It is its own thing. @aandries noted he saw nothing but Crims all day, and the only RP was @Paranoid, who came with him. #MilwaukeeMeta takes 2 of the top 4 from them.
Yeah, Utopia… for what?
(btw, 'grats on your non-Leela win, @hhooo)
(btw, that #MilwaukeeMeta is now an Inside Joke; thanx to @dashakan for coining the term unintentionally)
Tried some builds without kati, but in the end settled for something really close to @Cerberus build, although with sneakdoor and unscheduled maintenance. It has been pretty good on testing, and Kati really is an all star against glacier. I want to try playing day job when O&C comes out instead of lucky find, it’s less influence and maybe can replace it (although you take a major tempo hit). Has anyone tested this already?
I’ve not tested Day Job yet, but plan to do so. (No O&C in the UK yet) My current version which is a few posts up only has 1 LF and changing this to 2 Day Job seems sensible.
I took this list to 1st place in a local 13 person winter kit tournament yesterday. It went 5-2 on the day, one loss to a Making News where I just didn’t see any money and he fast advanced it out, and one to a crazy sideways PE deck where I hit all the wrong traps. Other matches were BABW, Blue Sun and RP. No O&C here in the UK yet.
This list mostly follows the Cerberus philosopy of lots of cash and breakers. Doppleganger went in because I don’t have 3 Desperados, but at the end of the day it won games. Security testing then run is enough to make it worthwhile, but the added syngergy with Leela is really a bonus. Steal, bounce, free run, steal again happens surprisingly often. It’s definitely worth a try.
I’ll definitely test Day Job, but I’m not sure if I’ll keep it. I’ve had enough turns of Lucky Find then run that I think I’d like to keep it.
Don’t wait for the first Scorch, otherwise instead of Scorching you they’ll use the tag to trash your Utopia Shard. Fire it after they tag you with SEA or Posted Bounty.
I packed Garrote in my Andromed-Ian build, never once installed it; I hate seeing it, but I’m not sure what to play in its place. Ninja seems too old-school for what I need it to do, which is tell Jinteki to get stuffed.
As it was I only faced one JRP and managed to trolololo a win on the back of Faerie. And Sneakdoor. Always with the sneakdoor.
Isn’t that slot for dealing with Archer, Grim etc? Mimic deals with Jinteki just fine.
If @aandries wasn’t using Garrott in a Weyland heavy field then I can’t imagine what field you would need it in. Certainly I’ve never managed to find the MU and money together to ever install it.
Right. I wasn’t there, but I believe he ran aggressively v. Weyland, using Faeries and Mimics as needed. Having multiple Archers come online would be bad, but I don’t think he ever let it get to that point. Sneakdoor/Shutdown does heavy lifting there, as well.
This is what I get for posting about a different deck archetype :). I don’t have a Mimic in the build, but yeah I need to make room for one I guess. Femme might be a workable alternative, though it is even more $$$.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was tryin’ a super-team-best-breakers-evar-combo: trying to get corroder / gordian / garrote into play ASAP and then win. In reality I installed corroder, gordian, and faerie, holding on to garrote for that magic moment (which never came), and then won ;).
In regards to Garrote, I agree it’s a card that’s rarely used. Often Faerie and Mimic will get you through everything, but some matches you can get locked out by str 4 + sentry ice, it’s for those games, rare as they are. You could definitely drop it but relying on Femme once you are out of Faeries, is going to cause issues. It’s a safety net card imo.
It’s true. Ichi, Changeling and Data Raven all see play. Plus probably some others I can’t think of. Not loads, but enough that it’s worth the single deck slot.
You have tools to deal with awful ICE. I shut down an Oversighted Archer in one game. I Femme targeted something horrible another, and I believe I just left an Ichi on Archives, it was a good place for it. It was a taxing surprise, but one I was ready for.
