[Jinteki RP] Perfecting Perfection: The Best Deck Ever

But without the Crick, the Crisium would be not on R&D AND not on archives!

Anyone still playing RP with much success? Even with anti-noise tech like cerebral I’m still finding the matchup so bad I think I’m just going to give it up for a while.

I still think it is pretty powerful. It has an automatic leg up on all faust based decks because you tax their resources with the forced central run. Either they break with faust and don’t have cards to get into your scoring server or they have to install normal breakers which takes time and money. And especially since noise doesn’t run yog.0 and whizzard and maxX don’t use NRE anymore, lotus field on R&D breaks their 4x medium runs.

I have actually come around again on lotus field. It is quite solid.

only taxes 2 cards to faust for 5 credit rez, compared to other ice in that price range that’s actually really weak. I don’t even see yog anymore. Yes it can’t be parasited or datasuckered to be a 1 card tax but it’s just okay not great like it used to be.

Lotus/Eli remote v. Faust: 8 to Rez, 5 cards to break.

I’ll buy that for a dollar.

Double eli is 6 creds to rez vs 6 cards to break but yeah parasite’s a thing

Exactly. What are they gonna do? Spoon your piddly lotus field? They’d rather hold that for a tollbooth. Meanwhile they keep tossing 2 cards to lotus every time.

They would just don’t run on rnd until they find the medium and the spooned. They can always bounce and run the remote if need to trash any asset. Dumblefork vs rp is not a run fest. Whizz has to establish board position and then start pressing most of the times.

Throw in ELP for more fun.

Just tried to jam RP into a mostly Whizzard SC… pretty sure I got some sort of PTSD after round 3. It’s not pretty.

I brought the following list to a Store Championship where it did remarkably well, getting me 3rd seed despite some misplays. It’s designed explicitly to counter Faust. I’m glad I brought it considering all but one opponent were playing Faust!

Changes I would make:
Swap out Snowflake, it’s really bad. I was thinking it would be good as it costs Faust 2 cards to Bako’s 1, but it’s not worth paying a credit every run. If you want to focus even more on Faust hate, I would switch out the Tollbooth for another Ashigaru and the Tsurugi for another Komainu. You could also swap Sealed Vault for Crisium, but I like Vault more because of the RP protection. Other than that, I was very happy with the cards I used. I even got a kill with Shinobi against an excellent player who wasn’t expecting it. Noise was a tough matchup, even with the Faust hate. Not sure if adding Cyberdex is worth it for that reason. I would love to hear any recommendations or adjustments.

Booth becomes 3rd Eli. Flake becomes Crick. Restructure and CVS are nice.

I used this list to win a small SC on Saturday. Teched vs Faust but hit a field of shapers. Played it at two smaller SCs in total, going 5/7 on the weekend.
The Himitsu were in there to pull Ashigaru tricks but they only were used to stop up HQ to prevent early accesses/siphon pressure. More PAD campaigns than MHC because of Faust and Wiz. I tried Ash but really felt ELP was better, and it was. ELP was well worth the deckslot and won me a game after losing a Fetal off R&D and TFP out of HQ by turn 3.

I think the Yagura and the Komainu were standouts on the weekend. Komainu wiped an 8 card Wiz hand and Yagura consistently taxed. I was impressed.

Deck built on NetrunnerDB.

I’m playing this deck specially tech against Anarch-Faust non sense. And it’s working really fine against others id’s. My bigest concern is the time of the match (but can be more rush than the usual IG) and 2 ices, Shinobi and Archer, this deck needs huge ices and i had win games thanks of this two, but Archer can only rezzed via mutate (or chronos) and shinobi gives 1bp wich i don’t like in this deck.

Well done.

Yeah is a combo, but in this deck are useful by itself.

Pre-MWL, a reasonable agenda composition could look like those listed below.

1 Chronos Project
2 NAPD Contract

3 The Future Perfect

After spending a necessary 4 Inf on other cards (3x Jackson and 1x EBC), we’ve got 11 Inf remaining to spend on ICE.

3 Eli 1.0 •••
2 Tollbooth ••••
2 Ichi 1.0 •••• (Esp w/ Batty)

Post-MWL, the NAPDs and Elis suck up an additional 5 Inf, so I’m looking to get some feedback on ideas for future agenda and ICE compositions keeping MWL and Faust in mind, primarily.
First off, we can recover 2 Inf by substituting Fetal AIs for NAPDs. Certainly we lose a 2cr tax, but we gain 2 Net damage, which is potentially scary for Faust. It does cost an extra credit to score, but that’s irrelevant vs Val and it takes the same two turns to score, should you choose to actually score it (which is the same mindset as scoring NAPD). This swap could be considered a wash, but the gain of 2 Inf seems like a win for Fetal AI.
Second, Genetic Resequencing seems like a good substitution for Chronos Project, to utilize Nisei more frequently…if Faust wasn’t a thing. (Although, Rush RP would probably prefer GR to CP.)

1 Chronos Project
2 Fetal AI

3 The Future Perfect

With this change to agendas and the 4 Inf spent on assets, we once again have 11 Inf to spend on ICE, but this time Eli takes up an additional 3 Inf. The question is, “What do you cut?”

 • 2 Ichi 1.0 •••• ?
 • 1 Ichi 1.0 •• and 1 Tollbooth •• ?
 • 1 Ichi 1.0 •• and 1 Eli 1.0 •• ?

When you drop any two of the 2-Inf ICE, you will be left with a remainder of 1 Inf. What is best to spend it on?

 • 1 Viper •
 • 1 Markus 1.0 •
 • 1 Wraparound •
 • 1 NAPD • or GFI •

Whatever you remove can generally be replaced with some Jinteki/Neutral ICE. Additionally, you could swap the EBC for a Tech Startup and use that 1 Inf to help keep one of the 2-Inf ICE. You could also throw in 1 Enhanced Login Protocol instead of an ICE to return to ye olde days of RP and also combat the increased use of currents.

Just wondering what thoughts others have about this kind of change, or other relevant changes.

Most people have gone to this suite:

1 NAPD *
1 GFI *
3 TFP
3 Nisei

Or if you are going to 54, then you probobly want to pack Snare!, so those RP’s go to this

2 Fetal
1 GFI *
3 TFP
3 Nisei

The ice that costs inf being

3 Eli ******
2 Ichi ****
(1 Wrap or Viper if you have a spare inf) *

One thing to note is that the Palana builds have ditched Ichi and kept the Tollbooths because the clicks are not as relevant and they have the money to pay for it (Due to the ability plus Corp sales team, which replaces NAPD)

Yeah, I went to 54 with Fetals and Snares. Eli’s, an Ichi, and a 'booth. Using both Batty and Caprice. Honestly not convinced it’s a particularly great deck, but it’s one I can (usually) play well… which for most of us probably matters more than tech. Would like to explore the Palana option more though.

Thanks, man. With your suggested “standard” in mind, would you keep in the same, or change it vs Faust? Does anyone use Wall of Thorns?

After searching this thread and finding no other mentions of Palana Agroplex, would you be so kind as to link me to a version with Palana (or the appropriate thread where that variant is discussed, should it exist)?
