Street Peddler will be great in Hayley.
It is like… Clone Chip? I guess in that it installs in a paid ability window. I think it’s a little more restrictive than that, but that’s The Anarch Way.
Heh. You can install Activist Support at the end of the Corp’s turn. Then Chopbot/Aesop’s it.
I think FFG may have been a little too liberal with expose. Instant speed multiple BP removal? BP to me should be difficult to acquire and difficult to remove. This makes BP kind of trivial
Expose is too easy. It’s better than the next easiest card, Witness Tampering, by a good amount.
Witness Tampering is: 2 clicks, 4 bucks, remove 2 BP.
Expose is: 3 clicks, 4 bucks, remote 2 BP… or leave it on the table to bait runs, or spend 1 advancement more to increase the amount of removal, etc.
I’d very happily use a ‘no downside trap’ to do-away with a few points of BP, especially if it’s key to a runner’s plan. If anything, this just craps on stuff like Frame Job even harder.
Yeaaah. Pretty sure it’s mean as a nerf/check for Valencia (which of course NBN gets, why not?) but it’s just… it’s just so good. If it was like GRNDL Refinery and took a click to use, that’d be one thing. But it’s just 2 to rez, takes 3 to trash, and can trash itself at instant speeds once it’s in play.
Plus side, it’s useless to draw a second one most of the time, so getting and keeping an Investigative Journalism on the table will no doubt help. And if your deck doesn’t give itself BP then you’re going to be having it almost solely for Valencia.
Still sucks for the Runner, because Frame Job and IJ are really nice, but it can be Drive By’d and hurt in other ways. If Valencia can make it now, Expose will hurt, but if she gets any other tools to help and even that out I think she’ll end up being okay.
Plus, there’s the point raised elsewhere: there might soon be enough Tier 2 runner decks (with the surge of new and very different Anarch builds alone, even) that teching against everything will be almost impossible.
This is almost certainly going to be the case soon, if it isn’t already true.
I’d argue it’s already the case for the Runner. You’re hitting the point where to both be efficient enough to defeat glaciers, trashy enough to defeat RP economy, fast enough and multiaccess enough to beat NEH while being sustainable and defensive enough to beat Blue Sun is impossible.
No need to argue, we’ve been at that point since pack 4, when BS hit.
On the other hand using expose is a significant tempo loss for Astrobiotics and Blackmail play doesn’t phase them as much. So I’m not too concerned about it being in NBN. In fact it’s probably the least powerful in that faction right now.
So, snow-jax is back. We are getting a few hints from SanSan. Nothing definitive but:
“Crim in Underway is not Fisk, but Fisk is in this cycle.”
The IDs distribution in this cycle.
"2J 1HB 0W 1NBN 2Crim 1Shaper 0Anarch"
We get seven IDs, my guess is that NBN gets an ID in the 5th pack, [Since we are getting some Hollywood related cards in that one] and Fisk + CP Jinteki in the last one. Since Chronos Protocol is all about the Fisk industries in the flavor.
About Eater
"There’s a similar card coming for Shaper. Anarch is getting a card that pairs, IMO, really nicely with Eater."
Not sure what that could mean for shaper.
About the Underway Crim
"He’s interesting, but I think he’ll be lumped in with Exile: neat on paper, but realistically, not enough cards to support the ability."
Janky criminal. Bring it on!
Interesting, and most assuredly an NBN big box right after to balance the ID distribution.
Well, definitely, right? The only question is what else will be in that box?
Well, if it’s ability has something to do with these crappy one-shot cloud breakers, jank for sure, right? Also I suspect The Jank is going to be strong with Fisk too, lol.
IDK, Fisk could be good if he got some cards that help him. Imagine a Criminal Current that reads “Whenever the corp discards a card, he must discard it at random”, that could hugely benefit him flooding the corps hand. Or something that reduces the corp handsize, like a virus that did than in the original Netrunner.
But yeah ever since I saw those cloud breaker I was intrigued, they really don’t fit with anything that we have seen out of criminal yet. But if we get a runner that could reliably recur them they could at least be usefull.
Sheesh. I just remembered I must try my best to avoid anything Snowjax related for a bit. Am really looking forward to opening some packs without any idea of what’s in them.
Sounds suspiciously similar in impact to Nyarlathotep in CoC. Turns out, printing a card that takes one of the premeditated, strategic decisions (“tough choices”, even) of the game and makes it completely random for the opponent is not a healthy thing for the overall enjoyment of the game.
(also see: Caprice, if you’re one of those people )
honestly Fisk should just force them to draw 2.
I’m still wondering what Faust is, I hope it gets spoiled soon.
I’m really quite happy NBN got easy bad pub removal at non-trivial influence cost. Of all the corps I want to see more scoring out of a remote it’s NBN, so why discourage them with a Blackmail runner?
The point about encouraging remote-based play is an excellent one.
Also, it’s a goddamn News Corporation. Literally their entire livelihood rests in manipulating public perception. If that doesn’t qualify you for “good bad pub removal”, I have no idea what would.
