Shutdown Jinteki is dead! Long live shutdown Jinteki!

@mendax introduced me to this build and to the lockout potential of old school Shutdown PE, and i think with blacklist now this could have serious legs. Maybe t1.5, maybe not event that? Looks serious fun either way.

At the very least, you want more Lotus Fields (especially once NREd Yog becomes the new standard) - Shutdown hoses it pretty hard. The third Cortex Lock feels like an easy cut for it.

Also, the MHCs feel kinda shifty without Sweeps or Komainu, as does the conspicuous absence of Subliminal Messaging.

I really like this deck, but I and others have found it to be too slow for tournament play. It’s definitely a good deck though.

Mental Health Clinic is the wrong kind of card for this deck, even 1 bad pub makes it easy to trash and you get no benefit from increased runner hand size (Komainu and Sweeps Week).

I think that decks like these are kind of better using Chronos Protocol. Trash their valuable stuff and keep them locked out with Blacklist.

I’m not sure you can beat Kate with this deck, but I haven’t tested a version with Blacklist. I’d try something like:

Weirdly enough i think Kate would be OK. Her killers are mimic and sharpshooter. With sharpie in the bin and blacklist out you could get a lot of mileage. Probably not enough to see competitive play with it though.

Just remember that Chronos Project does nothing if there’s a rezzed Blacklist on the table.

I have been playing this build for a while:

Blackout 1.3

Jinteki: Personal Evolution (Core Set)

Agenda (11)

Asset (6)

Upgrade (3)

Operation (13)

Barrier (4)

Code Gate (6)

Sentry (6)

15 influence spent (max 15)
20 agenda points (between 20 and 21)
49 cards (min 45)
Cards up to Breaker Bay

Deck built on NetrunnerDB.

This is a nice idea actually, will try this out.

I threw this together. I have played damage Jinteki only a little so I don’t really know how good the economy is, etc. Might want to put some Neural EMPs just to get those snipes more often. I hope I don’t get too off-topic.

Chronos Protocol: Selective Mind-mapping

Agenda (10)
1x Chronos Project
2x Clone Retirement
3x Fetal AI
1x Philotic Entanglement
3x The Future Perfect

Asset (8)
2x Blacklist ••
3x Jackson Howard •••
3x Shock!

Upgrade (3)
3x Caprice Nisei

Operation (11)
3x Celebrity Gift
3x Hedge Fund
1x Interns
3x Power Shutdown ••••• •
1x Subliminal Messaging

Barrier (3)
3x Himitsu-Bako

Code Gate (7)
2x Crick
1x Enigma
3x Lotus Field

Sentry (7)
2x Archer ••••
2x Cortex Lock
1x Grim
2x Pup
1x Susanoo-No-Mikoto

15 influence spent (max 15)
20 agenda points (between 20 and 21)
49 cards (min 45)
Cards up to Breaker Bay

Deck built on http://netrunnerdb.com.

EDIT: Maybe -1 archer -1 Caprice Nisei +2 Pop-Up window

I think 2 archer is correct, you want breakers in the bin for blacklist to do stuff. I think cortex lock works a lot better in PE with fetal AI than nisei, although nisei is a great agenda i think being able to trash breakers on the field and from their hand is strong.

@Razalhague is right about Blacklist’s interaction with Chronos Protocol, which is neat but annoying. What other 3/1 to slot in there?

I will never understand the use of Clones in those decks.
@Calimsha and I had our biggest argument over polish Tenin (on R4G), and he was rigth but there, I think the statements I used then are totally valid.

They were about the probability tree of Clones doing less harm than good. They are not making good there.

Esp. with Caprice in.

The clones largely exist to feed archer, and usually you can do well with them clearing grim bad pub.

This is my main concern : no they wouldn’t. Nothing prevent you from being R&D locked before Archer.

You risk getting BP with 3 / more cards in your decks (grim + clones) vs loosing BP with only 2 card, and you run Caprice on top. I would not build like this.

Its a risk yes, not a certainty. Iv scored clone retirement out of hand pretty successfully quite a lot. Iv gotten archers online quite rapidly as well. Nothing prevents these plays happening either, even though there is nothing preventing a lock before you can pull this off.

RP version for the lulz.

Blacklist RP

Jinteki: Replicating Perfection (Trace Amount)

Agenda (10)

Asset (5)

Upgrade (3)

Operation (15)

Barrier (3)

Code Gate (6)

Sentry (7)

15 influence spent (max 15)
20 agenda points (between 20 and 21)
49 cards (min 45)
Cards up to Breaker Bay

Deck built on NetrunnerDB.

Grim + Archer…

Ideally you rez Grim to get the BP then remove it with Clones then rez Archer.

I’d rather Inazuma some Rototurret, it’s done easier, with 2 gearchecks instead of one.

Esp if I play Bako…

Just my point of vue. You risk pratically nothing (a parasited roto) for some kind of same result.

Its not a bad point of view  I quite like the inazuma include. Rototurrent dies if you say the word parasite out loud though. Also thats also a two card combo, just like CR and archer. Hell, Nisei with its tokens spent can be used to feed archer in a pinch.

I think lists like these can make a cool dent in the right meta, maybe not upper tier as there are some shaky matchups, but meta’s where the only killers are mimic or sharpshooter i think shutdown PE/RP with blacklist will have a field day. Probably be a sad panda outside of that.

House of Knives? Almost guaranteed net damage snipes every turn.
Or Gila Hands Arcology for some money, as these decks don’t have a lot of it.
