So can someone please play Dedicated Server in the winning deck next year (preferably out of Nisei)? Still my favourite art. Also, lets see some more Liiga S. and Shawn Ye Zhongyi cards winning tournaments.
I’ll try, but… I can’t promise anything. Ye gods, why is Dedicated Server costed the way it is :)?
Well, this is great.
One step in the right direction to become a broad, competitive card game.
Love it.
Now, if only they do this with draft sets…
Now, I’m new to FFG product announcements, but…
Since this is being announced after all the Mumbad packs, does that mean this is our new “big box”?
So excited, can’t wait for August when it hit stores!
I think they are intended to be like the MTG’s decks from the vault or whatever they called it. Duel decks that were once tourney winning decks that are no longer legal. That and also a big giant boost for newer players’ collection.
You get 2 food, 3 Jackson, 3 eve, 3 Turing, 2 caprice, 1 cyberdex, 3 ash, 3 breaker bay on Corp side. Runner side you get 2 d4v1d, 3 Faust, 3 street peddler, 3 daily cast, and 3 same old thing. You get amazing cards from 11 different sources not even counting the core set cards or the MWL’d cards. Assuming the new player only has one core set.
Oh my goodness these look fantastic. Want. Want all of it. Fancy Fausts and Siphons are going in everything.
The layout is a bit weird on the ICE, but whatever. Still using it.
I think the layout is for easy reading when turned toward a player. The default subroutine layout on regular ICE is a pain in the ass to read, IMHO.
Damnit @mediohxcore
On a serious note: These look amazing and I’m really glad they will be in stores as a way of jumping into the competitive side of Netrunner in a inexpensive manner.
This is completely awesome, but oh man, DLR Val? That’s an unfortunate deck choice. Here ya go newbies, have fun playing a deck we totally had to erratum a key card to nerf. Oh, and these decks aren’t tournament legal, so just hop on the internet and learn about which cards you’re going to have to replace.
It is unfortunate that the competitive jumping off point decks are decks that are errata’d for competitive play.
It is important to understand, however, that they are illegal only for FFG tournaments so these are still great for casual play. Giving a strong deck to a beginner is a nice handicap and might increase the enjoyment of their first few play sessions.
And 3 Architect, 3 Eli, and 3 Ichi 1.0 for Corp. That deck just has so many good cards in it, this is an amazing sell for anyone.
Except isn’t DLR Val a bit difficult to pilot? Aren’t most of the plays not very intuitive? I seems like it would be more frustrating for a new player, especially because it doesn’t play “fundamental” Netrunner ie credits and breakers.
At least Foodcoats is pretty easy.
DLR Val definitely isn’t “Standard Netrunner” but I wouldn’t say it is the most complicated deck ever to pilot at a basic level. I am in complete agreement that there are better decks for teaching Netrunner than DLR Val.
I just had a friend get into the game by playing Minh MaxX on Jinteki.net and he’s having a great time with it.
Can confirm. My wife never won a game against me until I set her up with Foodcoats, and she’s now 2-0, rediscovered her love of the game, and is gaining a deeper understanding of play.
I’m gonna have to bust out my try-hard decks if this keeps up!
So hyped for these though I may not be the target audience. As we all want to build up player base this is nothing short of amazing. Good job FFG.
@mediohxcore, were you notified of this? Just wondering.
Funny story:
But then later Dan self-troll complete:
The cards themselves are 100% tournament legal – just not in this configuration. Which frankly, is a good thing – it would be kinda dumb if someone could spend just $15 on an amazing deck and win tournaments with it, without having gone through the same time and money investment as players with full collections of cards. The errata might have been the step that made creating this promotion possible in the first place.
