in the processing of a series of interdependent requests have to be physically present at the same location ![]()
From a theme perspective, I have always thought of the regions as representing infrastructural possibilities unique to a given locale.
Hopefully I will have no further inclination to discuss theme on Stimhack. Don’t want my Spike card revoked.
In case anyone is still tinkering around with the SanSan + BBG nonbo, I finally posted my list from GenCon. I love both cards, and it turns out they can exist in the same build.
Noticed you had trouble with Faust Noise. How do you approach a game vs Noise? I’ve been testing NEH Fastro vs Noise recently (should be somewhat similar matchup) and losing a lot with my normal NEH tempo. Right play seems to be to speed up, rather than trying to fight them in the late game. Any way you could speed up, either with card choices or play options?
So generally I completely agree that speeding up is the best counter to Noise. Challenging him to get into remotes and deal with Never Advance is usually a good way to slow him down from getting that monster engine roaring. The problem now is that it is too easy (with Faust and Medium) to almost permanently lock R&D if I’m not wary. Even if I am wary, it is difficult to get 1-2 meaningful pieces of ICE on R&D, save the money to rez them, and rush points out. The fact that the 2 Faust Noise decks I faced also played Clot was really just adding insult to injury. So basically my answer to the question: “Any way you could speed up?” is “Yes, but I don’t think that solves the problem here.”
I think the current iteration of Noise requires a fairly major retooling of the deck to challenge it honestly. I’m often heard saying that no game is over until that last AP is scored. Even if the odds are low, there is always a line of play that has the possibility for victory. I didn’t even feel that was really true against those Faust Noise decks. I found myself stuck on 4-5 points facing an oppressive R&D lock and a litany of mills. Luckily no one in my meta feels like playing Faust Noise, and my competitive season is over, so I’m just having fun with the current build and living with it’s faults.
2 cyberdex 1 turing proceed as usual
no?
The deck has 2 cyberdex already. Turing doesn’t do much I think, there is David if it is on a remote, parasite if it is on a central. It might be better in the Caprice glacier versions.
Though, if R&D lock is the problem, maybe find room for 1x fast track. What would you cut @Squash957?
I’m not sure Fast Track actually solves the problem either @jrp. If I’m on game point possibly, but otherwise I’m just shuffling R&D so that Medium can see 2-5 clean cards. If I had to cut something, the 49th best card is probably Biotic Labor. I am loathe to go below 17 ICE. All of my assets do too much work. If anything else, it would probably be an upgrade. Replacing a CVS to boost your Noise match-up seems counter-intuitive. Maybe an Ash could go, but that doesn’t sound like a good idea either.
I’ve been getting a lot of comments that Ichi 1.0 has been doing work against Noise, so maybe the inclusion of 1 and Turing could combine to be enough to slow down Faust Noise. I suspect it won’t (and will be hurt the deck in other match-ups), but I would be interested in hearing results from someone who tries it.
I think 3 SanSan probably isn’t necessary if you’re playing against top tier decks (that don’t bother trashing it because they play Clot). You could rework that influence into something bothersome like Crisium Grid or anything else that slows down Medium really. I was even tinkering around with Susanoo for a little bit.
