Workshopping this idea right now. A mashup of the original Starlight Crusade Funding and the Stealth mechanic.

SCF only made sense if you could shoehorn enough Double events into your deck.
Stealth breakers were useless if you didn’t have your Cloaks and Ghost Runners, and such.

So each of these events should give you some big click compression, or some sort of discount, or do something you can’t usually do.

I really like the concept but I think modeling the effects after BlacKat type stealth effects would make a more playable archetype, where the effect is just boosted by stealth credits. Lost and found can already search for 0 cost hardware without any sacrament credits which is niche but usable. Sanctuary is good but hard to time it right so you have the right number of sacrament credits. Charity case seems like a bad deal since your draw is dead if you haven’t already played Tithe, you are paying a click + the cards + credit for each draw + 2 for Tithe + playing Tithe in a previous round, there’s no reasonable break even point. If the credits for Tithe weren’t ones you already had to earn maybe it works.

unsure if this is well written enough

There’s a similar card that phrases it like this “The first time you take damage each turn, draw 1 card.”

thing is i intentionally made it your turn, and, as you will see in later releases, only with net or meat in this instance.

Ooh that’s neat, wouldn’t mind popping that before scoring an ABT, or just freaking someone out by changing the top of R&D as Jinteki.

I had a blast with the “original” MTG card – and totally see why one might wanna reassemble this. But I would rather go with a toy for the runner than corp, personally (like to fire, e.g. awesome Concertos).

I fear the version posted would just invalidate R&D accesses. In terms of filtered draw, this is somewhat like 2 Daily Business Shows that you have to pay a credit for but you don’t see fresh cards – but if your opponent has only limited multi access, you could pretty effortless guarantee that nothing of value is on top – and you can do this at instant speed.

I asked because of the reference to trashing Cardinal Reese. Seems odd that a card would induce a cost for trashing a different specific card.

I do agree to a point. I think mainly this would serve as early game R&D protection, but once the runner has multi access it becomes much less useful. Makers Eye and Stargate don’t care if you spin the top, but this would allow the Corp to leave r&d un-iced for the first few turns (albeit at a small cost) and provide reasonable protection from single access.

This could be made as a runner card, but imo having it land on r&d makes it way more engaging, giving the runner some counterplay options. All said, I wouldn’t advocate for this card to be printed as is.

Identities with deckbuilding and “turn 0” abilities are some of the most unique and under-explored in the game, allowing you to bring bizarre and otherwise impossible decks to the table. A lot of flavor can be packed into these unparalleled feats, offering extra influence or unlimited singletons is only the tip of the iceberg. Turn 0 identities include cards with a start of game effect, like Andromeda, Adam, or NEXT Design, offering an advanced board state at the outset to carry you through the game. They can even be combined with other abilities, offering a boon to start and a payoff throughout the match.

I tried to think of an operation that would be totally busted in this context, and I couldn’t. Besides which, you might not get the one you want in your two starting hands, and then it’s gg.

You must include exactly 10 of each Events, Hardware, Programs, and Resources in your deck. When you have at least 1 hardware, program, and resource installed flip this ID.

I like the concept, but i dislike the idea of an ID that could very well be blank depending on starting draw luck.

Bankhar would be another solid choice.
