[Noise] Welcome (back) to the Church

What’s the best Noise hate to play coming out of a typical Astrobiotics list if you were making a lots-of-Noise meta call? 2nd Cyberdex?

What one cost money card do you mean? Proposing removing daily casts, your slots were Hacktivist and a second Medium, almost the same line of thought, more disruption, less money.

It’ll also compensate for the lost mills when you Inject a virus, can be sold in a pinch, and put new pressure onto a Corp that would otherwise be winning.

I was talking about human first.

Hacktivist is more about disrupting asset economy, than ‘getting mills’ and the second medium is to just see it sooner, to go faster at RnD, its a bit different than trying to stack more mills into a deck that probably already mills ‘enough’.

Oh gotcha. Definitely the strong slot I was wondering about. I’m going to try all of your options as well, they all look viable.

Don’t blow off the Spoilers too soon though, just imagine mulliganing into a dubious hand like 2x Spoilers, 1x Parasite, 1x Datasucker, and 1x Medium. While your old play would be Draw, Credit, Double Casts, now it can be more aggressive with sucker farming, drawing for the important pieces, and slapping down 2x Spoilers when the Corp realizes you’re struggling and go for their score. Human First would be good too, it would get you the credits to get those pieces up faster.

I just found myself sitting on a stack of cash end game, and going completely independent of credits once Aesops hit. Either a Vamp or more disruption was what I would be looking for first. This modern running Noise ends up milling a lot of cards anyway, and adding in a Gravedigger was a bad play due to MU issues early, but Spoilers is half the cost, easier Aesops food, and clickless. I can’t wait to try Hacktivist, Human First, or Spoilers.

Spoilers isn’t unique and can be installed off Peddler on the turn the Corp wants to score. That’s kind of funny.

Wow, ff0x leaves Kate behind. I wonder if there will be any Shaper left for our nationals or if it is time to put in all the Anarch silver-bullets.

I find the Incubator interesting. Of course it can be awesome in the best case scenario (opening on R&D, play medium, incubator and dig deep) but in my experience a lot of corps nowadays play CVS and can shut down such plays. There are other uses like killing big ICE with parasite or just making money with cache. Could you use that in most games?

Also no damage protection at all? I also cut my IHW but I put in two Plascretes. I think Plascretes work a lot better with Street Peddler. You can’t lose them to the Peddler in matchups where you might need them and you can let them sit on the Peddler if you’re unsure if you need them (and they dont block your hand). In matchups without damage you can still toss them to Faust.

I also experienced a lot of decking or nearly decking when playing with Pancakes, Peddler and Faust. Even in faster matchups. So I guess I will try Trope once it’s out.

I have this odd feeling that Spoilers is better than I initially thought. Deck space is so tight though…

Not really. This card at best says: corp trashes 3 cards from rnd. Every single virus does 1/3 of what this card does, PLUS whatever the virus card does.

This is nowhere near deck worthy material. Especially since the space is tight already and I’m not playing a lot of cards I wouldn’t mind playing already.

Yeah, I’d like it better if it was when scored or stolen since you’d get more procs off of it and the runner would be able to control some of the timings.

If only there were a 1 cost card that did say that…hrmmmm

I’d like it a lot better in that case. Or if it was a virus. Mechanically, seems like it should be a virus.

I attended a 30 player tournament on the weekend. Top 8 were all Anarch Runners - 1 Whizzard, 2 MaxX, and 5 Noise.

The end times are truly upon us.

So i took the following to the same tournament as @Dragar, i felt when i built it that peddler + pancakes maybe if anything, more draw than was needed. After a few games which i lost due to not getting the right cards at the right time im reconsidering that. Im aware peddler provides more than simple draw however so im currently re-working it to slot in peddler and moar viruses.

My concern with peddler + faust is not only is it less cards in grip for faust (if they end up on peddler), but potentially digging away 9 cards, as well as any cards you have to dig through to get to wyldside, makes me think that your reducing the longevity of faust (less cards in deck). What are peoples thoughts on this? Playing a few games last night online i ended up finally getting into the noiseshop way of thinking with faust, and i happily sold it after i had contested the remote i wanted to, and went back to pressuring elsewhere. Maybe this is right approach with faust in noise?

Noiseshop

Noise: Hacker Extraordinaire (Core Set)

Event (9)

Hardware (5)

Resource (12)

Icebreaker (4)

Program (16)

15 influence spent (max 15)
46 cards (min 45)
Cards up to The Underway

Deck built on NetrunnerDB.

Peddler is amazing. I don’t think you should be running less than three, particularly in a deck with less than 10 Operations. Games rarely go on long enough for pitching cards to matter, particularly as Noise.

Previous builds had 3x peddler, i kind of went backwards to your noiseshop build from your article you wrote for netrunners.co.uk, when writing up this. I think its OK but peddler in noise is pretty insane. Just played a game online where the setup time was next to nothing thanks to early injects/peddlers.

The thing is with inject/peddler, i end up not needing wyldside, or drawing it at the point where i dont want the tempo hit, but without the raver pancakes combo i think faust gets pretty hamstringed. What do you think?

I think Wyldside/Pancakes remains awkward, but Faust is really good and takes a lot of the sting of Wyldside out. Inject/IHW/Peddler might well be enough to find Aesop and grab what you need, when you need it.

Huge numbers of the winning decks have been Wyldside decks, though.

If you don’t like panwyld, you can run 2-3 earthrise. My happiest draw engine pre AC was 3 ihw 3 inject 2 earthrise.

You can go 1 hades 1 career fair too if you go that route…it allows for a career faired hades that sometimes catches corps off guard.

Thats it, i cant tell if i am being blinded to the obvious power of the EVERY DRAW CARD draw engine and missing what is the arguably optimal build of noiseshop. I guess i have to test both, but your right everyone is using the power of faust + pancakes to awesome effect.

I dont know if i could drop a clone chip for the career fair/shard, inject + peddler makes me think i want as much recursion as possible, especially if you need to pitch to faust

Given the deck’s biggest weakness is flatline, this is worth pondering.
