[Noise] Welcome (back) to the Church

Sure, i didn’t mean that inject was not a powerful draw card, it is, only that putting programs you want access to in the bin where you can clone chip them out as needed, and other pieces in your hand is a strong combination over the straight draw of 2 every turn, at least in my mind.

Take out both those cards and play clone chip. Clone chip is so awesome in Anarch. The existence of hades shard is sufficient.

Also Pancakes, Wyldside and Inject/IHW is good.

But in the swiss he went 5-0 with RP and 1-4 with Noise.

Noise Indexing was my go-to tournament deck in the couple of months before Jackson arrived. It was a beast back then, being able to pick and choose what to trash with virus mills even if indexing doesn’t hit any agendas is amazing, but when Jackson came out I felt that having your ID and your main influence splash both hosed by the same card was a terrible idea, and I think that’s probably still the case now.

I agree with this. When you remove clone chip for 2 indexing, you also lose a lot of power that works more often, for strong power that works sometimes.

Ah, didn’t realize that. Well, you just mentioned Top 8, not the tournament as a whole. :stuck_out_tongue: But indeed, you have a point.

He used a bye though and there were 5 rounds. Does that mean he didn’t win any games with noise in Swiss?

According to Ross, he won one with Noise during Swiss. If I’m correct, everybody except Ahmed and Ben (who had 16 prestige) had 14 prestige in the cut, so if Pacer used a super bye, he went 1-3 with Noise and 4-0 with Replicating in Swiss.

So Immolation Script: 3 copies, or 4 copies?

Also, is there any way Turntable is good enough to unseat Grimoire? To be honest, I don’t find myself installing Grimoire that much unless I draw it at exactly the right time, although that may be pilot error; maybe Turntable is more worth it? It has the potential to do serious work against almost any corp, although I wonder how often it actually will.

Turntable seems like it could shore up Noise’s weakness to agenda rushing. People power out the first Nisei/Astro against you, and any rando nonsense agenda you mill can be traded for the one with the counter to slow them down. But +1 Parasite/Cache counters is still really good.

Not sure about turntable, I really dig the Grimoire.

Re: Immolation Script - probably just 1 or 2. You will only want to use it once probably.

IMO Turntable is certainly good enough on paper to test. Sniping Nisei/Astro/Atlas tokens is obviously good but the added value from sometimes trading up in agenda points seems just as significant to me.

In a glacier strategy, Corp wants to score 2+2+3 to win and make Runner score 2+2+2+2. If you steal a 2-pointer and trade it for RP’s scored Future Perfect or Blue Sun’s Priority Requisition, then the proverbial tables have definitely turned.

I think Turntable is a really insteresting console, it sounds so great swaping an agenda against an active astro / Nisei.
But it will hurt both money (Cache) and Ice Destruction quite hard.
Im looking forward testing it out, swapping some other deck slots as well to compensate for the missing grimoire, mostly getting back to three Sure Gamble and three Datasuckers again.

The actual effect is that the Corp will try very hard to score 2+2+3 in that order if at all possible. I’m unsure whether this slight change in behaviour has a significant impact on how the game proceeds. I’m dubious. Worth testing, for sure.

I think it’ll be rare to actually swap against an active Nisei. Rather they will spend their counter early on for less value instead of hoarding it to defend Caprice. Still good of course but it’s not like they will get blown out.

IMO this hurts Blue Sun and HB Glacier the most (especially kills Domestic Sleepers) because they often have to score a 5/3 whenever the window arrives because if they hold it in HQ they’ll eventually lose it to Legwork. Since TFP is so busted, RP will more often be able to delay TFP until the end.

Yeah, the damning things about it vs RP are that (1) TFP is so good that you can wait forever to score it most of the time and (2) if you want to nug a Nisei you need to steal an agenda AFTER they score Nisei.

It’s not like it will never come up, but I suspect Grimoire is probably better. Could be close though, especially if people are playing non RP glacier for whatever special snowflake reason.

It’s because we can’t do it as well as you Dan. Nobody chooses to be second best at something.

Do y’all prefer Sure Gamble or Daily Casts? I’ve been feeling Daily Casts recently, since you usually don’t need money right now, and you can squeeze 6 credits out w/ Aesop’s vs. the 4 SG gets you. And it has a lower activation energy.

RP Glacier is like easy mode and besides, that’s so 2014. Real scrubs play NBN Glacier and make it work!

Both are top tier money options, I always make space for both in Noise.

My last decklist, that i used at the Göttingen Regional, used both, but only two Sure Gamble.
I say Daily Cast is stronger, especially with an activ Aesops, but sometimes, that burst four really helps, for stuff like first turn Sure Gamble, Inject, Daily Cast, Hotel. I had that turn in a game on the Regional, so strong!
