I messed around with PT Dish/Midseasons/Manhunt in NEH… too many cards to try to fit, however. I got excited when you said Manhunt in NEH, is all!
I love the card dearly. If you’re grabbing Primary Transmission Dish to back it up, though, you’ve got a problem only Making News can solve.
How about this Old Hollywood Grid card, however? Who will be the first player to make a deck filled with 1-2 copies of agendas, instead of the normal three of the 3/2s?
2 x Astro
2 x Beale
2 x NAPD
2 x Breaking News
1 x Pri Req
1 x Executive Retreat
But then you have to make a server that’s too taxing to get into twice… as NBN.
Our friend Data Raven and Information Overload/Universal Connectivity fee can make this easier, plus the Universal Taxer Tollbooth.
I 1x’d Manhunt. If it came up, it came up. If it didn’t, I didn’t sweat it, it was just meant to be an extra taxer, but it doesn’t play great outside of core NBN. Primary Transmission Dish was one of the first things cut. Its not a bad card for what it does; the problem is that there aren’t many good cards that work well with it that also work well with lateral lightly defended servers. If it were an upgrade, it’d be in every ash deck ever.
Also good old Eli should do, if the runner doesn’t have an Imp out, and has to pay 4 creds to trash.
Biggest drawback of the card is the 5 rez cost. That’ll hurt.
Or you could just play Red Herrings and not butcher your agenda suite!
This; Hollywood Grid is not going to be very reliable; it’s going to get trashed and then you’re going to have to play the game again. IG is the only place I see it ever sticking for any amount of time. Better instead to cause tension between trashing it, sansan and whatever else you’re packing.
Ptd’s trash cost keeps it from having any real teeth. The cards it truly benefits are limited as ICE subroutines are broken so much more than firing.
Pa-pa-pa-chinko! (with Bandwidth in front). As a bonus, both of those become a SUPREME pain in the ass with Sub Boost.
I keep thinking there must be a deck here. Pachinko, Data Raven, Bandwidth, Gutenberg, Subboost… NBN Glacier, incoming?
the cards are telling us that it’s time to play a NBN positional ICE game. So grab your caprice nisei’s and your sunsets and build something epic.
Gotta surely have 2 scorched and 2 traffic accident’s at least in tag ice deck. Caprice’s too inf heavy imo.
Tenma line is far better, esp in hub.
Out of idle interest… why? If the whole premise of the deck is that your ICE becomes super-efficient once the runner goes tag-me, that’s much easier to turn into a scoring win than it is to turn into a flatline.
Stuff like Pachinko doesn’t belong in a flatline deck, imho - with those, your game breaks down into two phases: “trying to get you tagged” and “trying to kill you because you’re tagged”. For the first phase, Pachinko is useless. For the second, you’d rather have another kill card, or a card that lets you get to the kill faster. If you have a slot for a piece of ICE that only works in phase two, you’d rather have Information Overload, because that feeds back into your primary win condition by trashing flatline protection.
On the other hand, in old-school NBN taxers that want to either make your life miserable by avoiding tags, or make your life miserable because you didn’t (hello, Closed Accounts)… in such a deck, Pachinko and company can be pretty great, I think.
Forgot about closed accounts. Point taken! My initial thoughts were that eventually runner’s would just go tag-me and ice would do nothing to keep them out, and you still need protection if you are in stage 2 of the plan. In a race for agenda’s or kill maneuvers, Pachinko can be strong imo.
I’m convinced that I need (in the most part) a kill maneuver and an agenda win maneuver in every deck I play. I’ve just never had good luck with pure glacier.
Time for Bad Times?
I built it yesterday. Don’t think it’s ready yet, but i might be overestimating film critic or underestimating the new agenda defense tools.
Think D&D gets it there.
