Is Credit Crash is pretty good for Ken/Public Terminal decks?

Yeah, the more I think about it, the less I like it. I do like that it’s an augment to advancements that you couldn’t get in any other way. It qualitatively changes the ICE instead of just adding some negligible value.

If I’m reading it correctly, the ice in the top picture seems to be

[cardname] - 4
HB Ice - Code Gate Bioroid AP
The runner can spend ClickClick to break up to 2 subroutines on [cardname].
-> The runner must trash 1 of his or her installed cards
-> The runner must trash 1 of his or her installed cards
-> Do 1 brain damage
Str: 3

Sort of like a Markus 2.0, except as a Code Gate. I like it, especially making the 2.0 ā€œdouble clickā€ ice cheaper.

Its weyland click compression. Whats not to like?

BoN would be cool with a scored Cleaners?

You’d really think twice about running a face down three advanced card without being able to break Mausolus?

Make a Jinteki alliance with snares, georgias, and…

Uh… who needs Jackson anyway?

Doesn’t seem great. But another nasty advanceable ice for Weyland and who knows.

The 12 influence part, and the fact that the runner gets to literally choose when their clicks get compressed. It’s also once per turn, so every run (and ICE encountered) after that first one is at no consequence. Also, it’s a 40 card ID, which encourages fast decks, but advancing ICE is one of the slowest moves you can make. All of this coupled with the fact that 90% of advanceable ICE are nigh unplayable makes this ID a bad card. It might get better 42 billion years in the future, but not on release.

As far as Weyland goes, I think it is amazing. Only Blue Sun is better.

The best part about Temujin Contract is that it’s effect is not an ā€œinstead of accessing cardsā€ effect, and it comes through runs which is how you actually win the game. You can name HQ, RD, or the scoring remote and actually get the credits upon the successful run. The only risk is if a remote explodes but so long as there is ICE this is a bit unlikely.

I can see it replacing Bank Jobs and even Security Testing in a lot of decks.

I’m curious, then, what you think it does that is good? You’ve said you liked it because of the supposed click compression, but how do you make that ability actually useful?

I can see it being good with cheap advancables, Space Camps, Trick of Light, maybe even Matrix Analyzer so you don’t lose speed? Plus, if you can score a Cleaners, the ping gets a lot more pingy. I would pay a click and a credit to advance an Ice Wall on RnD and do a damage every time the runner pokes in any day of the week. And if they decide not to run RnD to foil my nefarious ping damage plans, well then they aren’t running RnD! What’s not to like about that?

Also, it poops on Faust and I love that.

You just named so many terrible cards in a row that I’m not sure what to do. Trick of Light might be a thing, so there’s that.

PAD Factory a Komainu. Kill the runner!

Not every time. Only the first time each turn. I’ll take 1 meat damage and run R&D two or three times in the turn with my medium.

Okay, that’s actually hilarious. If I could like a post twice, this one gets my vote.

Nope, it’s two ā€œon encounterā€ effects on the runner’s turn, so they’d decide the order. You’d ping the damage, then Komainu would gain its subs on the remaining cards in the grip.

Edit - nevermind, as @Thike said the runner doesn’t decide the order of the corp’s effects.

NOOOOO. Dream crusher.

No, runner decides the order of their effects. Corp decides the order of corp effects.

New Metas have a way of making great cards out of terrible ones, so we will just have to see what kind of support this thing gets, if any. You only really need one ice per server that is advanced even once for this to get the full effect possible, and that doesn’t slow you down too much I don’t think.

My issue is that the ā€œfullest effect possibleā€ isn’t a good case. As a runner, I’ll take 1 damage a turn and be fine with it. Fortunately, this isn’t even one damage a turn, just 1 damage whenever I feel like running an advanced server. I agree that a new meta might make this okay, but I don’t see that happening by the time this comes out. Hell, I can’t think of a time where the runner was overly concerned about 1 damage occasionally, except PE, and that is a case that Weyland can’t replicate.
