7-point CI shutdown puzzle thread

PS **
SfMM JH PV GFI*
AD (RO Jackson, Biotic, SfMM 2xJH) **
AD (Interns EC, SfSS EC, AM AD) *
AD (SfSS EC, Biotic, SfSS PV) **
advance GFI *
score EC ****
2x Kaguya **
score PV with 1 counter **
PV counter for SfSS on GFI to win

I think this works, I might have a mistake in there somewhere though.

The puzzle can also be solved assuming that all SFK are in the bin (and/or 1 sfss stuck in the hand)
It is basically the standard combo but an interns has been replaced by BL.

Is it worth slotting a second RO to remove the restriction that EC has to be in your hand when attempting to combo with just 1 AD and 1 JH? Then 1 AD ,PS, JH, (sfmm or BL), 2 agendas would be the minimum requirement to combo.
RO also works well with VLC.

PS ** 1
Install JH *
AD : RO (JH) BL , Intern EC ** 7
sfmm JH JH GFI *8
AD : BL,AM (AD) , Sfk( GFI ,EC) ** 13
AD : sfss EC sfk EC+GFI, RO sfk *15
score EC, take clicks ****
Install PV ***
3x sfk

My solution ended up pretty similar to greyfield’s, probably worse since I’m using RO+SFMM instead of 2 interns and thus costing 2 more credits, but I’ll post it anyway.

SFMM JH PV GFI 1 **
PS 2 *
AD (RO(JH), SFMM(JH, JH), BL) 9 **
AD (SFSS(PV), SFSS(PV), BL) 14 ***
score PV, take back AD
AD (interns(PV), SFSS(GFI), SFK(GFI/PV)) 15 **
SFK(PV/GFI) x2, 15

Ordinarily I’m not one to commandeer a thread to talk about something unrelated, but for those of you interested in puzzling out combo decks post-rotation, here’s where I’m at so far. (And yes, it has a seven-point combo.)

Puzzle 28. No hate on the board.

Thought about it for a bit and decided it is a no go. Can you solve the “intern’s problem”?

Edit (30m later):
Took me almost half an hour, but I think it is doable.

ps 1$ **
mirror -> jh jh ec 2$ *
ad(ro -> ad, bl, bl) 12$ ****
ad(am -> jh, mirror -> jh pv pv, sfk -> ec pv) 14$ ***
ad(sfk -> ec pv, sfss -> ec, sfss -> pv) 15$ **
advance pv 16$ *
take 3rd pv and 3rd sfk from the bin 16$ *
take ec 16$ ****
install pv 16$ ***
3x sfk 16$ !!!

I reckon you can do #28 starting from 3 credits.

Begin 3$ ***
PS 2$ **
SFMM JH JH EC 1$ *
AD(Reuse (7 chaff cards from hand including interns),RO(AD), BL) ** 9$
AD(Interns(JH), SFSS, SFSS) * 8$
Score EC **** 8$
Install PV *** 8$
AD(Interns(GFI), SFSS, SFK) ** 7$
SFK * 7$
SFK 7$

Nice one! Saving a click to install PV on the last pile selecting 3rd SFK instead of recurring it. Great trick.
Now let’s try the hard mode: no Reuse in the deck.

PS 1 **
SfMM (JH, JH, EC) 2 *
AD (RO AD, Biotic, AM JH) 8 **
AD (AM GFI, Biotic, SfMM (JH, GFI, PV)) 14 ***
AD (SfSS, SfSS, SfK) 15 **
advance PV 16 *
Score EC take clicks 16 ****
2x SFK 16 **
score PV with 1 counter, get SfSS
SfSS GFI to win

Wow. I am amazed how many ways are to combo out from seemingly hopeless setups :scream::scream::scream:.

Similar to Labbes’s solution but instead of over-advancing the PV with an extra biotic, I just use sublim and the extra click (originally granted by the 2 SFKs) to intern the GFI the hard way. 10 credits.

PS **
mirror JJE *
AD biotic, RO AD, AM JH **
AD SFSS, SFSS, mirror JV *
score EC ****
intern GFI **
AD SFSS, sublim, SFK **
SFK x2

The solution requires 11 credits to start with, because you dont get the subliminal credit before you play AD.
This can be fixed by swapping AM,mirror and subliminal and interning a JH.

Another solution for 9 credits.

PS 8**
mirror JJE 7*
AD : BL , RO AD , Sfss EC 1**
Install PV 1*
AD : sfss EC , sfss PV , subliminal 1*
score + clicks ****
Interns JH 1**
AD intern GFI,sfss GFI , sfss GFI 0*

You guys are all making this too complicated. Going to go with the simple solution here since it looks like nobody else has done it. You have 1 double card stuck in grip that you need to get rid of, and some spare credits to play an extra copy of biotic labor in the combo to get it out of hand.

13 credits total when you use the 2x SFK trick as well.

PS 1 **
sfmm JH JH EC 2 *
AD (BL, BL, RO(AD)) 12 ****
interns(JH) 12 **
AD(interns(PV), SFSS(EC), SFSS(EC)) 13 *
score EC and take clicks 13 ****
click for a credit 12 ***
AD (interns(GFI), SFSS(GFI), SFK(GFI/PV)) 13 **
SFKx2, score to win.

This is basically why I feel the deck is fundamentally too powerful, yes.

Still, it’s only around for half a year or so…

Puzzle 29. No hate on the board.

During the game I figured I’m one cred short and moved on to lose horribly in the crossfire of siphons and multiaccesses. Could I have done it?

Edit: No sublim in the deck :(. With sublim it would be a breeze, save a cred on playing biotic outside of the combo and put sublim in the first pile, save another on AM for diagnostics instead of RO.

An exact solution for #29:

PS 8**
sfmm JH, EC, GFI 7*
BL 3**
AD : sfss sfss, intern (JH) 2*
score and take clicks 2****
AD: intern PV, sfss, reclamation sfk 0***
3 sfk and win

Reuse (SfMM, AD, CVS, Paper Wall) -8 *
BL -4 **
SfMM JH, JH, EC -3 *
AD (Interns Jackson, BL, RO AD) 3 **
AD (Interns Jackson, SfSS, SfSS) 4 *
Score EC take clicks ****
AD (Interns PV, SfSS, RO SFK) 6 ***
3 SfK to win

Edit: Only works if you can sleight-of-hand the power shutdown.

This solution is missing the power shutdown.

I was scratching my head but didn’t know why…oh well.
