The Old Witch - Lady Baba Yaga Thread

Yeah. Cold read also can let you do some soft resets of your stealth stuff onto yaga, when it actually is economical.

Ok deck try 2 after having some issues with my andy deck (I suck at criminal) here is a Baba Hayley deck that has been getting me wins:

Witches and Pitchforks

Hayley Kaplan: Universal Scholar (Breaker Bay)

Event (4)
1x Levy AR Lab Access (Creation and Control)
3x Scavenge (Creation and Control)

Hardware (9)
2x Astrolabe (Up and Over)
3x Clone Chip (Creation and Control)★★★
1x Plascrete Carapace (What Lies Ahead)
3x R&D Interface (Future Proof)

Resource (19)
3x Aesop’s Pawnshop (Core Set)
3x Daily Casts (Creation and Control)
1x Film Critic (Old Hollywood)
2x New Angeles City Hall (Future Proof)
3x Professional Contacts (Creation and Control)
3x Sacrificial Construct (Core Set)
1x Same Old Thing (Creation and Control)
3x Technical Writer (Data and Destiny)

Icebreaker (6)
2x Baba Yaga (Martial Law) ●●●●
1x Faerie (Future Proof) ●●●
1x Gordian Blade (Core Set)
1x Inti (Creation and Control)
1x Pipeline (Core Set)

Program (7)
3x Cache (The Spaces Between) ●●●
1x Clot (The Valley) ●●
1x Paricia (Creation and Control)
2x Self-modifying Code (Creation and Control)
12 influence spent (max 15-3★=12, available 0)
45 cards (min 45)
Cards up to Martial Law

Deck built on NetrunnerDB.

Triple sac con helps against program trashing, allows for permaclot, and can even fake a flight of faeries. The old pitchfork engine still makes money. The breaker suite (inti/gordian/faerie) is solid against stacked ice, and at 9 credits isn’t that expensive.

Here’s the Voltron Andy deck I’ve been using with pretty good success. I prefer Passport to Yog due to the cheaper set up. Let me know your thoughts.

I’m Not Even Sure Who I Am Anymore

Andromeda: Dispossessed Ristie (Humanity’s Shadow)

Event (22)

Hardware (3)

Resource (12)

Icebreaker (9)

12 influence spent (max 15-3★=12, available 0)
46 cards (min 45)
Cards up to Martial Law

Deck built on NetrunnerDB.

That’s a better version of the deck I’ve been tinkering with! :disappointed:

I like the rig for the same reason @dr00 likes it - flight of Faeries, Houdini and inti operate decently on their own.

How about swapping one Baba for Clot?

This is why it is the professors finest hour. Throw in the recursive breakers, some Imp, Femme and Test Run with Scavenge, toss a Clot, add Faerie and Morning Star, Sharpshooter and Yog to round it out (cause where’s the room for stealth?)

Some Rebirth for good measure

Leprechaun for memory issues and general hosting jank

Freelance Coding Contact, Professional contracts and Opus for money.

Season with Quality Time to taste.

Enjoy

It’s definitely worth trying, although personally I’m not a huge fan of clot in my decks. One thing I do want to add which would definitely be needed with less Yaga is a copy of scavenge to allow for a more flexible set up. Probably in place of Paricia.

Ah right, I put in 2 scavenge already. It can flex clot into another faerie if you really need it, but that’s not a very efficient option.

Would you install the full baba rig in every match? I could see that you don’t need it in a few matchups (vs nbn, where inti handles all your fracting needs), but even then you might run out of Faeries without sticking them on baba.

Faerie pretty much always goes on Baba. Inti and Houdini don’t have to, it depends on the matchup.

So can you still use the hosted Icebreakers on their own? Like use them as non-AI breakers for the purposes of Turing or Swordsman?

I don’t see why not. But if you’re gonna get through Swordsman multiple times, you need to recur your Faeries each time, right?

I had it while I was building, decided that slums was much more important. Go either way.

Yes you can. It does mean recurring the fairies or, alternatively, running a mimic.

Is there an answer in these decks for Will-o’-the-Wisp ?

no but Will-o-the-wisp is not a card that sees play. If it starts coming up that would be a serious problem. However you have to build to what you will see not what you might see.

Right. I mean, we never see Will-o, although in a post Rumor Mill world, Will-o is probably a middle tier defensive upgrade and encapsulates Damon’s perspective of what a good defensive upgrade should be (based on his inverview on Winning Agenda).

Will-o with Friends in High Places and Breaker Bay is actually pretty solid… Rez it for free and put one or two of the runners breakers back on the bottom. If you can land a double Will-o it will even slow down most shaper builds as they have to money up, find and reinstall.

Still not that great, but between Baba and Heap install breakers it might be worth looking into.

Will-o sees some play in my meta, and anyway, any deck that is totally destroyed by just one card its not ok for me…

The answer to will-o is councilman or interdiction.

Some of the time. The Corp can rez it on their turn if they get wise to your plan. But then, it loses it’s surprise factor, which may allow the runner to just use the breakers on the Yaga instead. I guess if you’re going with the Councilman/Interdiction counter, also have breakers on Yaga that can get into a remote and you don’t mind put at the bottom (probably Sharpshooter and Paperclip instead of Breach).

Probably need PolOp to be safe or just hope they’re not running Will-o’-the-Wisp.
