I think you are probably best off with BoN running Curfew and Snare!, But maybe that is just because I can see a lot of runner pressure between Mau, BoN and Snare!
Seems Blue Sun + Midseason + Boom! (apply Best Defense if needed) is working really well in the current meta.
Not the best deck, but I think it’s working nuts on this HateBear / Valencia field.
I’ve been running into a lot of Nexus Andy, though, and it does poorly against that if they get set up. You basically have to super-rush, because once they have link, Power Tap, Citadel, and potentially even On the Lam, you’re not landing a trace tag on them ever, and if you do they’ll clear them pretty fast. That said, if you can get your agendas scored quick behind a couple of ice, they’re often too slow setting up to have both the breakers and money to get where they need.
The only real problem is Film Critic + Nexus. And they need a big setup, I think the game against Nexus - Citadel is a good one since you have Atlas for searching your agendas. Just try to take the economical lead, and rush behind light ETR ice.
An update to my above Blue Sun deck. It got 4th and then 1st again in more Store Champs. It wins games yo
All these Weyland successes warm my Consortium-owned heart.
Your ICE suite is a bit more expensive than I usually run. Any issues getting off the ground? And is Assassin worth it with all the anti-trace stuff going around?
How’s it done against the Castle/link/Nexus Andy decks? I’ve found the only way I had a chance against those was to rush before they got set up, otherwise they tended to have enough money and link that Midseasons gets turned off, and Nexus means I’m not getting anywhere with my big ice.
I’ve not had any issues getting it going. You have to prioritize where to defend, but most ice has a punishing face check so they can’t just run freely. I don’t like small ice as they don’t go with the game plan of taxing out the runner. Assassin has been really solid for me in the early game and against non-link decks it’s a very solid ice all game.
I’ve had no issues with Andy. Their money tends to be pretty limited which means they’re relying on spending money to break ice. The deck always wants to go fast in order to force them to make mistakes or run unprepared so that’s the game plan against Nexus.
I played vs Nexus Kate in the top 4 who got T1 MOpus and I managed to out money/tempo him even with Beth giving 5 clicks almost all game. Just stacked 4 ice on the remote and made him have the solution or I’d score out. Eventually he didn’t have enough and I was able to out Nexus trace him, with Midseasons Boom! as the backup. It’s why I don’t want small ice, every piece needs to tax them as much as possible.
Man, I wish Show of Force would fire when it was stolen as well.
I’ve already liked the whole idea of rolling with traps in a Weyland deck, decided to go a bit more whole-hog with the idea. Probably could use a better agenda suite, but I’ve had good luck so far. Keep runners poor if you can, keep chiseling away at their hand via Prisecs, and then when you can land the tags safely blow them up. Knocking someone down to a three hand-size due to a install-advance-advance’d Cerebral is always pretty amazing. If they don’t go for the bait, Back Channels it into more money than you probably need.

I might consider trying traps out of Blue Sun. You’re able to make money easily, and if a trap fails you can pick it up and reset it. Plus, FiHP two traps and pick them back up to play out again.
Blue Sun is in a good place right now. Sapper and Mausolous are both really solid ice and Bulwark is a nice 1 of to give Weyland some more teeth even if the bad pub is slightly anti-synergistic with BS.
WhackedMaki your latest writeup says that Sapper isn’t taxing, but it’s actually pretty annoying to Mongoose (3c rather than 1c for Cobra) so I think it’s worth going to 2x. Mongoose is everywhere right now because of all the Power Tap Andys.
Also, if you can force out a decoder early, a bad access can sometimes cripple a Criminal rig.
Alright grillmasters! it looks like the people have spoken and I will be playing Builder of Nations for my next stream. Do i go pure punitive boom kill, Anson? some combo there in?
What do people think?
I’m a fan of Trick of Light in BoN with a more rush oriented scoring plan. I haven’t tested Anson Rose myself though, as I haven’t played BoN since he’s come out.
I’d vote Anson because he’s new and I’ve never seen and him played in Builder of Nations. Actually I haven’t seen anybody play Builder of Nations since Mausolus was released, so there’s that too.

If you’re using trick of light are you going to have counters on rezzed ice for long enough for commercialisation to be worth it? Idk I always run into that problem when I try it out
I am using commercialization as a free hedge basically. I am not going for big plays with it unless I have to dump a ton of counters because anson is getting trashed.
