"Will there be anything else sir?" the Jeeves Thread

So, how do you beat the Jeeves Fast Advance deck that has been born out of nowhere? They run a lot of operations and score for cheap, making them resilant against Siphon and they have all the annoying HB ICE. Thoughts?

Hit R&D hard is my guess. A good lock stifles any HB player anyway, and since they have to protect Jeeves, they have less ice for R&D. On top of that, the fact that there’s a lot of bioroids means you can click through to save yourself cash, meaning most of the clickless credit econ we’re seeing out of shaper/anarch (eg pitch/dumblefork) can make one big run per turn without losing any money.

Shaper beats them pretty easily in the same way they beat most FA decks; Clot to keep them from FAing, lock the remote for scoring. Win in R&D after clearing out HQ. With Anarch, destroy ICE and keep things like Jeeves off the table. If they’re constantly scrambling to rebuild, they have a hard time scoring out. Not sure about Criminal, I haven’t played them in forever.

Latest version of my Jeeves Foodcoats.

I like Assassin a lot right now. I also been paying attention to how much value i get from Jeeves in a game, and I decided it was finally time to retire the BBGs.

Added a 3rd Jeebers, and a Lateral Growth (economy that helps BLC+Operation Jeeves turn)

This list feels good to me.

Is magnet doing work for you?

its a cost effective hard etr that cant be parasited to death so its always 2 cards to faust. yog-able, but who plays yog anymore?

and if you put it in front of an ice thats parasited, they cant just run it to sucker it to death… which is useful for my assassin and heimdall.

its doing good work in this anarch heavy meta. if anarch wasnt as popular, i would probably play 1 viper 1 magnet instead. but right now its a strong card.

if that Bhagat whiz build takes off anarchs at least will be playing yog

it would only be 2 of my 18 ice that yog would get through. not the end of the world. if it does take off, the magnet/viper combo might look more appealing again.

Do you think Architects of tomorrow could be a good ID for operations-heavy Jeeves?

I saw a really cool deck this weekend: RP Jeeves.

Since most of the deck is ICE and assets, it is pretty easy to spend clicks installing. There is a smattering of operation econ (and typically Interns), which will also occasionally trigger Jeeves. Draw 3 after installing a bunch is also a fair play to trigger Jeeves, but feels sub-optimal.

But the real power is that Jeeves makes 4-2 agendas score like 3-2 agendas, which allows the corp to bluff every install into the remote server as a Nisei, NAPD, or Philotic that can be scored next turn from 0 advancements. That enables a lot of never-advance that is expensive for the runner to respond to, which in my mind has long been the strength of the HB glaciers when compared to the RP variants.

Here is my variant:
RP gonna RP

If your strength is never advancing 4/2s, why don’t you play Corporate Sales Team and NAPD?

I play a lot of RP jeeves too actually. its my side project lol

one of them

anyway

3x eli, 2x ichi, 1x elp or ash

alliance jeeves x n

run tech startup (great for sundew too btw. or your 1x dbs.)

have fun.

I fear that tech startup and DBS is a nonbo. Since there is no Paid ability window between “Turn begins” and mandatory draw. Felt for it too tbh.

Are you not running Jackson? or no GFI?

RP is a build that i feel is more dependent on Jackson than average, since it tends to build for a bit longer. I’d much prefer Ichi over Rototurret, but I can’t really afford the extra influence.

Usually money isn’t as big of a problem for me. Often the runner will access while fairly low on credits, so NAPD does a decent job of protecting itself. Fetal AI is closer to what I would consider substituting, but I don’t really want to bother with a 5/2 agenda.

3X TFP/CST/Nisei

3x jackson

or if you want the dbs, which is real nice, i run a viper or fairchild 1.0 instead of 1 of the ice. fairchild is basically yogable-but-not-switchbladeable pup that helps you get to alliance

I do like the DBS in RP, I think it helps a lot and it is such a pain for the runner to trash.

I hadn’t considered Fairchild (1 or 2) but the 1.0 is a 1-inf pup, which is exactly the piece of ICE that I want to see early.

I really like the Batty-trash, which means I want Rototurret or Ichi, and the heavy tax of Eli is also very attractive, but possibly not worth all 6 influence he’s costing me.

I’m not crazy about extra TFP, or additional agendas in the deck in general. I’m happy with the 8-agenda suite that almost always forces 4 steals (or FTE). My preferences have locked me into my current build a bit, so I may need to move out of my Jinteki-glacier comfort zone a bit.

3x jackson
2x gfi
1x dbs

2x eli
1x viper
1x fairchild 1.0
1x rototurret
1x ichi 1.0

jeeves x n on alliance.

if i wanted to keep the 8 agenda suite, i would do this. or cut the dbs and roto for 2nd ichi.

You know, you could use quicksand instead of eli to save influence, also you could then afford ichi with rototurret. Quicksand on a central is good in RP, since they’ll either hit something taxing or bounce off your quicksand and make it stronger. I don’t think knifed is as big a thing, and even if it is, Eli is easily knifed for 1 credit and 2 clicks.
