Minor runner factions with only core+genesis cards?

I am still learning A:NR, so this is a little bit to much for me, but our gaming group would be interested in trying out the 3 minor runner factions (Apex, Adam and Sunny), but we still only play with Core+Genesis.

Could You create Apex, Adam and Sunny decklists that are around the same powerlevel as the Corp factions in that meta with only:
Core+Genesis+(Creation and Control)+Data and Destiny cards in them?
I hope this isn’t to much to ask.

I built a onesee Adam and he’s…ok. To be honest decks with these mini factions where you don’t have access to the full card pool are not super strong.

I think apex is your best, as the endless hunger breaker is actually quite strong in just core+Genesis, although an ichi will really mess you up so a femme or ninja is also needed. You could also use a shrike if you’re using the data and destiny box.

Adam is ok as a early pressure runner, and his draw is strong, but not having find the truth is tough and economy is tough to find without C&C.

Sunny is, by far, the weakest of the mini factions with just the genesis cycle. No draw, 50 card deck, link but in a context where link rarely matters and without the cards to force link to matter. If you want to do this, don’t use Sunny.

Genesis has Underworld Contact to make good use of link. Clickless self-tagging is available because both Jak Sinclair and Nexus are in D&D. And there’s no Jackson for corps. So I guess Sunny should try to setup DLR.

I didn’t say you couldn’t do it. I was saying, if you only have core+genesis+D&D, I think she’s probably the weakest minifaction.

You don’t happen to have a few decklists, by any chance?

No. I’ve built a onesee deck but that’s it. I’ll see if I can brainstorm an Apex deck that wouldn’t be terrible tonight. Your available tools are core + genesis + C&C + D&D?

We have all of the cards up to flashpoint, but we are still playing with core+genesis.
We are thinking about introducing C&C in a couple of weeks, if we could introduce the three minor factions too at that point that would be great.

So, here’s what I’ve got. I haven’t optimized these at all, so please take these with the spirit they were intended.

Hey just curious. Did you end up trying these out? Which ones worked best if you did?

I played against them, haven’t played with them.

I (almost) always played Glacier HB.

Sunny works really well if she is setup. But she can`t stop Fast Advance Biotic Labor + 3/2s. So if the corp player rushes the agendas she can’t do much.
I think she needs more card draw, like Mr.Li or Wyldside.
My opponent had MU issues so we also tried to add Djinns and more virus cards. Since her Icebreakers don’t cost MU I was thinking about going full virus with her and maybe use Knight, but never tested it.

Adam was very clunky. I only played against it once or twice, some of our playing group played with it some more, but I am not sure what their final verdict was. I would like to play against him with his fourth Directive a little bit.
As far as I remember I’ve built up my ICE wall, scored an Accelerated Beta Test and that was pretty much it.
The other game was with Weyland, I drew the kill combo early and finished the game. If I remember correctly.

Apex is really nice against my HB Glacier and managed to get around a 50% win, mostly because of his Apocalypse removing all of my defensive glacier ICE.
I know my opponent tweaked the decklist a little bit, but I can’t recall what he changed.

Overall I would say it was definitely fun to play with them and against them. Anyone reading this should give them a try.
And your decklists were great, I wouldn’t have been able to put them together.

On a side note:
We haven’t played with them that much. We introduced C&C just a week or so before Terminal Directive came out and we were playing with that immediately after it arrived. I am actually thinking about replaying it. We are trying to add the TD cards to our cardpool and some of us would like to introduce the Spin Cycle and the next deluxe (I think Honor and Profit) too.

The overall feeling was that the minor runners are nice and I liked them a lot, but everyone would rather play with their favourite faction.

Yep.
This is why I’ve taken to always running at least 1x The Source in Sunny, which is a C&C card.

I finally got to play a couple games with Sunny (against HB glacier, Weyland Kill and NBN Kill decks) with the list above.

I really liked your list and had a pretty high winrate (50%+ if remember correctly). I think the rabbit holes are nice but not necessary. The same goes for the 3 extra breakers. I usually wanted her main breakers out as soon as possible.

So keeping the 3 Diesels, the 3 Easy Marks and the Viruses (which work like a charm!) I removed every other imported card and added Special Orders, a Djinn, another Datasucker, Hostage (for underworld contact), Mr.Li and another Plascrete.

It worked better, but I guess your original list is better if a better player is piloting it then me.

The deck really needs Datafolding and Earthrise Hotel to work properly, maybe even a few more "Hostage"s.
Once it gets rolling she is unstoppable, mitigating the big deck with tutor cards is in my opinion a good solution, but mostly because it suits my playstyle.

Sunny with Tutor cards isn’t the worst. I prefer to tutor for her engine, though. Hostage to find Kati, Jak, Contacts, and other powerful connections is my usual strategy. A lot of what I play in Sunny isn’t available in your card pool. (I play Professional Contacts, Supplier, Beth, Film Critic, John Masanori, and Aaron.)

Sunny’s a little weird because she wants just massive amounts of Card Draw, because she needs to install massive amounts of cards, in all the iterations I’ve had any success with. (In my testing, the absolute minimum needed to have her work is a Security Nexus and at least 1 more Link. Realistically, 3 pieces of Drip econ are needed for a win.) Mr. Li doesn’t work for me, when I tried it.

It’s also been my experience that I really really don’t want to install her breakers unless I have to. I first want a Nexus down and run a couple times, bypassing ICE they rez so I know which breaker I need. They’re expensive to install and use, the less I have to use them, the better.
