[Noise] Welcome (back) to the Church

While IHW is not great against Butcher Shop, I think it does enough in the Butcher Shop match-up to warrant deckslots in combo with Imp.

It’s tough, right? My usual thoughts are that Butchershop will wreck you if you’re tagged, as you can’t function without resources. IHW just stops you dying, not losing. I’ll have to give it some testing.

I won the Belgian national with a slight variation of @Gozik’s deck. Because being set-up ASAP is really important, I (almost) maximized the draws with 3 inject 2IHW and pancakes. it’s also important to find the breakers/clot on time if NEH is rushing, in order to have a fighting chance. It’s probably good to cut to 45 for the same reason but I was not able to!

I really love noise, because you can pressure all three centrals significantly, as well as remotes if the centrals are too protected. It’s also the only deck that is operating correctly without needing a huge amount of money. I can’t wait to try to fit street peddler and faust in there.

46 card master race.

How would you feel about dropping a cache for a hades shard?

Infidel.

A bit more explanation: Hades shard is not needed. Getting into archives is always going to be cheaper than paying 7. If the archives are full of agendas and Noise cannot get in there - there’s something wrong IMHO. With Noise.

The real use for Hades in noise decks is to force jackson constantly. As long as you have it installed, you could pop it at any time, so you’re pressuring jackson even more, which is already a lot given that you’re playing Noise. I don’t often put it in my Noise decks, but it certainly is very good.

Well you force jackson constantly anyway. Archives should be always checked every now and then and Jackson should never be alive for more than few turns. If you’re having trouble making sure either of those things, you’re having other problems

And any good player worth his salt will play around Hades shard anyway.

I do think shard can be amazing, but overall I don’t think it does as much as the third cache (or any of the inf cards) for the game plan. If they protect archive so much that you can’t get in, you probably can find an other server to harass

Removing your 2nd clot would probably be the best bet if you want to cut down to 45.

If you insist on 2 clots, then the 2nd grimoire is unnecessary too imho. It looks like the sort of deck which is good when aesop shows and struggles mightily otherwise. I don’t understand lists that don’t play casts/gamble. I know the theory, but in practice I find (NBN especially) corp players just get off to the races.

Well done on your win, well played. Good to see Noise on top of the tree.

Fair enough. I’ve run 2 cache 1 hades for a while and am considering converting to 3 cache no hades. I’ll give it a whirl!

Another question: do you feel 2x lamprey 2x datasucker is better than 1x lamprey and 3x datasucker?

Has anyone been testing street peddler and faust at the same time? So far I’ve noticed that I’ll come close to decking myself too early if I’m using wyldside / faust / street peddler. Maybe pawning the wyldside at some point is best, or only use street peddler to find combo pieces otherwise use them on faust? Meh.

Scheherazade and no Gambles BOYS!

Only running 2 Datasucker is interesting to me. I’ve found it one of the most important cards in the deck. Eli gives me fits without it.

Surely it’s rare for Scheherazade to be better than Gamble. You need to install 5 things on it for it to be better, and not getting the money now is also an issue when Noise struggles with speed the most anyway.

I’ve been shying away from cards that give incremental long game advantage in Noise because his ability + Aesop + Deja Vu give you a crazy long game anyway, and the most common way to lose is because you weren’t fast enough.

Scheherazade makes you 1-2 credits a turn for the whole game (including the turn you put it down), and costs 0 to get started. It is not really that slow.

I don’t think it’s a clear decision, but personnally i favor scherezade because of the threshold. Turn 1 the +4 boost is really awesome to get the game going, but as soon as turn 2 or 3, unless you are well set-up it’s rare to pass 5 credits again. So i prefer to use the economy that can be used in my worst situation.

I actually think Scheherezade is defensible it’s the cyberfeeders that have never pulled their weight in my testing.

My guess is the refute will be that you have to click to install the cards, so you’re not ā€˜gaining’ anything other than board state. I can see it in conjunction with CF, or grimoire for cache. I like the holy trinity (well and grimoire), because they’re a ā€˜combo’ that are good on their own. I was never too hot to trot on casts myself, so CF, hera, and cache with grimoire were always good.
