You definitely want an AI in a Siphon/Eater to close it out, especially with Kim because I think a Medium end game is strong with his ability. Also, Femme should be a nice splash in Eater decks, as long as you play a Retrieval Run or two.
There’s no way to have the full Data Leak/Josh.B, Masanori 7-9 card package in this deck, but there probably really wasn’t room for that in any deck. Josh is the best of the litter I think, though Masanori is nice with Eater.
And Vigil is certainly the console of choice for a credit denial deck.
Yeah, among the tag me package, DLR definitely is the least useful given that you’re going aggressive and not sitting back. Masanori seems to be necessary just for keeping up the pressure because otherwise you’d waste a good number of clicks just searching for cards. Again, I don’t know what would be the effect of a credit starved corp going credit credit trash either Joshua b/masanori would mean for the match. I’ve considered Fall Guy too but that just seems going too far on that end.
Vigil didn’t make much sense to me at first but now that you mention it it makes sense. .
Here’s a draft of what our E.Kim Siphon denial could look like. It should be able to pressure centrals pretty hard once Eater is down, but fast remote play will be a nightmare.
I don’t doubt that at all, gaining 10 credits is still great though. Question is if credit denial isn’t feasible, then I suppose the problem is them getting to rez ice and keeping you out of the servers. Which could be a problem that the cutlery solves.
Well, can’t wait for O&C to rez on OCTGN to test stuffs.
Looks good, the number of each card seems to match what I’d put in except for the 1x copy of cards which I don’t believe works in Anarch without tutors at all. The Retrieval Run + Femme play is too specific to work with 1 copy each though but that also ties to Inject. Limited recursion and limited number of program copies makes me doubt that Inject is good here.
I’m also debating whether parasite recursion or cutlery + planned assault is a better set of ice destruction tools here.
Had some play with this deck. I lost careless flatlines, but against Blue Sun and RP I absolutely dominated. I found myself having an insane early game, with Imp pressure and Kim they have to rez every ice. They can’t sit back and let me access 1 card.
2x of each Cutlery Card, 2x Same Old, and 3 Deja Vu with Prepaid meant I was paying cheap trash their ice. Consistency of getting breakers was a problem, but I really did appreciate 3x Siphon and 1x Sneakdoor. Especially Sneakdoor. Didn’t need any MU or consoles due to Eater + Medium + Corroder + flex Sneakdoor.
The deck is heavily tagme which is a problem against Weylands who draw lucky, but against RP and NEH it was a slaughter. The NEH matchup is still, well, NEH, but 3x Imp and free Siphons were cool. Architect was a nightmare but that can be rectified with good deckbuilding and slotting Mimic. In my case I was able to win just by running through it repeatedly. Pretty funny stuff.
Is the person on the card art for Human First supposed to be Edward Kim? He looks like a blue-eyed white dude, but I don’t know if Edward Kim is supposed to be the only hammer-wielding robot murderer in the Netrunner universe.
Keyhole doesn’t deny the corp operations given that you only trash one card and you shuffle the deck afterwards. You can’t attack HQ with it either. If you saw an agenda and Scorched Earth with Keyhole, would you trash Scorched Earth over the agenda?
Here’s the list I came up with, probably going to be the first Runner deck I test during my O&C Megastream. Modeled it after @edmund_blake_nelson’s Whizzard Junk list that I’ve been playing. It seems to me that Kim’s ability is the strongest within the first few turns. First turn, Corp will generally spend a couple clicks installing ICE. Assuming the classic Hedge ICE ICE opening, this leaves the Corp with 3 cards in hand. I’d say with many Corp decks, it’s safe to assume there is another operation in there, and possibly an Agenda. I really think Kim wants to get into HQ click 1; this deck’s ideal play definitely includes SMC + Stimhack click 1. Obviously, this won’t happen very often, but my concept is to pressure the Corp’s hand right out of the gate, and then do the typical Anarch thing after their shore up HQ (switch to RND, whatever).
I wonder if Personal Touch is worth considering over Zu? With some big new Code Gates out, Zu is pretty damn expensive, and still costs 4 for Lotus Field, which isn’t really sustainable in Anarch. With 1 Sucker token and PT, Yog gets through TB as cheaply as D4v1d, which seems good. Downside being that PT isn’t tutorable, and this list doesn’t have much draw, although I assume most hands with Masanori are worth keeping.
I’ve been playing a lot of SMC Anarch, and because it’s so good at pinning remotes, Nerve Agent being slow isn’t as much of an issue. There’s just a lot you can do with that 4 influence spent on Legwork, Clone Chips primarily.
I get that the Legwork + Kim is NEH hate, and it may be correct. Clone Chips are extremely powerful with both SMC and parasites though.
Yes I go back and forth between the Inject + Clone Chip route and the SMC route. Both have their pros and cons. Personally I consider Nerve Agent an unplayable card, even in Anarch. Only deck that could maybe use it well is The Professor, and I’m being serious.
just for the record i’m not telling you you’re wrong or I’m right. I’m just sharing my thoughts. I’ll elaborate.
You spoke of using account siphon with Kim as the ID. The outcome you are most looking for the most is to attack HQ and then attack RnD while they are so poor they cannot rez ICE on it. The hope, it appeared, was that between siphon and Kim’s ability you would deny the corp a bunch or money and/or combo cards.
As you go about this tactic you will find that the corporation will put a premium on ICE’ing up HQ to keep you out, or at least finding ways to rez something to deny you the account siphon money. If you are using eater (which is a common trial right now) this is not a good thing because you will not be able to access the hand (or find it too expensive to be worth it), which is where Kim’s ability is so important because corporations want to get their most important cards in their hand. So this is why I offered up that you could do this with any anarch, and not necessarily Kim.
Furthermore I commented that you could accomplish the same with keyhole, especially if the person is using eater. In the scenario presented once Kim broke the corp he would attack RnD to hopefully deny the corporation key econ or combo cards, something keyhole would do for any anarch. You could use medium instead of keyhole in the Kim option, but keyhole will allow you to deny more than one card a turn, making it more efficient toward the strategy.
to answer your question regarding what do I keyhole it changes (for me) based on how many more keyhole runs I have left in me for the turn. If I get a 3 or 2 pointer with 2 more runs left I will likely choose the agenda. otherwise Jackson Howard is always first, with ICE being the second more important. I may select kill cards instead of ICE but that depends on how many more keyholes and siphon runs I can make with certainty on the subsequent turn.
I look forward to seeing and hearing about all these Kim decks as I will get to him last.
That’s… a lot of assumptions. However I do think Keyhole isn’t really a denial card same as how Noise’s ability isn’t denial. You’ve slightly decreased their chances of getting one card because of your Keyhole, that doesn’t mean another copy of the same type of card wouldn’t be on top of their deck after the shuffle.
