It's not that hard, and she's pretty hardcore - Leela Patel

I do remember you thinking at Worlds that she was complete shite. She’s absolutely devastating against PE and BS. My win-rate on OCTGN v. BS was ridiculous, like 90%+ good in at least 15 games.

@aandries beat @Paranoid running RP twice in Chicago, IIRC. Sneakdoor goes a long way, there.

RP is hard, there’s no two ways about it. I have picked up a couple tricks that have helped me out:

  • You have to sack up and hit the ICE you’ve pressured them into rezzing, you can lose games if you try to tax their credits/sneak a free jack-out against unrezzed ICE. Just don’t risk it. This has helped a bunch and except for my breakers, I can pretty much lose any cards in my grip to net damage and be okay

  • Going off this, you have to keep the remotes under control, even if that means faceplanting into Tsurugi, until you get your mimic, you can’t blow through your faeries just paying the RP tax, hit an ICE, and go trash stuff, in my experience just celebrity gift money isn’t enough to power RP all game.

I think most games I played vs @aandries this SC season I got pretty bad draws economically speaking and it always seemed like he had a Kati in the first two or three turns (also a huge misplay that cost me the game forgetting that Utopia was on the table once). I know, no excuses, but I think Leela does well against RP even so, ESPECIALLY if you’re running 3x Kati, which I assume will be the standard when Clot drops. I know I’m a lot happier playing vs Andy than Leela with RP. I couldn’t really rank which ID is best vs RP (Leela vs Kate vs Maxx) but Sneakdoor + Leela’s ability really does go a long way in hindering a standard RP playstyle IMO.

MaxX RAM is the best v. RP, IMHO, as it melts any hindering ICE.

Kate would probably do better against Grail RP but RegAss MaxX is probably the best runner right now against regular RP. Having Parasite and Imp influence free is game winning.
I think Stealth Andy should probably fare well against RP but then the NEH matchup is horrible (which isn’t the case with Kate and MaxX)

I’ve had worse is also a fairly big deal vs. RP. Letting them spend 7 credits to help you cycle through a bad hand is crushing in the tempo game.

Yeah. Just when I was ready to go back to damage RP, >THAT< card came out.

Nothing like faceplanting delibrately through a Komainu to draw some cards.

It lead to a win for me the other day actually. I did a ‘what the hell’ run vs RP on R&D with only a handful of credits, faceplanted through Komainu to get at R&D for a blind dig on the last turn (the Corp had a huge glacier in the remote). What did I draw? Stimhack and SINGULARITY!

Singularity the remote (bye bye Ash, and 30 useless corp credits), then stimhack Archives for the win to steal the NAPD.

It was 1-0 in Chicago and 2-0 in MKE vs. RP. Kati is vital of course, but she’s usually pretty clutch to get. The Sneakdoor is devastating to RP in my findings, as is the Utopia. Often times they are slowly building their Economy and those agendas will swell up, forcing Jackson to do work. Timed properly and the shard is overwhelming.

Secretly I’ve just been letting you win so you can break the 2nd place curse. It worked!

A good RP player will ICE archives and leave a jackson in play as they’re building their scoring remote. If they don’t find Jackson and they flood on non TFP agendas, Sneakdoor can be good, but it’s usually pretty expensive and a good player expects it. After that you stop drawing cards or do so very carefully so you can remove Agendas from HQ into the scoring remote.

Leela gets like, a 2-3 turn window to topdeck or sneakdoor an agenda and siphon the RP player or she’s way behind, even with Kati.

Maybe I am just world champion RP player or something.

A good runner won’t leave a Jackson in play.

He’s more expensive to get to in RP, and you can risk your whole hand running at archives ICE, and you need $4 to steal NAPD. AND THEN you’ve got to install the whole rest of your rig and have enough to get in places pretty quickly after that. And they might be collecting drip econ during the time it takes to get to him.

DAN RP NUMBER ONE!

Epic Leela again in SHL3. I’m up 6-1 but my NEH opponent got shit load of money. He plays Biotic, then wants to play an agenda and tripple advance, score. I remind him of my Utopia Shard, I pop it, he takes 4 credits, I win the game

lol, you dropped the ball in Madison, if that was your plan.

Dan, you’re turning into the Jon Spencer of Netrunner. “The RP is Number One!” I can dig that.

Can we call this “Milwaukee Leela” already? :sunglasses:

Historically it’s inspired by @Cerberus’s list, right? So maybe Milwaukeefordshire Leela?
