Never play hate cards in a new format. I’ll play them if I consistently die. So far I’ve been fine.
How are ya finding the 1x Faust thus far. Might’ve saw a tad bit of your reasoning on slack but can’t remember. Always tempted to cut down to 1x myself for deck slots.
I always play 1. I hardly ever use him. He only gets installed as a safely valve or in emergencies.
Doesn’t seem far from my list. I think 3 Lamprey has been right for a while, the card is so good. I might remove the IHW from this list but they’re good vs NEH and I’ve not seen how prevalent Haarp is just yet. They can be flexed into whatever nonsense you want though. 3 D4V1D sounds bad with Corroder as well, if you’re running 3 D4V1D surely you don’t want any copies of Corroder?

I don’t think you want to start playing Strike over Clone Chips. I’ll happily pay 3 inf for a Chip as Noise. I’m extremely wary of any influence spread that’s not 3 Parasite, 3 Cache, 3 Aesop and 1 Chip.
If they have 2 wraps you don’t want to keep playing D4v1d with only 1 Clone Chip. The 3 D4v1d and Corroder have all pulled their weight. With Archangel going 3x in more and more NBN decks I feel I can only justify my Shez if I have 3 D4v1d.
Do you really need the Clots? Try going without them. Lamprey has new-found teeth in that match-up. Especially if you run 2 medium.
If they have 2 Wraparounds on a server then surely you should just wait for your Corroder or go pressure another server? I think you want 2 D4V1D + 1 Corroder or 3 D4V1D, both seems very overkill.
I was playing 0 Clot and 3 Lamprey pre MWL. Lamprey hasn’t gotten any stronger versus NEH, probably a little weaker, their decks run a little lower to the ground post MWL (less Architect/Ichi, more Turnpike, more Quandary). Most importantly, I think NEH will be far stronger now than it was post MWL and it (very speculatively) looks to be the only tier one Corp that Noise will struggle with at all so I don’t mind adding in some Clots as otherwise their Noise matchup only got better with the MWL, and it was already the problem matchup for Noise.
Lamprey is better against them because they cannot Architect HQ, which many good players knew to do.
Again, the 3 D4v1d is for the prevalence of Archangel. 4 cost 6 strength face-check punishment is a HUGE problem for aggressive Noise play. 2 D4v1d was fine before with 3 CC support, but since I NEVER want to Deja a D4v1d, I really want 3. I also expect Blue Sun to make a huge comeback and the more D4v1ds you have against them the better.
One of the great things about D4v1d is it makes a lot of the big ice a real gut-check to Rez for a pretty small investment. That big ice is usually what Noise has trouble with. Parasite is still your first breaker.
I think MWL has made Blue Sun (glacier, at least) a fair bit better - PPVP Kate was the primary predator (maybe as for all Corp decks). Noise can have issues with that deck. Any room for stimhack or a knifed or 2? Maybe where that corroder is at the moment?
I think that’s exactly right influence wise. And Noise was really pretty settled, I don’t think we suddenly need to re-invent the wheel here.
You can have a second clone chip for Aesop and a Cache. I think that’s worth thinking hard about (and trying out).
Maybe, I just know how much Noise slows down without Aesop’s around quickly. You have to play a totally different game then. I think it’s still a far more important card for him than CC.
Almost quite positive that the answer is no.
I’ve tested 2 Aesops and it has been universally bad. Even when I was on 3 IHW 3 Inject 2/3 Earthrise draw package (before AC). Extra copies will always be fine, given the ability for the corp to trash him.
It’s extra unfortunate, because Hades Shard has won me a ton of games with Noise, and can’t really be included unless you drop an Aesops or a Cache.
I ran a variant with 1 career fair 1 hades. Great with WS/AC and DC, but that turn where you hades from 4 and your opponent scrambles to jackson and you shake your finger…priceless.
Or parasite. I really miss it too.
Do you really think the Cyberfeeders are better than Daily Casts? Also, how’s the single Mimic treating you? I’ve been thinking of slotting two Mimics since RP seems to be making a comeback and you can’t rely on Clone Chipping Parasites for Tsurugi and Komainu
I wish I understood the hate on cyberfeeder, and the constant comparison to daily casts.
Daily is worse than feeder is so many ways.
Feeder easily gets you 10+ credits/game. Daily gets you 5 with a higher setup cost and tempo hit.
At the point where feeder is no longer worth playing, Daily is also a waste of time, as you probably have Aesops online by then.
1 Mimic has been fine. I install it very rarely, pretty much only against architects.
The problem is that Cyberfeeder is a bigger tempo hit than Daily Casts. It costs one less, sure, but it pays off a lot slower. It doesn’t gain you any credits and is only really good when you’re going. Cyberfeeder isn’t a card that gives you any money.
The problem Noise has isn’t maximising the most credits he can possibly gain from each card during a game, you just need enough to get going. Cyberfeeder makes Noise’s nut draws better (and/or is better when you find your other bits for it to be less painful to take the hit) but doesn’t help the draws where you struggle the first few turns (and in those draws, you often don’t want to be installing viruses). Once you’ve got Wyldside/Pancakes and Aesops going and you can install viruses to your heart’s content, you don’t need any more econ, you just need to get the game to that point. I don’t hate Sure Gamble in Noise for this reason either.
Something that is somehow ignored is the fact that Cyberfeeder never gains you any credits. Cyberfeeder just makes it cheaper to install viruses, and when Noise can do that and still be happy economically he doesn’t need the help anyway. You’re not gaining credits if you have to install Datasucker to use up your Cyberfeeder credits for the turn (and you’re down credits compared to if you’d clicked for one). Cyberfeeder’s good when Noise has got properly set up, but Noise’s problem isn’t being good when set up, it’s setting up in the first place.
