Either of those would be ok in the sec testing slot, but I’m partial to the pressure Sec Testing applies. Also, I don’t think anyone’s trashed it against me even when I went tag-me?
I think I’ve had it trashed once? I do like the pressure it applies as well, but getting to Siphon lock as fast as possible against rush/FA decks might mean dropping it for extra draw unfortunately.
Which do you like better: fall guy or Sim visage? I’m thinking fall guy since it pays off faster
EDIT: Also notably, nether of those cards speeds your deck up; they’ll just recompense you for time spent drawing. FIS will be a nice trial, for sure.
I honestly have no idea. I’ll test both and see what I think. Fall Guy works a bit better than Visage once the whole ball starts rolling, while Visage could be better in the set-up phase before you float tags.
You’re right that they don’t really speed anything up, but they might make digging and set-up a little less painful. I could see FIS backfiring because it can help feed the Corp econ to blunt Siphonspam.gif, but if you are stealing extra points because of it then I think that’s a win.
In terms of startup-cost fall guy is 3 creds and a click cheaper. It will take SV over 4 subsequent turns to catch up. Also Fall Guy is not unique and can be used on the corp turn for a bit of flatline protection if needed. Especially in an aggressive deck like this, not sure you guys really need to test that one.
I’m enjoying the 2 peddler, Rex/corroder, list from a while back. I put 3 crescentus in. I’m not sure that’s right. QT in the peddler slot might be good.
Had a good night. Split with NEH fastro when I couldn’t find a fracter in about 25 cards I lost. But when we tried again it came out much better. Beat some jinteki and HB.
I don’t love the Weyland matchup. That’s my main concern.
I too had a good Geist night. I’m running my original list -1 plascrete, -1 faerie +1 shiv +1 SoT. Landed at least 5 siphons against blue sun and shut down tollbooth, lotus and curtain wall. Lots of economic warfare. Also beat the new hb identity, but lost to Argus scoring out after opening an archer sized window. He played it super.
Might switch a SoT to a third Crescentus, since seeing Crescentus earlier is better than an extra SoT Siphon, i think.
Street Peddler was also great. If anything i want to get faster in the early game. If i set up faster than the corp can, i won’t really need medium to keep them down. Parasite would be nice, but it’s matchup dependent and street peddler is always good early.
For everyone having issues with influence I’d recommend trying to play with Inti instead of corroder. Depending on what your running (I play 2 grappling hooks/2 E3) it works great. Also… peacock really isnt that bad… for a backup breaker, you don’t need Zu
What’s the rest of your build? Inti would make my tear my eyes out playing against Himitsu Bako and any reasonably high barriers like Eli. Ideally you’ll want to use Spike on Eli, of course, but having the option of siphoning through Eli without Spike on the table is really quite useful. Not to mention the nightmare of killing Blue Sun’s giant barriers without Corroder (though if you’re running 2grapple/2e3, that issue is less important for you).
Cerberus Rex is doing fine for me right now and is generally cheaper than Peacock. I agree that the options within Crim are good enough to not run Zu.13 if you’ve got the B&E suite going on. I still couldn’t imagine dropping Corroder for anything, though; any other fracter is going to limit your options a lot, and the deck thrives on being able to put pressure on anywhere.
I’ve posted the majority of my list a few times and its only had minor changes since but I’ll throw it up again .

As for Inti/Mimic/Peacock I wanted to fill in the gaps for the B&E without stretching my influence thin. While yes bako sucks most lists are not running more than 2 and with E3 Eli is a cake walk which frees up some spikes. Inti fills 2 main tasks 1. Wraparound 2. Boosting B&E for 0. Mimic because it’s just that good. Peacock because it’s not that bad especially if I already have E3.
With 3 Street Peddlers, why the Legwork and Maker’s Eyes over Interfaces?
Also, still not sure I’ll ever really understand the Tri Maf over an extra Kati?
The rest of it looks good. No Faeries makes me pause, but it looks like a good UWC build for Geist.
Probably for Same Old Thing.
If NBN tagging goes crazy after Data & Destiny, I’m pretty sure tag-me Geist just folds, right? Closed Accounts is already a pretty strong counter to the deck and those decks will be sure to have at least 1 copy somewhere.
Maybe Crash Space > Plascrete, then always clear siphon tags?
Maybe play Lawyer Up? Or Paper Tripping?
Also, with Quantum Predictive Model and Keegan Lane being a thing, does that mean you need to include Quanju PT, Dorm Computer, or NACH?
Lawyer Up maybe, Paper Tripping no. You can’t use it after Siphon and they’ll closed accounts you down.
Siphon Spam Geist is a lot worse, I think, in a meta rife with Closed Accounts no matter how you cut it. Leaving aside the massive money gains, I was generally siphoning early in a turn and then applying pressure on the remote. That’s not nearly as feasible (especially SoT Siphon) if you’re afraid of Closed Accounts or other nasty abilities turned on by one or two tags.
I like Dorm Computer, but it doesn’t work with Siphon The motorcycle doesn’t help with the general clickiness of tag removal, either. le sigh.
EDIT: Fall Guy with NACH wouldn’t be terrible, but it would weaken the deck, definitely. I think the clicks are more important to save than the money. Another option is to run Decoy and only use 1 for each siphon, clearing the other the old fashioned way. That makes SoT Siphon a single-turn affair (3 clicks for Siphon and 1 to clear, having dropped the other tag with Decoy) and playing Siphon out of hand leaves 2 pressure clicks free, which is probably sufficient. Definitely hurts, though! We’ll have to see how taggy NBN goes. If I have anything to say about it, it’s going to be a nightmare
Lawyer Up is pretty damn good with Siphon but Geist’s hand is already full. Plus if you keep a bunch of tools to bomb the Corp with in your Grip Lawyer Up just clogs it up even more. I love LU, but I think it’s reserved for ‘Good Stuff’ Crims that don’t hold a lot of Shutdowns or tricks.
Yeah Siphon spam is probably dead for sure. I was saying more about Criminal or Siphon in general. Standard “Good Stuff” Criminal might just be done.
Also, I forgot about Forger. But that means getting rid of Desperado which is sad panda.
We’ll see, for sure. I’m still gonna play with it and it’s totally possible that those NBN matchups are not going to be a problem otherwise. I mean, even if the switch is just to put Dyson in and hang back a bit more against that particular matchup, that doesn’t make it much worse than playing against killy-NBN right now as it is, and Dyson + natural link will help against the tracer ICE, as will the B&E breaker suite. It’s hard to tell where it’ll all end up right now, but I can definitely see the meta shifting against Siphon Spam. Fortunately Geist himself has a few other builds that would still probably be interesting if that happens.
Pretty sure Forger is not worth it. Decoy is better if you want to clicklessly dump tags and it lets you play Desperado.
Geist certainly isn’t dead at all, you just may need to go less all in Tag-Me, and maybe go with a click-less econ based style like UWC / Data Folding, or go back to Kati? Time will tell.
The new resource seems interesting since I’m generally installing a card a turn once Geist gets rolling with all the Clone Chips and Clouds, and that turns into respectable cash in short order + you gain a Card off the Trash. Not terrible.
I never claimed Geist was dead, just the siphon spam version is possibly toast depending on the post d&d meta. Geist himself is pretty diverse in how you can build him. I suspect that Sunny will be better at the resource trickle game than Geist will, though.
