[Noise] Welcome (back) to the Church

I have had very little success trying to get the Atman list to work for me, but the Inject list one of the guys in my test group came up with is pretty bonkers. I think with Inject you don’t really want Atman, since it’s the one program you’d rather not see go into your heap.

Could you explain why Inject is so good? Every time I look at it, all I see are cards in my heap (when I want them in my grip!) and a couple of credits to compensate. It seems to alternate between an Easy Mark that trashes a load of programs and a risky Diesel.

Think of it in terms of “it’s midgame, I have the programs I need, and now desperately have to draw the non-program parts of my deck” (like, econ for instance).

I guess that works if you run a lot of breakers. But normally with Noise, don’t you run a lot of econ (normally in the form of programs like Cache, Imp, Scha-something and Datasucker) and struggle to find the breakers/parasites? Inject seems counterproductive in such decks.

It seems best in Criminal…

It finds stuff. Anarch’s big issue is having the cards you need buried in your deck somewhere. Even if what you need is a programme Inject shows you four more cards and Anarch has plenty of recursion. In fact if you’re running Retrival Run or Clone Chip there are programmes that are better in the heap than in hand.

Inject will only get better with more quality Anarch events too, such as Wanton Desctruction

And if most programs you want to install are viruses, Deja Vu (or Clone Chip) can bring them back nicely.

There didn’t seem any real place to say this but here seemed most appropriate – Duggar’s is ridiculous and fun.

Only one game but Wyldside may just not be the club it once was.

Inject is definitely better in Criminal, but good in Anarch builds that are (1) event heavy - see AoA, or (2) are all in on recursion, which really means retrieval run and Same Old Things - we are assuming deja vu here.

Loving Duggar’s in lieu of Wyldside as well! Great for when I’m desperately drawing for Aesop’s or Cache.

I have thought about putting it in Noise for a while, but I guess I lack the confidence that I can make it work for me.

But I guess packing clone chips and retrieval runs might help? Or same old thing and deja vu.

Yea, in my variation on Axul’s Deck with Duggar’s instead of Wyldside, I use the inf on 2x Aesops, 3x Cache, 2x Clone Chip, 1x Levy AR Lab Access, 1x Hades Shard.

Inject in criminal is awkward early game. Criminal builds are typically light on both recursion and breakers. If you pitch a breaker, you are very sad. Of course, once you’re set up it’s better than Diesel. But if you’re paying 2 inf anyway, then I think Diesel is better.

Does Exile like it enough to be paying influence for card draw? Probably not is my feeling.

I think it’s probably a 100% anarch card. A pretty good one at that. 3x clone, 3x retrieval run, 3x inject, 3x deja vu, 3x SOT is pretty good glue that you haven’t been able to get until now in Anarch. I’m also quite pleased that it doesn’t seem to help Noise too much (although it might be an econ card for him that’s not bad).

Look forward to trying Duggars in Noise. ELP really really hurts when you’re partying every day. The ability to have a blow out party every now and again seems good. Really hard to tell without trying it. Probably needs a differently designed deck though, not a straight swap by any means.

Without having tested yet, i think that inject is a pretty good card in noise. It gives you 4 cards, and with 3 deja vu and 3 clone chip i am really not afraid of some of them beeing tossed into the heap.

Its one card less then qt, 2 cred and one influence cheaper. So yes, i want to test this in noise.

I think it’s worth trying in Noise, but ideally you want to play those viruses, use them, Aesop’s them, then (same old) deja-vu them for more chaos. In my opinion the only programs you are really happy to see on your Inject play are copies of breakers that you already have. A card is typically more valuable than a credit.

It might be good in Noise, but I think it’s better in non-Noise. It’s the first real glue card Anarch have had. For that alone I’m quite excited by it.

In Noise you sometimes need some turns to stable. Inject is great for this purpose, it helps to find wyldside/aesops/grimoire/cyberfeeder. This is exactly what I want from quality time in Noise. And Inject is much cheaper and faster. I don’t mind trash any of my programs(may be except of shacherezade) at start of game and I do not have to play this when my wyldside/deja vu machine is working already. I definitly will play this in Noise and expect it to be great.

Meanwhile I think that duggar’s is bad choice for noise. You want to install all your deck not just find some definite cards. It is much more playable in siphon builds of Whizzard/roja/quetzal.

Its like you have read my mind.

That’ s because I play your deck too much^^

Imo, duggar’s needs some form of hand size increasement, which means you are running between 4-9 cards just for card draw alone, and that’s simple too much cardslots in most noise decks now, which run 3-6.

You either need hand size, or a deck with a lot of cards that you include only for draw.

Ie., 3x grimoire - you play only one.
3x Replicator- you play only one
3x Dyson - you play only one hoping for the link, to setup uc.
3x plastcrete - where you may play none if not for Weyland

In a deck like this, on an average draw of 10 cards, if this was the only duplication, you’d have 9 dups per deck. Plus played in Anarch you might have 3 duggars, where 2 are dups. So you have card slots that you can use to ameliorate the card trash.

So, duggars can be played:
a) with hand enlargement (box E, logo is particularly good outside anarch), public sympathy et
b) with multiple dups that you plan on discarding - in which case duggers is helping your efficiency.
c). with an exile or rez deck, where you plan on recovering cards out of heap anyway.
d). in a deck where you have few, high inf cards with no way to tutor and rely on card draw.
e). In a deck where you use click play to give you a chance to recover from a duggers draw. A click deck may include Joshua, Rachel, All nighter, as well as mass install and modded.
