It's not that hard, and she's pretty hardcore - Leela Patel

two cards im curious about with leela are snitch and women in the red dress. i know its tough to fit either of those cards in a deck both from a card slot/influence perspective but if ever there was a runner who could extract value from them it has to be leela.

Mr Li helps out, especially when Logos is the only thing that will shuffle the deck. There are multiple breakers but really the key is just drawing cards like a madman.

I think I play it quite differently. Very rarely would I pay the full 4 credits for it early on before I need the MU, usually just wait for Supplier and then only when I think they might start scoring.

Double Clone Chip helps with that and they’re free off The Supplier. Instead of Test+Femme to land a Siphon I’m more likely to poke R&D hoping for a bounce or just keep poking HQ until they commit enough ice. Would be nice with Sneakdoor but it’s nice to have that as the lategame surprise with HQ interfaces out.

While I generally don’t like Leela, I played against her this weekend with Tennin (the list from worlds) and it’s a pretty brutal match-up in her favor. Now Tennin is not exactly the most common archetype seen but still…

Hmm are you thinking of using Snitch instead of Faeries? Woman in the Red Dress because Leela can pressure R&D more than most/all Criminals? Woman in Red Dress is 4 inf though, which hurts.

I’ve been playing around with WITRD too. It’s really strong if you get it down early, but it does oblige you to play Hostage, which is makes the deck even slower than normal. I’m not sure it’s worth the spot. The influence is fine, but only being able to run one copy is rough.

normally i’m leery of “really strong + if” but most of the “really strong + whenever” runner cards have been kicked in the virtual junk in the last cycle so im more open to “if” ill definitely give WitRD and leela a try when i finally kick my unhealthy Nasir habit.

WITRD is incredible pressure on the corp and untuned decks or inexperienced players will crack under it. I’ve switched back to Indexing though because of Daily Business Show.

Oh, btw my average Hades shard is 7.5 points across four activations! Number of times I’ve kicked myself for discarding it? Every time I’ve discarded it.

How do you use Hades Shard? You don’t have anything to force the corp to discard, so I’m assuming they just discard their agendas while you have the shard installed? Isn’t that a really bad play? Or am I misundertanding something about ability windows and the interaction between jackson and the shard? I would think they just discard and use jackson inmediately.

You can install it at cost and pop it before they can use their Jackson, but also just forcing them into blowing their Jackson early can be nice – though I use it more in Noise where I’ve got the extra milling anyhow.

I don’t give up scoring windows and threaten HQ heavily with interfaces. Opponents Jackson away agendas the first chance they get. Leela’s ability usually forces corp discard as well.

I install Hades Shard from grip (never supplier) and use it on my turn, the corp has no chance to use Jackson.

Yeah Hades Shard is a huge asset.

As someone who has been playing your original list (-3 Desperado +3 Logos) in the League, I am interested in this new build. a few comments:

I find that almost every Corp ICE’s Archives against me. They anticipate Sneakdoor. I guess I should test with Sneakdoor before I say anything, but do you think it will be worth it? Factor in Garrote and Sneakdoor may occasionally force difficult MU decisions.

Garrote: is this our best option? I think I am definitely going to try swapping it for Alias ASAP. The tempo hit from installing Garrote is huge, often so much that I have to install it a turn or two before I want to run, which is far from ideal. I use Faeries for early pressure if necessary, and then Garrote once I am rolling along. I am definitely going to try this 1 for 1 swap and see how it pans out. More often than not, with your list, I don’t run the scoring remote ever. I threaten to keep the Corp honest, but sometimes it’s too expensive to be worth running when there are often 2 face-down cards in it, one probably an Ash/Caprice against most match-ups. Maybe my experience is skewed since I’ve been playing against a lot of Blue Sun in the League, but Alias is definitely worth considering, I think. Freeing up that 1 MU might make Sneakdoor an easier fit, too. I also think I am going to (if not already) swap one Rex for 1 Passport. The majority of games I don’t even install a Rex, and the less I have to Special Order for Passport, the better.

Everyone else seems to be playing Indexing with Leela. I am debating trying it out. The issue is you can’t really swing it after the 3 Lucky Find, and those are definitely a huge piece for your build. Do you think there is any middle ground? Or is the influence just not there? Does Indexing make it a different deck?

Indexing x2 just forces lucky find down to 2 copies. It’s still the same deck.

I think RDI and Indexing are pretty interchangable. @hhoo is playing the version with Indexing and 3 Dirty Laudry, I’m trying out RDI and 3 Lucky Find. I don’t think it makes a huge difference.

In terms of Sneakdoor, it’s really only there to snipe Carprice off of HQ. Caprice really screws you and I felt like I’d have had the tools to beat RP had it not been for the Caprice. That’s the reason I put it in. It has other upsides, but mostly it’s just there to unlock HQ.

Garrote is… really underwhelming, but… kind of nessisary. I really wish that Alias could run remotes, but that would kind of defeat the purpose I suppose. You could try Alias, but I think that forces you to give up too much against sentry heavy decks like RP since they can just wear down your Faeries and then make a remote you can never run. Dog is a lot more durable in this regard, so it’s not really a problem with Code Gates, but with Faerie being a true one shot…you need something flexable, so we have Garrote. It sucks, but the game would be kind of boring if there was just an always good sentry breaker along the lines of Corroder and Gordian’s. The other option is to do what I did before and run Mimic and Alias, but means finding another slot (ungh…) and turning the Uptoia Shard back into a Plascrete (booo!).

Edit: The other option is Ninja, but that card sucks too much against the RP sentries. That card is basically terrible unless you oppnent is playing exactly Grim.

Valid point about Sneakdoor/Caprice. Caprice is such a game-breaking card IMO. As if RP couldn’t win without it… gimme a break. thanks for your comments though, and the deck. Leela is so fun

I wanted to try out that Andy Supplier and went with trying to squeeze it into Leela. It also made for a great choice for a deck name.

Deck built on http://netrunnerdb.com.

So originally I was running Pro Contacts over Li, with Lucky Finds, but the click for a card was not fast enough to keep a good supplier going. Another thought was Kati is great for dropping for big money and play a bunch of stuff from hand, but having cash now to be able to bring something off the supplier. So I needed something to mimic Andy’s starting draw to feed Supplier, then the combo of Logos and Leela to hammer targets, and interfaces for general pressure.

I don’t think this deck has enough economy, though.

Which deck are you referencing as “that Andy supplier”?

I don’t know how great Supplier is in general in a world where it’s increasingly harder to fit in the Runner cards needed to deal with the various successful Corps, and it would be really bad if Snatch and Grab ever became a thing.

Supplier is still not there right atm but with Earthrise Hotel being released this month, I think it’s time for some Supplier Andy to shine (still not good enough against NEH though =p)

Interfaces are slow enough as it is, and tacking onto a once per turn drop worsens it.

And yea, that “Andy Supplier” deck showed up somewhere on netrunner.db but don’t think got popular enough for discussion. It was an idea though.

I saw it on octgn once. Unfortunately as I recall I was playing my super-obnoxious balls-to-the-walls TWIY rush deck and won on turn 5 so it didn’t really get going :stuck_out_tongue:
