I am under the impression the ‘trash’ mechanic is not a card ability but a different mechanic altogether. Trashing cards is an interaction with access, credits, and trashcan icons. Card abilities that deal with trashing have a pass due to the mechanic already being established.
Ultimately it was simply a clarification for the Runner trashing programs bit on Burke Bugs or Q-coherence chip. Someone new reading the cards would think that this applied if they were also trashed from the grip.
Yeah, it was just the direct answer from Lukas on the question. You have to click through and see the conversation to get the context. The “it” in his response is card ability of Whizzard/Scrubber. The card ability affects credits in these cases not cards (therefore the state of the card you use those credits on don’t matter).
I don’t think RP can sustain econ vs Whizzard unless they go down operation route - in which case you Palana is just better?
I was thinking that operation based glacier either out of yellow (MN), red (palana) or purple is best, but I haven’t tested any of them enough to come to a firm conclusion.
Anything that doesn’t rely on assets and ICE is my first guess.
I run a tagstorm Sol deck (link here for the curious) that does both FA and psychobeale (with a couple information overloads thrown in to lock down late game).
I think getting away from the glacier mindset is key for dealing with a deck that’s main plan is to strip servers bare. Saleem’s Hospitality will make killing plascreteless anarchs easier so I expect kill to make a bit of a resurgence.
Palana may be the answer then, the most important thing is the ICE suite though. Rp forces the runner to either run any of the central servers (so your crick on the archives, and any grail/swordsman on the central servers (Ichi on RnD ifenough inf) will tax faust as hell) and then you try to make the remote decent with Lotus field and Caprice.
And Celebrity Gift + Hedge fund are already in RP. Only Restructure and the Palana ability are the difference.
The only prob is Ice destruction (cutlery) but maybe Museum can accommodate this.
I proposed Grail because every ice can give net damage with the Grail suite.
Palana is really good but then Whizz has either to press RnD or the remote. You cannot have Caprice on both.
I don’t understand how Museum is supposed to survive against Whizzard (it’s tough to defend out of IG, let alone RP), and I don’t understand the appeal of Grail versus AI breakers and ice destruction combined (one alone was always rough on them).
I don’t know about “hoses”, but spags/Calimsha-style NEH Fastro with some anti-Anarch tech tweaks did very well for me against Whizz during SC season.
The key things were more ETR for early-game gear-checks and to stop free 'sucker farming (Enigma > Quandary for this, because of Parasite), Little Engine as MVP, and to not give up on your assets just because it’s Whizz. Definitely needs two Biotics.
