Both Ichi and Eli are fairly good vs Faust, especially in RP, so besides including a second Komainu and a third Crick, I wouldn’t make any major changes. D4V1D is a bigger problem, as it makes Susanno effectively 1 cred to break.
It’s good to have 54 cards in Jinteki decks now because your opponent might ask how many cards are in your deck at the start of the game & your chances of winning by concession go way up if you say 54.
I’m pretty sure this deck is shit now guys. Loses to both Noise and Whizzard very consistently without being terribly impressive against anything else as if it mattered. If you want to be a dingus with Caprice in a remote play PF and if you want 54 card Museum play IG.
There’s nothing wrong with 54 if you’re playing a card thats only good if you have 54.
Eh, it won a Regionals in Florida and I came in 3rd in Cambridge using it. I don’t think it’s the best deck by any stretch but for non World Champions it seems competitive.
Yes, Tristan who won the Florida regional played a very good 54 card Museum RP deck (beat me in the finals). We interviewed him later in the week for our podcast, and he talked about how the deck is made to be strong against RP’s former weakest matchups, Noise and Whizzard. I was playing Reg MaxX and was able to win off of some really good accesses in swiss, but I got buried in the finals, in part due to a Cerebral Static, a choice he made to fight off Noise and Whizzard more.
I think it’s a pretty strong choice. I don’t know if it’s exactly as good as Palana can be, but it definitely does the job better of bogging the runner down (while still being able to push forward and having a scoring plan, unlike IG).
Well it was a wild couple of weeks. MWL 2.0’s bombshell gave me the motivation to go back to my RP safe space and I even had some success against the weakened orange menace. But now Rumor Mill tore it all down again. I guess RP will never recover unless glacier as a whole gets some massive upgrades this cycle or ELP 2.0 gets printed.
Agreed. Rumor mill is definitely an attempt to push the glacier archetype away from Jinteki and move it to NBN. I think both NBN and HB might have a playable, but not quite competitive glacier archetype in there post Rumor Mill.
For RP that makes some sense I guess but what is your counter play? Most of your agendas are not never advanced and I am not convinced that Junebug will be competitive enough in a meta that is slowly moving away from faust all the time.
Jinteki already has a region that is somewhat playable depending on the ice spread that they can slot in for some defense.
The real problem is that most Anarch decks are on SoT and Deja Vu. How does Jinteki glacier get out from behind the proverbial eight-ball of Rumor Mill?
Red Herrings / Mumbad Virtual Tour / Bootcamps / Interns, problem is solved.
Total 15 inf or 9 if you have 7+ assets aka 3 Jacksons (or Allele if you need non unique advancable bait), and only one Sundew (or more) on top of Bootcamps \o/
The guy needs +10c on top of your agendas, for an investment of 1c… Instead of 7+ for an investment of 5+, which is a free 4+ ice.
You can’t gain +10c in one clic unless you’re in some very special conditions. And you can infinite bait the runner with those cards.
You can remove totally the threat of RM. The more difficult is Jackson but you still can remove that need. This is cheap eco war.
With Alleles, I’d play Advanced Assembly Lines for an instant Mumbad Virtual / Red herring install, this is funny. Jackson is overrated in this situation. If you can spare 4 inf then you have ELP and things start to get very nasty with Allele ELP.
Bootcamps shutdown Val as well (RP quite shutdown Val anyway), call your Jacksons/Allele when needed and Virtual Tour / Red Herrings / Crick totally crash so much archive strategies.
And you can rush with those cards. With Caprice / Ash you can’t. Unlike Caprice / Ash, you can say “no ice rez” with those decks and keep your money.
There’s a lot of those cards, and I’m sure those I said are not the greatest, that have a great effect. People are lazy and say “caprice ash” but actually if the runner likes to loose 4 clic per SoT, why not let him do that ?
Lotus field are harder to pass with Anarch than before. So use 3x fields, 2x crick and there you make troubles to most Anarch.
I have not played this deck but just a couple of observations:
Do you find you do not have enough ICE early game. With only 16 (and Chiyashi and Crick not doing anything early game) do you get into problems with no adequate ICE?
I have found for most of my Corp deck that 2 Friends In High Places seems like the right amount as you don’t want to draw it in your opening hand but about 15 cards in. Do you find them clogging your hand early on? 3 might be the right call with the amount of trashables you have.
NASX could replace one of the PADs. Unless the runner is playing Rumor Mill it is at worst the exact same card. But if you have a couple of drip econ cards going, you have the option of quickly bursting up.
I’ve tried to create an RP glacier deck, have gone 0-8 on jinteki so far. Haven’t really played much glacier so not sure if it’s the deck or the fact that I have no idea how to play it.
That’s a good point, with Wall of Thorns. The reason I had Mausolous is it’s a punishing early facecheck, but I think I definitely need an ELP. I got completely wrecked in one of my games by Rumor Mill. I think one of the reasons I’m having issues is that I’m usually unable to rush out an early agenda so I think I need a few more cheap ETR ice to be able to put more pressure on runners. I am running MHC and deck slots are pretty tight for traps. I think I also need to find a slot for Enforcing Loyalty to kill Councilman.
Eli is 0c to bounce instead of break on a central before running a remote. Wall of Thorns is either 2 net or 4c+ to break before running a remote.
That said DNA tracker is much better for this type of punishment.
In general, RP wants ICE that punishes the runner on centrals so that they have to spend a click and credits to enable a run on the remote. Pup and Crick are the classic examples, and are very cheap to rez. Aiki may also be an honorable mention here for some more recent ICE.
Taxing ICE is placed on the remote to force expensive runs that still have to play the psi game with Caprice, or end the run with a Nisei token if that fails. Eli is a good example of these taxing ICE, as 2 clicks/3c+ is expensive to break, particularly given the rez cost. Tollbooth is another classic example.
DNA tracker, in my opinion, fills both roles pretty well. It is expensive to rez, but the runner certainly won’t run into it to enable a run on the remote. On the remote it is very expensive to break or let fire (as net damage is not much of a deterrent when match-point is on the line).
I don’t like Kakugo in RP. It can be safely bounced off of on a central, and taxing 1 net each run is only okay on a remote. At that rez cost I’d like a lot more impact from my ICE.
I don’t think 3x Batty with only 1 Cobra for program trashing is worth it. Doing 2 net is not typically so impactful. 3x Caprice is much more worthwhile.
