Stimhack League Jinteki Rd 3

Happy March everyone! Time for the next Stimhack League to start.

To take part, please create or have a Stimhack account (which you don’t need to use, but it gives me a point of contact in case of dispute).

I’ll give an introduction for anyone who isn’t aware of what it is (veterans can skip ahead to section labeled skip to here). You play other people in the league and record your results on challenge boards. You find games by either joining the Stimhack slack, or just creating a game and saying Stimhack League or SHL in the title. Then confirm your opponent is in the league (there has been a problem with non-leaguers joining, please be polite). After playing your game, you record your results on the challenge boards. At the end of the league, the top 4 players will have a 4 person playoff that will likely be streamed, with the winner being crowned champion.

Newer players are welcome, just be aware that this is a competitive league with people who will be netdecking. If that appeals to you, we’d love to have you even if you don’t feel you’re a great player. Anyone who wants to improve as a competitive player is welcome.

You don’t have to play both sides, but it is encouraged and you record BOTH SIDES SEPARATELY.

If either side disconnects, the game is considered to not count. If you feel you were in a clearly winning, feel free to discuss it with your opponent or PM me if they don’t agree. Warning, no one yet has managed to convince me they were in a 100% win situation.

After a couple of complaints in the last Stimhack League about online behavior, I’m announcing that we’re going to follow roughly the ANRPC Code of Conduct. Please be respectful online.

Packs will go legal as they become Tournament Legal on Jinteki. There will be some amount of lag time from release, but I trust the Jinteki crew to keep things updated quickly.

Here is the challenge boards link (if you’re new, you’ll need to make an account, please make it the same name as Jinteki and stimhack):

The password is “sparia4ever” (minus the quotes “”).

The league starts Saturday 3/19 and ends Sunday 5/1.

Good luck and have fun everyone! And remember to contact me here if you have any issues.

I’m glad there is another league so soon. I wasn’t able to play many games last time, and the first league I bombed by playing my first 5 games with an Apex deck. This one ends on my birthday, so fingers crossed!

I signed up for the first time ever!

I am very excited to see how much better I can get by losing to you guys!

I am going to get whooped.

All hail the JNet revolution. Death to Jnet! Long live JNet!

Seriously, this is the pre/during regionals JNet league. People should join and practice for the tournaments that start to get difficult.

I’ll see you guys there. ~_~

Shouts to @SimonMoon for running this again. Plan ahead on your finals date and I’ll see if I can stream

Can’t wait to attempt to make a better showing then last time.

I just took the plunge and joined; time to see how I do!

With any luck I’ll remember to play more games this time. SHL was generally much better than playing randoms on Jnet!

I am interested in playing but I had some questions:

Do you need to hit everyone in the league before the end?

Is there any requirement about playing the same decks from game to game?

How many games do you need to play?

Just joined for the first time - more for good quality practice than anything else. Looking forward to it!

no minimum game numbers

no, you dont need to vs everyone

you can play as much or as little as you like.

you can switch decks at any time, as many times as you like

try to keep it reasonably close in how often you play runner, vs how often you play corp.

New UI, probably still no time to play

What exactly do you mean about tracking sides separately?

He means you report each game individually. If you and I play twice, and you best me both times as Fisk and BWBI (I’m really bad at this game), you report both runner win and corp win separately.

Ah. Gotcha. Knew I was missing something obvious.

Looking forward to playing people.

Does anyone use skype or something during games?

I’ve got my runner deck down pretty well, but I don’t think my Corp deck will quite be up to standard by the time this starts. At least until Jinteki legalizes Palana.

Ok folks, just wanted to pop by and give a greeting since I stopped lurking the board and decided to join for the league. My decks are ready!

I think it might be helpful to say that games will be in one of the two “rooms” on Jinteki, to make looking for them easier. “Competitive” seems like the natural choice.
