You heard it here first folks! Anthropomorphization is frowned upon at Stimhack, Romantic languages should be avoided. ![]()
I kid, because I mostly agree with you, just poking fun at your phrasing.

Oh, fuck! You’re 100% correct!
I’ve been working for years to improve on that kind of stuff – not saying “guys,” using the singular “they,” etc. It’s still easy to slip up and let that deep-rooted programming type for me, though.
Thanks for pointing that out, I really appreciate it.
Yeah, it’s really easy to slip up (and I make the mistake too sometimes), and I’d be happy if someone pointed it out for me if anyone catches me slipping up…
This is actualy pretty funny since Lukas said he hated that mechanic in the old netrunner ccg (Giving the runner the ability for further hidden information, resulting in blurring the asymetrical game)
Yeah, I asked him about hidden resources when I took my ONR decks to the FFG EC and threw down with him. He said they wouldn’t be coming back, because the information asymmetry was such a core part of the game. But this seems a bit different, since it’s so focused.
Also, I bet Damon has a slightly more open view of it than Lukas.
Depending on what sort of support Apex gets, it’s face-down cards might not be that different from cards in hand. The console, for instance, feels a lot like a better Titanium Ribs. There will probably be something that lets it turn cards face-up, but the result might not be all that different from Savoire Faire with a large grip.
So is there a new “neutral” faction identified by that symbol on Heartbeat, or does it cost Apex 3 influence to play his own console?
I’m not sure if the game will ever justify slotting “The All-Seeing I” in a deck. It’s arguably much worse than Freelancer, which is nowhere near high impact enough to deserve a slot in a competitive deck. It’s a throwback to Genesis and early Spin binder fodder.
Windfall also looks far-off from ever being playable. I imagine flipping an Event blanks both Windfall and the trashed Event. We’re seeing some low Event Haley and Noise decks, but Christ, hitting a Parasite or an Astrolabe seems miserable. This seems like binder fodder of the worst degree as well.
Speculations for the trash cost on Launch Campaign? I really hope it’s 3. New econ options excite me.
I want Sunny Lebeau to be good because I’ve always had a Timmy hard-on for Underworld Contacts. They’re not going to make her competitive on their own, and none of the Cloud breakers matter either. We’ll need another decent card that benefits from high link.
I don’t think the face-down cards will be active, from what we’ve seen?
Each runner has their own “faction”. They’re more “independents” than “neutrals”.
In part because 2 Link means opening hand Underworld Contacts is nuts. 50 cards dilutes the chances of that happening.
The 2 link also means she can very easily use Cloud breakers [including the new criminal ones] which should leave plenty of free MU to use Data Folding without support infrastructure. 50 cards makes Data Folding more difficult to find early as well.
She is probably going to be the best drip economy runner and drip economy generates more money the earlier you put it in place. 50 cards slows finding the pieces to put in place.
Does FFG will probably make new mini-faction for mega corps also? What are your thoughts about this matter?
You could, but it’s unlikely. The runners in Data and Destiny shore up a fundamental mismatch between the faction A versus Faction B deluxe design and having a different number of factions on each side.
@Ajar Apex will be using his facedown cards as a second resource. Like a slowly charging power bar Apex will gain 1 facedown card a turn to use on his other things. He probably won’t be able to flip them. Once they are installed they are just installed blank cards. He will probably have to trash X installed cards to use his most powerful cards.
The coolest things about these mini faction cards is that they will be splashable, like Lucky Find, to other factions right? They will all be very hard to pull off for regular runners because they will probably be about trashing a lot of their own cards, huge link, or whatever Adam is about.
Doesn’t work. You have to shuffle your deck before resolving Windfall effect.
Install Victoria behind Turing and rez her, who can get in now?
Duggar your whole deck, Trope your Monoliths back on top, triple Windfall for 54 credits.
Shaper playing CyberCypher ?
Stealth-whatever with Refractor ?
Gordian/Zu and 4/5 creds ?
There’s a lot of way to go through a Turing.
I remember losing once to a deck on OCTGN that used all those icebreakers that have the cloud memory, and the clause about +1 strength per installed icebreaker. He eventually got it to where he could break into anything if he needed to because everything was strength 6 or something like that. If there are virtual memory cards available (I can’t think of any, memory is always hardware), I wonder if that’s viable for Apex or possibly for Sunny, who gets the cloud benefit automatically.
Also, I already love Sunny. She reminds me of a few of my Shadowrun characters. But all these runners look awesome. Love all the corp stuff too, can’t wait to see it.
EDIT: Oh, pfft. Non-virtual resources. Not nearly as limited as I first thought. Ignore me!
Anyone with a D4V1D? Or non-Yog code game breaker? Or a Femme/Inside Job?
I mean, it’s neat, but 5 strength code gate isn’t all that. Not when the downside is a two pointer only your opponent can score.
More like Victoria in RP on a Ruhr Valley behind a Troll with ELP in play.
I like the flavor of a terrifying predatory virus building itself a body with the Cybernetics cards. Apex can splash in Titanium Ribs, Brain Cage, Skulljack, and Net Ready Eyes. It is jank of the highest order, but seems really cool thematically.
NRE is real, though, and I hope that it is also good in Apex. 3x Brain Cage could be, I think, considering it is no influence and you could just pop something with Heartbeat to negate the brain + use the other two copies as fodder for the face-down installs.
Oh man, that virus on drugs is going to be just… sick ![]()
Add 3 Jacksons, boom done (as far as inf is concerned). Simple and straightforward plan, love it!
