Oh man, that sounds super fun. Jessa-ing their resources is rude as hell and side action summons sound amazing. Did you catch any of his numbers by chance? Health/Units/Spells?
Yeah, Jessa is strong, but not overly strong. Maeoni is quite weak in my opinion, and her Deckbuilding is so limited.
All pretty cheap, I think hes a 20hp, his side action is a 0/2 which is awesome iirc.
My Deck:
Maeoni Viper
4/4/2 Frogs/Snakes/Dogs
Ready:
3x Silver Snakes
3x Gilder
2x Shifting Mists

Action:

3x Mist Typhoon
3x Hidden Power
3x Transfer
2x Open Memories
Reactions:

Donāt be a narc, man.
who exactly are you going to report. the game is a few cup sizes away from being a force of will anime-porn game as it is, without people trying to act like self-important tools about it too.
I was just kidding.
But anime porn is just insulting to the game.
Truly, this game is marginally above ANR on the sensuality scale.
ashes rise of the side bewb:

I canāt believe they printed a topless Coal card. Fernandaās going to give everyone the vapors if this keeps up.
Oh come on! How does Sariah count? Okay yes Maeoni and Chant of Revenge are bad.
i cant tell if this thread is endorsing this game or not. lol
I got bored of it really, really quickly.
Weāre just having a goof. Itās fun.
Itās a decent game, but definitely not at the same level of Netrunner, Conquest, or aGoT. The dice resource system is an improvement over magicās mana and there are other interesting facets of the game, but itās not as strong a design as the FFG LCGs or Doomtown.
Having recently come to terms with the fact that nothing will be as good as netrunner, Iām enjoying ashes as a solid side-game. When youāve played netrunner for a long time you will need side-hobbies to take a break from the endless cycle of ffg-disappointment once in a while.
There is way more depth than there appeared to be at the start in Ashes; things are also very time sensitive. Two things that I love.
For example, I played an ashes game that I lost because I failed to summon a unit at the right moment; by comparison I played a NR match last night against Daine with his Congress deck as CI, where we spent 40 minutes getting to 60 credits each and just ignoring eachother like we were playing dominion.
I have also come to this realization recently. Iām still enjoying Ashes as well, but itās clearly in a different league.
tfw you realize nothing will be as good as Netrunner
Why even live?

that click 1 shifting mists is pretty important yo.
Running every flavor of dice. Bold choice.
Thanks for the write up chill. I do wonder how different competitive decks will look if the only real restriction on deck building is the signature cards and consistency is a shifting mists away. Perhaps restricting PB to specific magic schools or having more signature cards would have been better than a completely open system where players will simply do the dice math and cram the best stuff in with the PB the best ability and signature card.
The influence system that Lukas borrowed from blue moon is what makes netrunner deck building agonizingly fun. The other day I sat around for 20 minutes trying to remove one influence from my criminal deck to sneak a film critic in to combat the 3x TFP that palana glacier is rocking. I removed corroder and stuck in inti, I dropped to one data sucker, I had a moment of insanity where I cut desperado etc.
Magicās system is less transparent than netrunnerās but the consistency problem that comes from running multiple colors is one of the puzzles that I think makes magic compelling. How much mana fixing do I need to do what I want and still have slots for cards that do stuff?
If anyone is looking for another decent dueling game I think the new iteration of the vs system is pretty dang good. It desperately needs more cards and needs upper deck to promote it but Iāve had a lot of fun with the core.
Itās like magic the gathering, the factions donāt have āflavorā the game is basically all mechanics, so your deck building around a meta strategy and itās more about strategy x vs strategy y than it is about jessa vs aradel.
Honestly if the game was just all jessa decks against eachother it would probably still be fun. Maybe thatās the future of ashes, that no ID will surpass the utility of 1die for 1 pbdamage triggers and access to 0 dice cost unsummons.
