Been trying to abuse overmind-library for a few days now; concept is simple: don’t pay money to break ice. Its close, but the economy for installing your initial batch of stuff isn’t there, and the deck can hurt if it takes too long to see memory or a library or something like that. When it does get going, you make 2 runs a turn. The first gains you 2 credits, virus tokens, and a card. The second is usually a run on R&D. Every few turns you dump more hardware onto the table, but when you install the overmind you can dump a program from hand onto the table as well.
I did it with supplier, amps up the whole system, especially with earthrise and memstrips. I’d run d4v1d and then include uninstall, the ghetto tutor for your second overmind/d4v1d. d4v1d is way better than testing. Slap in E3 to really save yourself some heartache (maybe use tyson??)
Admittedly mine was in anarch with quetzal and no LLDS (but it was on the table for testing). This was while NBN was still 100% the jam, so I dropped it because it was just a bit to slow. Now though, especially vs HB it could be the nuts.
without inject and or gameday you’re not going to draw fast enough to use SCF. Doubles without SCF does work pretty well. Eater only is sad-face even with cutlery imo.
Now that I’ve thrashed it’s paper form, I’ll go play it and judge it again.
I’ve been trying something very similar to this to hilarious games that end up not winning :). Major issue was getting enough money to operate, and it didn’t really have much of a burst action as the corp knew what I could and couldn’t get into since I had to dump the hardware the turn before using library/overmind.
Mine didn’t have SecTest/Masanori (which is a great idea I’m going to try) in favour of personal workshops and scavenges, used the influence you’ve spent on sec test on 2x HQI and an e3 instead.
I think its going to be much better once Chameleon comes out.
No blackmail. Its mostly just junk to feed powernap, but hey, 1 recurring credit each run makes vamps nicer. I’ve only played this 2 times though, but I’ve seen it a few times across the table. Seems like blackmail could be quite good.
For now frame job is just hate for the overpowered, played everywhere card called “shi.kyu”
No shi.kyu in my meta right now. But if it becomes a big problem, frame job becomes a lot better.
I had frame job in my doubles deck briefly. I really wish I had the thought to include knights… it makes the deck a lot more competitive than how I was running it.
I kinda hope that Anarch gets a good double this cycle. Shaper got Game Day and Crims get Drive By. If they did get a good one, it would go a long way to making this deck solid.
Also x3ro, how has the lack of SCF and Adjusted Chronotype been in that deck? Is Amped Up enough to fill the gap?
Due to the rapid credit generation (even SoT or deja for power nap, whcih works from 0), you spend less clicks making money, often times I can go 2-3 turns without econ clicking. The occasional loss of a click on a double is less relevant. Amped up does most of the work decompression. I could see slotting 1 of each I suppose, this thing draws unbelievably fast, you see like your whole deck by turn 10 lol.
Heck yeah. Amped Up is probably one of my favorite cards in the game. Looking forward to a future deck using paparazzi and dlr + amped up to mill a bunch of cards and check archives.
I’ve been playing with Eater/Keyhole doubles out of Valencia, and I’m currently 7-1 with it. The deck just makes so much money in burst turns, I love it. I honestly think the only thing it’s missing is 3x Trope when that comes out, as I don’t like Levy shuffling back all the extra copies of cards I Paige Piper out, and being able to Trope back in something like 2x LF 2x Power Nap just seems stupid good.
Yup. I started with the obvious doubles as 3-of (LF, QG, PN), and then season to taste with some number of Singularities and Frame Jobs. Right now, I’m 3x Frame Job, 1x Singularity, as I’m trying out Itinerant Protestors. Not sure how I feel about it yet…IP is either pretty dead or overwhelmingly powerful, with not a lot of middle ground. It did flat out win me a game against a Tennin deck where I was able to steal a Medical Breakthrough, forfeit it, steal a Clone Retirement, forfeit it, and Investigative Journalism for the 5th BP to lock them to a 0 handsize, but that’s obviously the best case scenario.
3x Diesel
3x Dirty Laundry
3x Legwork ••••• •
2x Modded
3x Quality Time
3x Special Order ••••• •
3x Sure Gamble
3x The Maker’s Eye
3x Traffic Jam
3x Clone Chip
3x Prepaid VoicePAD
2x Battering Ram
1x Garrote •••
2x Gordian Blade
3x Leprechaun
2x Magnum Opus
3x Self-modifying Code
You can install your entire rig with a single Leprechaun. Since you want to use SMC to find the Magnum Opus and Leprechaun early, Special Order is included to help find your icebreakers. Since you might end up playing them from your hand, you can get a big discount with Modded. You can also recur SMC with clone chip for more searching power.
You have a bit of multi-access with The Maker’s Eye and Legwork, but when they run out you will have to rely on being able to steal agendas from remote servers. That’s why Traffic Jam is here to prevent fast advancing and to make agendas easier to spot (rather than having to run face down cards thinking they’re 2/3s).
Additional econ and card draw is here to help you get set up before your engine is running. Prepaid can reduce the cost of 21 cards in this deck.
