[Noise] Welcome (back) to the Church

I took hi_impact’s winning TX Regionals list*, cut the Immolation Script, and added one Scheherazade.

In his writeup, he admits that Daily Casts is the worst card in the deck, so if I had the courage of @pacer or @TheBigBoy, pacer’s US Nats list seems like a natural progression. But I’m a breakers and money guy by nature, and I like playing Netrunner as opposed to a mysterious other game, so for the time being I’m clinging to the last vestiges of normalcy. (I did the same at Worlds – I had Corroder, Mimic, Crypsis, and Knight in my Inject list, along with both Cyberfeeder and Daily Casts).

I’m going to have to test with pacer’s list, but I’m not taking it straight to a tournament. My intestines quake at the thought. :stuck_out_tongue:

*Which I’m sure you’ve inspected already, but I’ll link it for the peanut gallery.

It’s really not as bad as you think. I was uncreative and basically copied Pacer’s deck for Nats (except -1 Mimic and +1 Clot) and practiced with it for a bit, and while econ is skin-tight, it really does work.

Here is my 6th place list from US nats. I tested with and without IHW and Daily Casts and decided that neither were crucial in the deck. In hindsight, I think I like @pacer’s influence spread better although I think I will drop utopia for 1 film critic. For me 2x clot and 2x medium are both necessary in the NEH heavy meta.

how often is lamprey used to to threaten HQ? only if HQ is vulnerable? is it generally aesop food?

Giving Noise an HQ threat is sick, you definitely can put them to use. Its just another “anarch fork” you can set up. At WORST you’re aesop’sing it.

Did anyone of you encounter Cerebral Static? I guess with the rise of Noise, people might try CS as a counter but I’m not sure how much impact it really has. So, did anyone have any problems with that?

Im very much into the idea of “sell everything” in noiseshop. Grimoire, Faust, nothing is safe if it wins the game in the end, which i also feel is thematically appropriate for anarch. So i can definitely see the lists with no overt econ working, aesops should be the only money engine you need. My main concern is tag decks. With so little cash how are people handling tags? Imp the agenda is a way to avoid midseasons, but what about sea source?

Yes. RP with Cerebral Static is pretty terrible, and by all rights it should have cost me a game.

Think elp is even better in Rp.

I’m not sure it is against Noise, but both are good.

@pacer do you have any videos of your games up anywhere? Or would you be happy breaking down how you approach a game somewhat? Iv been trying today with the list below, and i’m not ashamed to admit im stumped. I can’t get a handle on it, maybe i play too aggro and am also not the best at gauging the corps board state or what they will do next, but i felt the lack of cash was hurting me in every game. Obviously though your results can’t be denied, so i’m really interested to hear how you play with a list like this.

There are a few videos of me playing noise, check out dodgepong on YouTube, I think there are 2 (ravens nest 5th round vs. @acejack, and fcb SMC tournament 2nd or 3rd round), and the team covenant Tulsa regional championship final round also vs @acejack. There will be the one from this weekend but that’s more of a how not to play video.

I was also planning on dropping Utopia for Film critic and I will probably drop one of my Mimics for Trope to try that out.

Poor boy Noise is best Noise. Congrats on the result dude.

Trope sounds fun! Definitely worth a try.

I’m so pumped for Trope. Even if it just recurs a couple Clone Chips and a Déjà that’s worth a slot, imo

OK, so i spent the day with it, determined to get my head around how all these lists im seeing on NRDB are wrecking face so consistently without a lot of money cards, think iv finally cracked it. I slotted some injects for when your wyldside and aesops are glued to the bottom of the deck, and im really happy with this list now. After some crushing loses to @mendax online, i tweaked a little further and started getting some consistent wins.

Its nothing special or out of the ordinary by any stretch. I’ve added inject as i said, which is great. I took out corroder, because most barrier ICE either falls to D4v1d or parasite easily enough. Mimic is still in because of architect.

These are all awesome because I won in all of them, as opposed to the one at nationals where it was a disaster.

I don’t get how this play style wins you games, @pacer

People just don’t flat out put down agendas and win?
This game (PeachHack Netrunner - Near-Earth Hub vs. Noise - Raven's Nest Store Championship - YouTube) would be just 100% loss for you if the guy had architect or Lotus field as first/second/third ice on RnD.

PE game was similar (PeachHack Netrunner - Jinteki PE vs. Noise - Raven's Nest Store Championship - YouTube) - just put down agendas and win.

I’m very firmly in the aggressive Noise camp, and I’m honestly amazed at what kind of games you’ve won on these videos with that way of playing.

Any thoughts on that?
