[NBN] Butcher Your Enemies, Butcher Your Friends

Utopia Shard and Dorm Computer are good splashes as well, if you want to go full anti.

I did finally lose with the haarp deck last night, hit all three of their IHW, and it drew them into their double plascrete, which they promptly installed. And I wasn’t far enough ahead in the scoring game. But man, the deck is fun to play

Imp is a pretty decent splash since it also fucks with HB asset economy, defuses some of Haarp’s throwing down two agendas at a time, and is just generally good for dealing with stuff you access and don’t want them to have. In this meta at least 1x plascrete is probably mandatory unless you have some other plan.

I think turntable does a lot of work against Haarp.

Hey guys! I think it’s time for reviving butchershop, now when salem’s hospitality have arrived. MWL damaged my favourite archetype a lot, but I hope this card will help! At least I’m going to try it out. That’s the shell I’m looking forward to test this weekend:

I think we can drop TA now and use influence for San-Sans (that’s what we lost with MWL). I dunno about turnpikes, maybe ravens are still better.

What are your thoughts, folks? Maybe someone already have tried this out?

I don’t think that card will help much. the cases where the runner is going to have 2 cards for you to zap, and you guess them, seems like it would be very rare.

So now you are looking to gather 3 cards to kill someone ( scorch, traffic/salem, traffic/salem. (and that’s after a tagging operation card)), and even in that situation you need to guess right on your first or you don’t get the kill.

Also: You really need to land that midseasons hard. You can’t rely on the hope that they have 4 cards in hand to Mids-Salem’s-Scorch. so you took away the need to only land the two tags and kill them. You need to land that mids so hard that they can’t save themselves a turn or two down the line.

All these things makes it tough to work i think.

For fun you could try the concept in Making News using Snoop. Snoop’s big drawback is that if you don’t get the early game face-check it’s very difficult to land the power counter. So consistency and all that jazz. Once you do however using Salem’s to kill someone is much, much easier.

I want to try neh butcher with salem too but I prefer the ravens :stuck_out_tongue:
Maybe this?

Mumbad Virtual Tour seems a pretty good for in Butchershop. What does everyone think?

@ericbtool
Of course hospitality + one scorch is not always enough. But TA + scorch wasn’t also enough when you hit IHW with TA. And now you can drop IHW from hand with Salem’s.

Of course! But that always has been the case with butchershop. You are not always killing in one turn.

@aaron, seems OK, but i don’t like 2x gutenberg. It is useless on RND after midseason, I’d rather have another CVS to stop medium. From my experience with old butchershop decks, 1x is enough.

@Ortho, looks interesting, but I’d rather have some solid eco in that slot. I don’t know what to took out for this.

I think Salem’s Hospitality plan needs to wait two more months for Harishchandra Ent. and Ibrahim Salem

Agreed.

I mean its not a bad card. I feel most of the time it is a neural EMP.

Post midseasons it is a lot worse than traffic accident unless they have 2 I’ve Had Worse in hand.

Now if you know their hand, its actually pretty solid. Recurring them is pretty sweet for constant damage. But that would probably require a NEH temple deck build.

And Weyland’s one alliance card is pretty garbage right now, although surprisingly enough not so bad in NBN. Almost all of the good sysops and characters are in NBN.

I’ve been having good success with this:

Cards up to Data and Destiny

Previously had Mumba Temples instead of the marked accounts, but although it’s a great card it felt underwhelming here - just wasn’t rezzing enough stuff. Also had two special offers at one point over two pop-up windows, with no clear conclusion on which is better. The assets are meh against Whizzard, but you pretty much have to play some of them, and it can still slow down his setup. I tried a brief stint with 2x Sensie Union, but didn’t feel I was getting enough compared to alternatives.

Snatch and Grab has worked OK as a tech slot, actually nailing Noise’s pwnshop often, and occasionally knocking out Kati or Film Critic, but I intend to try Salem’s in it’s place once it becomes functional on Jinteki. It seems a bit narrow as mainly an IHW remover, but could be the difference between winning or losing in some games.

Is there a reason to bench traffic accident entirely? Are you guys finding your meat damage with enough consistency?

I think 3 traffic and 2 scorch is probably correct due to IHW. I also think the last scorch should become archived memories.

I would also consider losing a pop-up for a second resistor. Once the shit hits the fan you need something to help stave off big rnd digs. Just don’t rez it til it’s needed so it doesn’t get parasites too early.

@all virtual tour looks way better for butchershop than Salem’s to me. Much more flexible too. Put that under a sensie or exploda. Woof.

that list looks pretty dece. I’m not a huge fan of pop ups in midseason builds so I would cut one for a resistor, one for a quandary, one for a gutenberg maybe…or I would cut one for a 15 minutes, cut one of the explodas for another breaking news (so as to have three breaking news), and maybe find room for a third data raven. But yeah I like the list overall, maybe add shattered remains and cut snatch and grab (that card rarely works for me) and not sure I would keep sea source but I could have just had bad experiences with it

Any luck with Virtual Tour + Exploda?

I have managed it a few times. It seems like it helps the build a teensy bit. But with all the film critic, I am hesitant to play this competitively right now.

if you have a bunch of critics slot a snatch ‘n’ grab or two. between that and news you can help to keep it under control and it’s good against kati too which is another card that weakens the plan.

Great suggestion!

Slots are tight, but with Virtual Tours in the build I think its actually pretty solid. It also turns midseasons back on, which is huge.

the great “achievement unlocked” would be an exploda on top of a tour guarded by a special offer. that would be fun to pull off, win or lose.

I don’t know if it’s completely combo tastic territory. Special Offer into either Explode or Tour seems good enough. Getting all three is just icing on the cake.

Having said that I think operations might be the better way to go at the moment. Everyone is coming prepared for Asset Spam so Virtual Tour is significantly weakened at the moment.
