its just NEH spending their luxury influence

I really disagree that playing ā€˜randoms’ can help you - pretty much at all. Unless you mean randoms from the SHL or this forum.

Are you saying that you’ve won 5 in a row in SHL vs clot shapers? And loads of tournament games? I’ll back myself here - wanna do a best of 9 or so at some point vs prepaid kate? I just do not see that Kate isn’t a favourite…

So little econ, really running on the razor’s edge here.

Is CVS not versatile enough to go to 2 copies? Cutting a Shipment (which is econ, I know) or so?

The Pup is great. It’s a speed bump for 1 credit against all decks. Eli is the alternative and is too expensive. I like Enigma better than Quandary though, because of the facecheck punishment. It’s probably too expensive as well…

That is the exact list that was quite popular for a long time in Germany. Before Clot we played another Fast Track in the slot of the CVS. It is quite potent but since Faust Anarchs became an actual problem for the deck and the ice composition.

By Randoms I mean reasonable players that you do not know personally and that do not know your list.

The reason it is important to test without a partner (best of 9 style like you suggest), is that you need to simulate all the uncertainty of a tournament game. If someone knows I’m not running Elis, Tollbooths, and PADs, it changes their game-plan and tactics a lot.

I agree that Clot Kate SHOULD be favored, but between the element of surprise and TONS of grinding you can get an edge. You don’t need to win a best of 9. You just need to scum out 1 game, and this list is great for that. Netrunner is a game where theoretical match-up percentages only apply if both players are amazing, and most Kate players (even from this forum) are quite mediocre at playing against a deck like this.

There are many strong players that have beaten this deck with Kate when we play multiple times on OCTGN, but I almost always get the 1st game. And the 1st game is the only one that matters.

I’d be more than happy to play anyway though, but I’m not sure it would prove anything

Well, until you play them again in the cut, and again in the loser’s bracket…

Corner case

If i’m looking to play an NBN that only gets me into the elims wouldn’t I just play butcher? :stuck_out_tongue:

Rielle talk though- what is your modern NEH looking like? A couple things I’m considering here:

  • Is Eli 3x still something to run? With less criminal on the scene and essentially infinite Lady counters it does feel like Pup would be a better 1-pip use of influence for the slot.

  • Product Placement. This card is amazing. I am trying to run 2x here, cutting a Popup and a SfSS for them, but I wondered what people are thinking about it.

  • Blacklist: worth a slot? I still feel like it isn’t, but what are your thoughts?

  • Little Engine: Anyone running this for Faust tech? It still feels like just slapping a Tollbooth on the remote and playing neveradvance is the key to this.

@spags did when he won the LCQ/ChiLo CIty grudge match a couple of weeks ago:

He also ran 1x Blacklist, but it doesn’t seem to be worth it to me. I basically functions as anti-Clot tech (you only have 1-2 Archer/Ichi in NEH FA, so there’s very little chance you get some kind of lockout), but another CVS is so much better:

  • Bluff as another remote install like Blacklist. But, can also be bluffed as a SSCG.
  • Protect against SMC, Clone Chip, and Peddle Clot, not just Clone Chip.
  • You can put it in your most defended server for extra protection if the runner is checking all your remotes.
  • Protects against Medium digs.
  • Allows you to connect with Ichi/Archer against Mimic + suckers.

All that, for costing 3 credits and 2 less trash cost.

Blacklist was def. my 49th card. I still feel like it’s a strong card v. the two best decks (Kate, Noise), as they are both using heavy recursion. Also, it’s great against Clot, which both run, and can give you a critical window to score with CVS. It’s even good against SOT shite, Anarch in general, and can be recycled with Team Sponsorship.

It’s a judgment call, but far from the wrong call. There are a large number of flex spots in NEH currently. I like to try different things, like the Engine.

I really don’t get the inclusion of pup over eli. Especially vs Kate, the 2 credit tax from pup never does anything, whereas I have won games due to inopportune running out of dog tokens.

It may be because @anon50033301 is in my meta, but my experience is a good Kate player will never run out of dog tokens.

When we were in Chicago I thought I heard you say that you never played Little Engine once the entire weekend. What do you think about it’s include?

I didn’t rez Archer the entire weekend. Engine got played constantly, and won at least two games (one was Engine/Blacklist v. @Danwarr’s Minimum Punk Rawk deck).

How do you use Blacklist against Noise/Mac? Is it just a 3 credit + 1 click + cost of breaking ice tax? Just trying to see where it would be better than another CVS.

Never for long, I agree, but I have found that you can force scoring windows by for example constantly installing behind a wrap and eli. 2 Tokens a run or a token and 2 clicks just to see an asset gets very taxing very quickly. I’m certainly not saying it’s a guarantee, and some games it simply won’t work if they draw scavenges and new dogs at the right time.

Also, eli is more taxing on repeated runs (if they are trying to say medium dig you).

I would be really interested to see other pro-pup arguments. Eli to me is as dependable as always, pup just doesn’t seem to do quite as much.

Is there a link to your list anywhere? I would be interested in seeing it!

You get NEH draw/Turtlebacks creds, it’s another remote they may check, if their in that mood. It’s a weapon you leave for the opportune moment.

It’s more costly to the Runner than you. Zero rez cost can’t be beat.
