This is by no means definitive, and I don’t claim to have all the answers- just some extra playtesting. I’m only running each shard to test which one fits APEX best. Retrieval Run may not be necessary with a different plan for apocalypse, though it is nice if you faceplant a destroyer sub early. Dirty Laundry helps reward APEX for what APEX is already doing. I will probably drop the 3 Notoriety in favor of something better. I REALLY want to slot 3x Spoilers to add a potential mill if APEX loses the score-tempo race
I think spoilers it’s a fine addition, cheap, and can be trashed when it’s worthless, and if you get 3 of them online early, that’s nasty

Would be more appropriate for the little baudot monster?
Playtested against Apex.
Architect rebuilt my entire board after Apocalypse.
I almost think it’s worth it to run Crescentus just to ensure that the Architects go bye-bye.
Thematically, architect and apex must have a rivalry, seeing either entity trump the other is a splendid display
Looks like a question mark ?
Wow- that’s cool, and yes, I believe APEX would approve, though I dare not speak for APEX
Just stay offline and hope the power grid doesn’t get shutdown, what’s a digital entity gonna do to you?
Skynet
One thought that keeps coming up for me is that it would be substantially harder to recover from the Apocalypse if the runner is attacking your hand via discard. Something like:
Event (25)
3x Sure Gamble (Core Set)
3x Prey (Data and Destiny)
2x Kraken (Humanity’s Shadow)
3x Dirty Laundry (Creation and Control)
3x Apocalypse (Data and Destiny)
3x Day Job (Order and Chaos) • • •
2x Quality Time (Humanity’s Shadow) • •
1x Déjà Vu (Core Set) ••
1x Hacktivist Meeting (Breaker Bay) ••
2x The Maker’s Eye (Core Set) •• ••
1x Indexing (Future Proof) •••
1x Wanton Destruction (Order and Chaos) ••••
Hardware (5)
3x Heartbeat (Data and Destiny)
2x Chop Bot 3000 (Order and Chaos) • •
Icebreaker (5)
3x Endless Hunger (Data and Destiny)
2x Mimic (Core Set) • •
Program (3)
3x Harbinger (Data and Destiny)
Resource (7)
3x Hunting Grounds (Data and Destiny)
3x Wasteland (Data and Destiny)
1x Utopia Shard (All That Remains) •
Feels like Mimic is going to cover the majority of annoying pieces of ice you’re likely to see a lot (mostly Architect, Komainu & Caduceus). Enigma on a central is going to temporarily delay the Apocalypse but luckily it’s not too hard to eat with Prey. Crick is pretty bad, but at least if your plan is to blow up the world whatever it installs is going away too. Note that Endless Hunger is not an AI (somehow) so it doesn’t die to Swordsman.
There are all kinds of random things that may not totally blow you out but are really problematic. RSVP in front of economy assets or Crisium on a central, for example. I think that’s just the territory you’re in. Like Eater MaxX, you have powerful effects to deliver, but haterade against you is potent.
I don’t know whether Apex is going to be actually good (tbh I strongly doubt it) but there’s definitely an appeal to having a plan of playing Warhammer: Invasion against the corp’s Netrunner deck. Rock/Paper/Scissors/Anteater?
edit: just realised, oh god, grail decks are a nightmare. wat do?
all i can say is, Here comes the gingerbread man!
Perhaps the ginger/hate connection is going to be a thing
I wonder why people do not use one all nigther or two is theirs decks. An archive run after apoc seems to be fun.
Because you would play All night - Apoc the turn there is an agenda on the field.
That way the corp would less likely rez ice on centrals in need of credits for their scoring server. Third run would be on the most rezzed central server. If the corp rezzed everything, delay the all-nigth apocalypse and run the scoring server, if not NOM-NOM-NOM run archives NOM-NOM-NOM

[/quote]Nope, sorry, that’s a non-virtual resource.
As with most things in life, the answer is drugs. Amp yourself up!
Or just import apocalypse, for the lulz
Apocalypse could be nuts in geist. Trash breakers during runs, draw cards. Reset board. Combien with hyperdrive for more fun.
Sadly, I have a feeling that this will actually be the legacy of Apex: the 1-of Apocalypse in Eater decks that are willing to pay 3 inf for an industrial-strength reset button.
4±strength destroyers in general and Grails in particular all absolutely murder the Endless Hunger primary breaker plan. That 4 mem size is just totally brutal. Scooping to Grails is pretty terrible, but scooping to just an Ichi is totally unacceptable. Having Endless Hunger get killed by Ichi/Grim/Nebula/etc and then having to sac 4+ cards to kill it with Prey seems awful too.
Maybe you have to play Eater as well as Mimic and plan to blow up the world if you can’t get accesses any more. Playing both may mean you need more MU, which would be awkward. Box-E? 1 inf, but the 4 cost is very pricey. For once, Memstrips is not the answer! Back to the drawing board…
Whilst i’ll agree that high strength destroyers are a problem, Hunting Grounds does provide a sizable counter to Grail through the removal of any surprise subroutines. Galahad becomes trivial, Lancelot is dealt by the your Mimic (or other sutable killer), Merlin can be tanked with either your hand or Heartbeat. You can even stack them, preventing even a three stack of awful grail nonsense!
the A in ANR no longer stands for Android
