I only use it when I can get an agenda or if I know the ice is enough where it will make the corp broke and then use other criminal tools to get in. for 1x and a double, it’s not too bad among the other cards in the deck.
Logos is good for fetching it or maybe during a Mr. Li dig. I do not like seeing it in my opening hand though. I definitely have to make more careful runs with my build.
Bribery seems far less unwieldy than Running Interference, as if you’re keeping up remote aggression, there might not be more than 1 face down ICE at a time making it a clear advantage over RI. It also seems like it would combo with inside job better, or whatever criminal tools you were planning to use.
ES is a great card in Leela. It’s a great card, period. My point to Cerberus is, for the deck slot, it doesn’t help the really hard match-ups (RP and IT department decks) and is kind of empty in the slightly easier match-ups (PE and NEH). For other glaciers it is great, but I guess I never found it essential to win with except in a very early OAI+Curtain Wall scenario. My deck is similar to the standard one around here (you/me/Cerberus/Basoon/etc seem to be in largely the same Leela boat) but with 3x Inside Jobs and 2x Sneakdoors. Anyway I think it’s worth considering as an option. Part of my thinking is I don’t feel the current Leela build here is the “best” one, though it seems really close (imo), and I am trying to figure out what the problem areas might be.
@bayushi_david: I played Kraken in my initial Leela builds. It’s like Logos in that it’s cute but I think not great in practice most times, and you definitely need 3x Same Old Thing in that case. My two cents.
Against NEH or PE, no, Bank Job is better. Against glacier decks though Bank Job and Sec Testing become obsolete cards and I have valued Lucky Find a lot more in those matchups. I believe Lucky Find makes the deck more competitive against a broader field. If your meta consists mostly of non-glacier it might be worth dropping it.
This is what I am going to be testing this week…Small variation from my other builds but getting these small things right really changes how good a deck is.
I have been very pleased with Daily Casts. One thing I really took to heart from your deck was getting your money from many different sources, and any dirty laundry I played BEFORE sec test+desperado was online felt like it would rather be something else. DC works very well with Mr. Li, as any efficiency you lose is made up for in “free” Mr. Li clicks.
Personally, I’ve had the best success with Gordian Blade, if you’re going to be importing for your decoder, I might drop the last lucky find and rejigger for Gordian. That being said, I do like Lucky Finds so that might not be a trade you want to make, but I felt like I was bleeding money with Zu.
The question was wether Lucky Find was worth the influence while Bank Job is in faction. I believe it is, because there are a lot of situations where Bank Job cannot be relied upon and I still need econ. Lucky Find is a great card to burst some of that, especially after creating a window with Leela.
Adding (more) TME on the other hand, created situations for me in testing where I had too many cards in hand I wanted to hold onto. So for me, LF is actually worth the influence. But I sense we might disagree on this subject, which is totally fine.
I also was finding myself putting down bank jobs early from hand bloat. Sometimes that’s okay, against decks that don’t have a choice, but other times it makes them way less of a useful economy piece. not to mention, shooting yourself in the foot against some of your tougher match-ups
Bank Job is less valuable if you also play Security Testing. If you don’t use Security Testing like I do I find that even against glacier decks you will often find opportunities to use it because you’re not pressuring them to not have unprotected remotes.
Gave my man @aandries this build, and he almost rocked out Chicago with it. Facing Weyland almost all day (all but one match?), with only 1 Plas (my bad), he only lost in the finals to Rob ‘Silhouette Quester’ Wiley who hit him with a Biotic/PB/SE/SE quite early in the game. Deck went 6-1 on the day, primarily due to Aaron’s solid skillz.
Shadow Boxing
Leela Patel Trained Pragmatist
15 influence spent (max 15) •••••••••••••••
45 cards (min 45)
Cards up to All That Remains
I’d still find room for Utopia Shard over the second plas. Also, Chicago has always had something off about their meta. Some people last year were talking about how Parasite had ‘never really caught on’ in Chicago.
