What's up with Criminal?

Deck should def. run IJ.

Inside job is simply not a 3 of card anymore because the game slowed down significantly (and it kinda sucks against Caprice). In Leela it is good. Shutdowns would be good enough if more people played Weyland, which is otherwise pretty strong against most Andromeda builds, but they don’t - at least I don’t encounter it often.

The metagame is actually pretty good for Criminals right now to make them comparable to other factions, if it were more skewed towards Grail, they would be far worse off.

ES is really strong against RP as well, as they usually have tollbooths and tsurigi, and occasionally a susan, it should be a 3of unless you’re in a metagame that went all the way back to nbn.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m one of the rare people who actually slots the one ES. It can make for a great power turn when you decide to unleash your Siphons, and follow it up with ES.

It’s difficult to find room for more of it when it often sits in your hand together with your Siphons.

I run 2 ES, 2 IJ, 2 Legwork in my Andy. I’m debating going -1 IJ, +1 ES.

i think feint is an interesting card but overcosted @ 2. FFG was super conservative with the criminal stuff in HP. i cannot justify feint when inside job and legwork both cost 2 and sneakdoor is in faction.

Feint probably wouldn’t get played at 0. If it allowed accesses it wouldn’t be op. It’s on the long list of bad criminal cards that are both expensive and situational.

I have a pretty janky ken-completed deck that uses it as a 1x to clear out crisium on HQ, as its main breaker is eater.

I think making IJ strictly better to the tune of bypassing twice the ice might actually be “op.”

Does my copy of Feint look different than everyone else’s? How the heck are you accessing the Crisium Grid to trash it?

edit: It turns out that I’m actually an idiot

Because Crisium Grid forces you to ignore it’s “If successful” text.

A rezzed crisium means that it doesn’t count as successful, and therefore the no accesses clause doesn’t kick in

Oh dang that’s pretty cool.

Eater
Program: Icebreaker - AI • Install: 4 • Memory: 1 • Strength: 2 • Influence: 3
1: Break ice subroutine. You cannot access more than 0 cards for the remainder of this run.
1: +1 strength.
Nom nom nom.
Anarch • Adam S. Doyle • Order and Chaos #40

that doesn’t work, its not if successful.

But Eater isn’t necessary if you’re bypassing the ice with feint.

Got to get them to Rez the Crisium first. That usually means a successful Legwork or Siphon on HQ, which gets shut down by Crisium. Might as well just trash the Crisium then, so no need for Feint.

Puts quite a damper on Munshin Grid though.

The point is that in that deck the siphon is using eater, so you can’t access the crisium anyway.

You can only use it on HQ, how in the world would it be a strictly better inside job? I agree that it would still be unplayable (or maybe barely playable in a slow deck trying to stack hq interfaces) if you could access cards.
