I’ve done some light testing with peddler (3 inject 3 peddler as my only ‘draw’ actually), and its great, but mostly for the hidden info aspect. Right now, since people aren’t use to it, the ability to surprise pull stuff out on a no-rez, or force a rez and produce an answer from thin air is amazing. Later people will be able to be bluffed as they get used to peddler shenanigans.
Has anyone tried Immolation Script in Noise? It looks like a good way to periodically check Archives and clean out any agendas, along with another bonus ICE trash if lucky, or against Blue Sun with Curtain Walls…
Ding ding ding. This is not easy to get your head around, but you’re absolutely right.
I’ve had a one-off Immolation script in my deck for a while now, and I really like it as my “spice” card. Don’t mind it dying to Peddler, it gives me an option against Lotus Field, and it’s usually about as good as a fourth parasite. In other news, Architect can go die in a fire.
Eh i dunno. I play it, i like it, i prefer the 2x casts 2x armitage to 3x of either alone, and i get the math behind armitage + aesops, i call it low level i guess because a) kiv did and b) i guess i miss the old bursty run or die noise before we had pancakes, but thats just me being anachronistic.
I’m a noise newbie but lately I’ve been experimenting with the idea that now that Anarch has a breaker that eats cards and enough in faction draw tools, Levy AR becomes a viable card.
The main sacrifice of this is the influence – I was running 2 Clone Chip, 2 Aesop, 3 Cache, Hades Shard and Levy but with more draw you see 2x Aesop’s quickly and Street Peddler adds another instant speed option allowing 2x Clone Chip to not be too detrimental. I suppose you could go to 3x Clone chip, 2 Cache but Cache seems too important?
Faust and a more aggressive draw package allows earlier run pressure and against Glacier eventually you can reset all of your viruses and all the irrelevant cards become food for Remote / Medium runs. With Wyldside/Pancakes you also freely draw 2 cards every turn from the reset deck.
I guess my question to the Noise pros is how often do you stall out or find yourself wishing you could break a remote? Perhaps with perfect play and normal breakers you don’t need this reset but in testing it was very useful to have a reset versus Glacier and IHW + Levy for kill decks. More draw generally means a faster set up against FA and the Faust can break early rush remotes.
I’ve very rarely felt like I needed the Levy. By the time I get through my deck, the game should be pretty much over one way or another. Might be worth some testing though. Could be an interesting inclusion.
Yeah, I suppose it is a different beast because Faust and more draw makes you move through the deck more quickly than a standard noise deck. In theory resulting in a faster set up allowing more mills and more runs that potentially net agendas but I’m not sure if the pros outweigh the cons.
I think noise with breakers is better than most people think, and having faust fill in the blanks on missing breakers, you could speed up noise, and give him a credible remote threat, I’ve considered it, but not committed to it yet. Maybe the 1 knight can go to faust…
I tested 2 Faust, 1 Corroder, 1 Mimic, 1 David and it seemed good.
For example, after seeing me at 4 credits and only Faust on the board, a Blue Sun player install advance advanced a Oaktown renovation in a remote with Curtain Wall, Lotus Field and Datapike. I aesop’d to 7 credits, slapped David down and broke the whole thing for 2 Creds, 3 tokens and 3 cards.
Yea, for the time being, people will underestimate breaking power of an anarch, especially if you haven’t installed your faust yet. I can see sitting at 0 credits but 5 cards, the corp might try to score an agenda behind an enigma or something vs noise…you drop faust, inject up, and slam the remote binning your excess suckers and excess things you drew off inject. The ambush potential is pretty good.
The ambush potential is real, especially with Faust or David sitting on Peddler which happened more often than you’d think. I went with IHW + WyldPeddlerCakes over Inject with Faust – I think drawing all the cards is better when you can use them for breaks.
I guess you could easily go all in to the breaker idea by adding Yog or a second David or multi copies of Mimic and Corroder. That said, I didn’t find myself ever wanting Yog between Faust for Lotus and parasucker for everything else.
I’m a bit married to yog, to save parasites on codegates, even if it’s expensive, my current build stacks a great deal of HQ pressure to help thin ice on remotes and divert resources away from RnD, and subsequently archives…and can generate quite the lock as long as you stay on top of assets. Only RP has been able to spiral away from me (oh and that stupid encryption protocol weldmar HB manups deck eyeroll).

I know we all hate fester, but I’ve found it great once you ambush the lock, or just brute force it, and later in the game it easily aesops for 3. I’ve enjoyed it every time
For me it’s a replacement of Earthrise Hotel. But I play no Wyld Pancakes. My current draw package in Noise is 3 Peddler, 3 Inject, 3 IHW. No tempo loss while drawing cards is really good.
Yes.
Zolend dug himself out of a grim situation vs. my Blue Sun with Faust. I had a perfect start, easily scored my first Oaktown with no Ash, and went to rush a second one. He was able to play a D4v1d and get through a Datapike, Tollbooth, and Hive spending 4 cards, 5 credits, and a sucker token. My remote, which would have normally been golden against pre-Faust Noise, was bust for a while. I eventually lost in the late game as you do vs. Noise.
I can see his argument for Levy and more Faust. You would need same old to rescue the levy if necessary, and you still want Mimic and D4vidS (capital S). Also, no need for Corroder I think.
Levy is probably wanted but not needed. Noise is better optimized without it, but it does allow for a more aggressive Fausting Noise with it.

I have only played a couple of game with this list. I replaced Cyberfeeder with Street Peddler and so far I really like it. My breaker suite is a little heavy with 2 Mimics, 2 Corroder, and 2 Faust-but I hate waiting around for breakers. I know some people dislike Hades Shard, I understand the logic but I completely disagree. It does a lot, you can score on the Corps turn to avoid a Midseason or Punitive, it threatens Jackson, it gives you a chance to win a game all by itself. One of my favorite plays is to run archives if they have a face down asset to see if it’s Jackson, if they rez and use I install the shard instead of accessing and still get value on my datasuckers. Utopia Shard works really well also, it’s mainly in there as another tool to help against Butcher Shop decks.
Both shards are great, but I’m not cutting an aesop’s, a clone chip, or a cache just yet, if anything aesop’s with the new draw power, but since he rocks so hard, I doubt it. I don’t plan to win via mills, I plan to win with higher quality medium digs in the mid game. The best ACTUAL effect hades has is burning jacksons faster.
This is the first time I’ve looked seriously at what modern Noise decks are. Triple Aesops seems compulsory… why? Just because you definitely want to see one and the 2nd @ 3rd are always economy?
I’m more in line with x3r0h0ur in using Inject & Peddler over Wyldside/Chronotype… I don’t see Inject and Peddler in competition with each other.
Seeing as it’s unique, it could be economy for Faust, perhaps, but not for itself. For Noise/Cache, definitely an include.
Usually the second and third Aesop’s are complete bullshit that you never ever want to see, but put in your deck anyhow because seeing one early is 100% needed for the deck to function. With Faust in there, though, you just use them for accesses instead, so they’re much less shitty feeling when you draw them.
