NBN Yellow Jackets: 1st and 2nd at San Antonio regionals

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, you may very well be right. I’ve been playing 2x Scorch 1x Archived Memories in my midseason/psychographics NBN, and while I wont have 2 free bucks on my midseason, I very much like the prospect of 3x Scorch, 2x Archived Memories, or more likely, 2x Scorch, 3x Archived Memories, 3x Eli

What do IAA or AAA stand for ?

Install, Advance, Advance.

Advance, Advance, Advance.

Love the surprise Shinobi in MN
I hope this doesn’t continue. I’ve been splashing a single Shinobi in MN for about 2 months now (to great effect).

I love this deck. Are you considering adding any of the Upstalk cards? Midway Station Grid? Lotus field? What cards would you consider getting rid of?

Proud day for Grandpa Never Advance when, after seeing someone ask in one thread here a couple days ago if Never Advance is basically obsolete, hotshot grandson Yellow Jackets cleans up at San Antonio regionals.

Well played, Yellow Jackets, well played

I play Shinobi in MN as well, except my build had Broadcast Square to avoid the BP from Shinobis and Grims. That deck was doing well until Security Testing became a card :frowning:
Yes, Security Testing seems to have really hurt NBN asset builds.

So, the Blue Levels seem like the the real interesting choice here, at least to me. Here’s how I’m seeing this: With 3 BLCs in the deck I’m getting 6 cards and 9 creds for 3 cards and 6 clicks. With 2 Anonymous Tips in the deck I get 6 cards a with 2 cards and 2 clicks. Obviously, I’m spending 6 influence on the BLCs as well.

In conclusion I’d say that BLCs allow you moderate card draw and more economy than the two Tips, but at the sacrifice of speed and worse ICE. I’ll continue to test with 18 ICE and 2 Tips instead of the 3 BLCs and report back.

Anonymous Tip isn’t going to add any speed if you have to click for credits frequently. You’re taking out money, and adding more things to spend money on, you’re going to hit money issues.

Going to Regionals with 2 Tips and 1 Celebrity Gift. We’ll see how it turns out. I’m thinking it should be a bit faster than the three BLCs, with slightly less money (in case I don’t see or can’t use CG). I like being able to dig quickly and I get to use an Ichi and 2 Elis (very taxing).

I’ll post the list if I do well. Haha.

I don’t think I’ll ever understand why people like gift in nbn, For me, the idea to play BLC would be born out of desperately not wanting to play gift.

i ran gift in making news and TWIY and jackson is what makes it work. often the hand you show won’t be the hand you are left with when jackson is around so the downside of gift isnt as much of downside. other times i could show everything but the astroscript or show a bunch of agendas and pitch them all into the archives after the gift knowing jackson would put them back.

the nice thing about gift is it puts you at san san -> astro or tollbooth money ASAP and digs out from under siphon.

i dont think its necessary by any means but NBN’s influence is so open right now they can afford the luxury influence picks.

Top 8 out of 75 in Seattle Regional yesterday. I’m definitely no top tier player, but this deck is super fun. You can see the deck history in Meteor all the permutations. I love the one-off Shinobi. Two kills out of 10 games.

Improvements would be to drop down to 2 RSVPs (it’s boss, but 3 are too much) and add maybe a draco or another Tollbooth. Good times!

@SamRS why only 2 Draco? That card seems amazing in MN.

It is amazing, but it gets a lot worse in multiples so it went down to 2. I rarely run 3of ice anyway unless the ice is just ridiculously strong

I’m not entirely sold on Closed Accounts as a 2of (as opposed to a 1of) with Draco and Breaking News as your only tagging. Are they primarily for tag-me runners / Account Siphon? How do you prefer to deal with Siphon if you don’t see a Closed Accounts?

I agree in general on not including too many 3 ofs, but in Draco’s case I think it’s pretty much universally useful. Early obviously as a soft ETR and face-checking pain, but also later as Siphon protection, Inside Job protection, Asset protection, or just an emergency/luxury high-strength sentry.

Also, congrants on getting top 2 (I noticed a Draco pretty much kept HQ protected for you throughout the penultimate game, by the way, apart from Sneakdooring).
