[Reina] Headlock: How to Make Sure Your Opponent Doesn't Get to Play Netrunner

how useful was the Deja Vu (and the knifed)? i can’t think of more than 1-2 games where it would have been useful if i had one to grab parasites/lampreys.

The second scrubber isn’t necessary with desperado.

[/quote] deja vu hits vamp about as much as it hits parasite and lamprey

I feel you. Need to find one, though, no?

Yeah, Deja is just really great in here.

having it out helps a lot, but it’s not necessary with a desperado, especially against rp, where you’ll probably get 2 credits checking the remote anyway.

Has anyone considered or tried Headlock Valencia? Her Blackmails solve a lot of asset econ problems.

I feel like the whole plan is kinda shitty if you can’t lamprey lock because the corp can actually afford to rez cheap ICE after a turn they start with $0

-1 knight for yog or Corroder?

Surprised that 1 keyhole worked so well. Seems a bit of a gamble in regards to missing out on good opportunitys to dig. Scrubber makes up for it a bit?

Random thought: I’m pretty sure it’s too win-more, but pulling off Activist Support is both plausible and sexy.

it wasn’t bad in actively tagme anarch builds, but this one doesn’t want a trashed kati, and also can’t turn it off should they not trash it.

What was Ahmed playing at regional?

Prepaid Kate and RP

Thanks for sharing @SamRS !
Don’t you miss those lucky finds ever ? Installing Earthrise Hotel always feel a bit like a tempo hit, but compensated by the fact that you could draw the next turn some bonkers econ ( aka Sure Gamble and Lucky Find ). I’m afraid of lacking money with this list and the lucky finds gone !

Have you played the Blue Sun Bootcamps matchup with Desperado much? It seems much worse than Vigil and 6 spare influence there as the number of runs is way lower.

By mid-game he had Crisiums on both HQ and R&D and I had the choice to go to $0 trashing his Adonis with only a Liberated in hand to recover, or going Liberated and letting him milk the Adonis behind a Lotus + Tollbooth remote.

Desperado feels like it could be good (It’s Desperado, d’uh), but I think it’s possibly a win more card here. It seems really bad while you’re playing the staring match phase of the game with each of you trying to gain more econ that the other to land or evade the big vamp. When you’re on top and doing your Lamprey denial horror thing, Desperado is awesome. If you’re not, it’s a disaster.

I feel games with this deck are won and lost in the staring match/game of chicken at the start where Vigil is stellar. I get 2 lucky find and 2 career fair with the influence. (That’s like 5 extra Sure Gambles)

I think Spags’ Crypsis is a really good move. It means a Sundew behind an Himitsu Bako can’t win the game on its own.

I just think sometimes you want a punch through, and you have the creds for Crypsis, which punches through all.

The crypsis plan is appealing, though not with desperado, you’ll need the upfront econ provided by LF and/or Career Fair to sustain that. Crypsis is 5 creds to install, and expensive to use !

derived from the vigil build with crypsis

Crypsis cost a zillion dollars to break anything, I’d rather just let that damn Sundew roll than pay $10 to kill it when they have probably 2 copies of Interns in their hand.

Do you not just lose then? This deck, as far as I can tell, has exactly one win condition. It involves the corp being both poor and miserable. I don’t think you use Crypsis much, but I think it’ll come up a handful of times (once during a tournament day) and be worth the 1 card slot. Maybe the 3 knights is enough.

Yeah, I feel you. I did watch you play @bblum’s RP, and he did defend that Sundew within an inch of his life, but that single Sundew won him the game.
