Anyone have thoughts on Hades Shard? I’m thinking it will be very solid. Install for free when they use Jackson and then you’ve got a major threat. Very tricky as far as rules if it goes head to head against Jackson, could lead to a few disputes.
I’m going to have to reiterate how good 2x Atman is in this archetype. With D4v1d and maybe one other breaker to support, it’s great. It means you don’t have to Parasite everything to maintain easy access if you just leave the convenient strength ICE around, and strengthens the matchup with glacier, which I’ve found to be the toughest.
Hades Shard seems excellent. If nothing else, you’ve got a window between them rezzing Jackson and them using Jackson where you can fire it. Might be fired early, but even so, can force them to blow through Jacksons because they can’t afford to wait, necessarily.
I think you don’t actually have that window. Each player activates as many paid abilities as they like then passes priority right?
The hard part is you’ll have to be careful and deliberate with what you say. Basically there’s a window between each click and if it’s your turn you get to do things first, as many things as you want.
Say the runner installs a virus, mills a card and the corp immediately tries to Jackson. The runner can say “Hold up, with my priority I am going to use Hades Shard. But if the runner says, “Install parasite install datasucker” (…and use Hades)” the corp can interrupt and say “Wait, before the Datasucker is installed I’m going to use Jackson Howard.” Now if the runner is deliberate and says “Click one, install parasite. Click two, install datasucker.” I would argue that uhh, the sentence is long enough for the corporation to have interrupted.
Alternatively, if the corporation scores an Accelerated Beta Test, because it’s their turn they get a chance to use Jackson first. As a runner I wouldn’t even say “Done?” I would just wait for my turn and actually probably do it right after installing a virus click one.
I was going to post a question about this in the rules thread. Feel like we need a comprehensive post about the timing for Hades vs Jackson on both the Runner and Corp turns.
I posted my current decklist earlier in the thread. I run full fixed breaker suite with Parasites and Suckers (of course). I run 1 or 2 D4v1d. Djinn is a must.
HQ just isn’t a very good option for most Noise lists, IMO. I run one Nerve Agent but I’ve never had a game where HQ was vulnerable enough to make it worthwhile. I’m probably going to cut Nerve Agent altogether.
Even with the amount of milling my list does, you can’t keep the Corp from getting ICE. It’s just not gonna happen in 9 out of 10 games. It’s easier to deny ICE with Parasites than with mill, and even with 2 or 3 Deja Vu, you average only about 6 ICE kills per game.
Another #Noiseproblem is that you can’t face-check with impunity once you have a Djinn going. As I have learned, losing a fully loaded Djinn will often lose you the game. Ichi’s, Rototurrets, and (god forbid) Archers aren’t that uncommon, across many factions and identities. IMO you are either face-checking before Djinn is out or not until you have a Killer (or other Sentry breaker).
I can see how your list has problems Moist, try:
+3 Daily Casts
+2 Crypsis
-2 Hemorrhage
-1 Djinn
-2 Lamprey
I bet a lot of those destroyer problems will go away once we get our Cerberus breaker.
I’ll try this. I’ve been on the fence about Daily Casts; I’ve played with and without it. My econ is so slim that sometimes it will sit in my hand for two or three turns without me being able to play it. That’s why I cut it. I will give Crypsis a shot, but my econ is so light. I rarely am sitting in double digit credits. Can’t hurt to try, though. I am not sure about cutting the 2nd Djinn, though; I really need him early; otherwise once my breakers come out I have to start trashing Suckers. Will give your edited list a spin for awhile on OCTGN; thanks!
Still, no one has given me advice on how to recover with Noise shop after a big purge.
@Thike I am very excited for Cerberus
Most of the builds aren’t reliant on datasuckers, even just selling them to Aesop’s half the time. Lamprey increases your purge vulnerability.
I think your issue is not so much a purge problem as it is a lategame problem. Primarily because your economy is a bit weaker. Crypsis and a pile of credits can threaten anything.
Is the influence 2 Atman, 3 cache, 3 pawnshop?
Yeah. Check out CrimsonWraith’s list above. I run something very similar.
I love it when the corp purges, it’s like my favourite thing. I give up my turn to slow you down a bit. Wonderful!!!
Hello everyone,
It seems Noise is a verry specific Runner to play and “entering his church” ain’t easy. It takes a unique mind set to play him right it seems.
I’m mostly an Andie player so there is a lot of work here ^^
I’m going to try out the 2 atman version.
I have a few questions about some cards if you can explain to me a little
Déja vu : i understand this is for virus recursion. But it seldom helps in the early game. I often struggle in the early game (i was playing the german nationals winner list last time i played) i suppose they are really needed for the mid late…
Same old thing : if this is only for playing 3 more déja vu… it feels like overkill to me but i’m surely wrong ! And i do understand they can be aesop food… but that’s what they did 80% of the times i played them… I guess they are meant as easy mark that can become deja vus…
Dirty laundry : without desperado, it sounds like a risky and not always easy to use econ card ?
Armitage : I don’t see any list using it… it sounds nice with aesop but i guess you need the clicks for installs and runs…
Djin : I see some lists using it and tutoring seems interesting but it really feels like they are redundant with wyldside…
Atman : do you need the two copies ? I mean it could be replaced with a special order and save one influence…
Rototurret : How do you cope with it ? With no mean to parasite it midrun, losing a 4 str atman could be backbreaking…
I want to try an “easy to play” Noise first and i will go with crimson wraith’s list. But with only 2 atman, 1 corroder, 1 David and the Parasites, it feels really low on the icebreaker side…
Thanks for all the hints and help you guys can give me !
The way I see it, Dirty Laundry should not be used unless you were going to make that run anyway. In which case it’s as valuable as Sure Gamble. If it prompts you to check Archives to see 3-6 milled cards, that’s cool. It’s not (good) turn 1 econ like it is in Andy.
Same Old Thing for Deja-Vu Cache/Parasite is worth it.
I’d like to try CrimsonWraith’s list before I write it off, but it looks a bit short on breakers to me too. Not sure how it fares vs a fast corp deck.
My feeling with Noise is you back yourself vs. Glacier due to your ID ability, but need to build vs. speed. Weyland and NBN put you under a lot of pressure. Not sure that 3 proper breakers is sufficient, but I’m willing to believe I’m wrong.
I go back and forth on Wyldside. There are times when it’s brilliant, and others when it really isn’t. I wonder what it would have to cost if it were a ‘may’ rather than a ‘must’ ability… ELP really, really stings when Wyldside is on the table, which is another reason for Dirty Laundry/Stimhack/Scrubbed
I often eat my wyldside when im in need of the clicks. Its a may-effect with pawnshop, as you can pawn it before you lose the click.
And a dirty laundry in starting hand is great, play 1-2 cheap virus , laundry archives is a very good start for noise.
Offtopic.
Just want to say that your list is the best deck I’ve ever seen sinse “the deck” was published. Some moves like dropping sure gambles, including quality times with 3x of aesop, wyldside and deja vu are just brilliant. Thank you a lot for this list. It gives me much inspiration.
How do you go through Lotus field with your rig ?
Luckily for me those aren’t out in Africa yet. I will probably have to include either knights or a crypsis to deal with it when they are though. Preference would be to drop one Yog for Crypsis. Knights would work fine. I might drop to 2 each of the breakers and play 3 knights but would need to test and see how many people are using those. My gut feel is knights would help with ice destruction too. Will see
I can tell you for certain that you will definitely see a lot of Lotus Fields. It is so strong against many of the best cards in the meta : Yog, parasite, datasucker and always a decent ice against most used breakers.
