Took this to the LGS tonight and won 5/5 games with it, despite being fucking blazed from the joint the stranger in the park gave my coworkers and I in exchange for a BLL tallboy.

I put in a scavenge just because I wanted the second copy of David, and I figured at the very least it could be a pseudo-Shutdown by recurring a Crescentus. It was perfectly functional. I don’t think the deck can use Gorman drip - even though I would have gotten plenty of activations off it some games, it was better to not have to worry about memory for your econ. Mem runs tight in this deck, but as is, everything just about fits. The changes I’d consider would be adding a Spooned or a second Knifed, or potentially changing one Lucky find and a few other things around for a shard (not sure which) and a femme, and throwing a stimhack in for use with clone chip. The deck is good, but I can’t tell if I wanted more Keyholes, or less. It doesn’t really have a way to close out the game or punish the corp for not having any cash without keyhole, but one may be the right number, since you need to find the other pieces first usually. Not sure if I’ll run it this weekend or not, Maxx felt like easy mode after I switched later in the evening. Ice Carver may also be a decent singleton to look at. Getting rid of Enigma and Swordsman with an end of turn Parasite is pretty good.
And a single Feint is obviously the call for anyone suffering from some Crisium-infested haterade meta.
i will not be turned away from spinal modem.
the rook could go…when i played this to tax more it wasn’t doing much for me. ice carver as valuable if not more than xanadu. inside job in this deck has been magic.
i should probably get down with clone chips like a man and shift things around, but i dig playing this.
does it lose plenty? yep.
The one problem with the deck was that I have no idea how long any of my games took today. Is this a slow deck? I have no idea. The Deja is good, I used it for knifed more than anything else today.
I guess I live a less risk filled life than taking joints from strangers in exchange for beer, but a decidedly less interesting one.
I won every game I played with the deck tonight as well, minus the games I played against a blue sun 6-agenda deck, where I happened to run into Government Takeover BOTH GAMES when he had a Punitive in hand. It turns out, I’ve Never Had Worse. I was running 2x David and never saw either of them both games, and running no Knifed, which would have been a godsend. I might try and fit one or two in, just because of the utility.
The two Davids were amazing though. I also went up against a BBWBI deck, which I thought was going to almost be auto-lose, because it is very hard to tax shit when it costs them at most 2 creds to rez ice (Reina + Xanadu). However, finding both Davids, a Keyhole, and all three clone chips in the first 15 cards of my deck cured those blues, and it ended up being a very short game.
The NEH was a similarly short game, as I was able to keep them too poor to rez ice on R&D for the repeated keyholes. I considered switching one of the two I played out with a Deja Vu, but it closed out the game so fast that I’d be loath to take one away. The game would have been a lot harder without it. Murdering more ice with more parasite recursion might have done the same thing, though, so who knows, maybe the Deja would have had similar success.
Overall, I loved the deck. It’s very satisfying to hear so much swearing from the other side of the table.
So what I’ve found with gorman is its all in how you play it, with regard to how useful it is. 2 times I’ve seen it, it got me 9 credits (the corp gave up caring lol), and the second time through, it got me 5. There is simply nothing they can do to stop you if you keep them on their back. The real point is, its always been ‘good.’ It helps you keep on pace for the next vamp, because whatever they click for, you get too.
I’ve found the best play is to throw it down the turn after they purge out your lampreys. Naturally they’ll be recovering at that point (as long as they have rezzed hq ice that is). Whether or not this is actually beneficial to the build, I’m not certain. I feel like there is a deja vu style build that could spin off from the basic design. You’d need lower overhead economy, perhaps armitage, since its faster to recover and much lower overhead to get into play, but it seems faster. Just for shits, I’m going to go full tard and try out ixodidae, to see if it can extend your aggression on open HQ, by refeeding you. It also could be pure jank, which I love too.
Sam, you’ve brought dark times upon us all. 3/10/15 the day the fun died.
My current list looks almost like yours, the only difference is that i’m playing 2 QG and 1 vamp instead of 2 vamp and 1 QG. I found out that Vamp tend to clot in my hand way more than I want that’s why I cut the second for just more econs.
That could be right. Including the deja vu may make the second vamp less necessary. Or maybe an earthrise instead, the draw is a little lacklustre if vigil isn’t firing.
It only get tight if you drop a Keyhole. Without you can pretty much survive with only 4 mu until mid to late game. At least, in my experience. But yeah, 3 vigil / 1 hotel should work as fine
