[Blue Sun] Bootcamp Glacier

Yes, exactly. You can rez Adonis for free!

And then bounce it back for nothing.

So where on the power graph is @bblum’s deck now? I have mixed feelings. At first I was losing a lot, because I lacked experience in piloting it. Then I learned and started to win. Then Proco/RDI/Sucker Kate started to pop everywhere and it seems it is very hard to win again. Games are close, but mostly lost.

Ah yes. Oh well, another card goes back in the metaphorical binder.

Just use Isabel to return the breaker bay grid to your hand after rezzing Adonis. You end up spending three clicks a turn to make seven credits a turn.

Or bounce the grid and bounce adonis after it ticks down?

You spelled Melange wrong :stuck_out_tongue:

I think Kate is is a hard match-up for us because we lack the tools to really go after her, so you have to do some net-jitsu to get her to give you scoring windows. But I have a lot of cards that tax her setup in a way that I don’t for say, Andromeda. Stealth or suckers, I’m really banking on putting her corroder to work or hoping she doesn’t have an answer to lotus field (unlikely for stealth)

One game vs @RonZacapa I snatched his freshly installed ProCo and still lost. That doesn’t say much, since I might simply suck, but I feel times are getting dark for BS glacier.

Yeah, the painful part is that I am that guy who always asks if people want to continue, even in somewhat silly scenarios like an unprotected R&D in a non-damage deck. But I was rushing (we were at the 40-minute mark) and he clearly was accessing, because he wins the game if he accesses and I didn’t just put Jackson in my scoring remote… I shortcut the whole process and it cost me. And while I feel like I share some of the responsibility due to not being explicit with the timing window, I also certainly feel like it was poor sportsmanship on his part and gaming the whole system, something that I have very rarely encountered in Netrunner.

I wish that ignorance were the case, but I’m certain he was aware. It was a local player who is on their weekly streams all the time.

Don’t get me wrong… the event and most of the players that were wonderful, it was an absolute pleasure to meet and spend time with the Covenant guys and all the out-of-town folks. I’m not going to let one rotten apple in the bunch spoil my whole trip. But it obviously left a bad taste in my mouth in regards to my tournament performance. (For those that missed the second half of the story in the Leela thread; my first round split due to the Noise/CVS story above resulted in getting paired against my wife in the second round, whom had built her Corp deck ground-up to stomp on my style of Criminal deck. 4 prestige after two rounds in a shortened Swiss tourney [five rounds instead of six] with a 59-player field meant that I had to sweep the remaining three rounds to have a shot at making the cut. No pressure, eh?)

I haven’t played it much against Kate since it became popular to put datasucker back, which probably makes the matchup a bunch worse. Chronos project has been good (going with sam’s build of 2 chronos, 0 corpwar rather than dan’s build of 1 chronos, 2 corpwar, 1 prireq, so it’s easy to find at the right time without spending atlas on it), but by no means an auto win button.

I’m gonna do some testing with blacklist instead of a 2nd lotus field (back down to 9 agendas and keeping S&G), which can be bootcamped for and hoses cy-cy pretty hard. I’m less worried about gordian blade.

Been thinking the same thing is -1 Lotus +1 Blacklist, but those rampant anarchs in the colorado meta have been annoying as well. Any thoughts on the agenda suite after testing? I really do like the 2 pri reqs, but the risk of a random access for 3 points makes me squeamish.

And finally, what do you typically use as a wormhole target? Would falling back onto something like Negotiator for a trash 1 program (shamelessly stolen from @CrimsonWraith’s build) sub be worth it, or is the ETR plenty for the tax?

I’ve been playing Blacklist for a couple days now and it does everything I want and more. The only real drawback to it is that you have to make a second remote to protect it. Against Kate I’ve been using Datapike as a priority since they’re usually committed on CyCys when I rez it, but I’ve occasionally brought out Curtain Wall just as a guarantee. Against Noise or any hint of Parasite I just go straight for Lotus Field instead; even cutting it down to 1 I still somehow find it frequently.

I feel like this goes without saying, but the timing of Blacklist is the only reason why you’re able to get away with playing it. If you play it a couple turns early they can dig for an answer; if they play Levy, then you waited too long. It makes the Kate match-up a lot more tolerable, and almost guarantees a scoring window if they have to burn too many resources to trash it. And then you just Interns it back anyway.

It’s tutorable with Boot Camp, can be allocated usually one piece of ICE, and can be brought back if they don’t take advantage of the window after they trash it.

I’ve been perusing the literatures on Blackmail tonight and I’m sold.

What did you drop for blacklist? I really don’t like losing the second lotus. Am okay losing one tollbooth as long as wormhole is there to replace it. But then I have 1 influence and 1 card slot open…no idea what to do with the 1 influence.

I dropped a hive for an eli (along with your other changes mentioned). It’s not perfect, but it’s working for play testing. Another good substitute might me wall of thorns, though I lean towards eli as a stronger midrange choice even if it is slightly less taxing at the top end.

I’m not convinced on blacklist, but the list is functional

Definitely considering WoT, but would like to fit in Wormhole again as well. Thought about dropping a copy of Hive, but just…ew…I like Hive.

Current ice suit:

3 Curtain
3 Hive
2 Meru Mati

3 Data Pike
2 Lotus
1 Toll

3 Cad

Have 1 influence and 1 card slot left at the moment. I’m pretty set on everything else.

Turn one of your lotuses into the 2nd booth with the 1 influence

Hive is dope, I just don’t have 2, let alone 3, online often enough to really justify 3 copies I don’t think. Though the added consistency is not without value.

Tollbooth v. Lotus field, to me, is probably a meta specific call. I think I agree that tollbooth is the better ice, but it can be real annoying to only have 1 lotus field if it could be completely shutting down a server.

I like my Jacksons for recycling goodies, but honesly, with ebc, playing two is probably excusable if you don’t want to compromise your ice

I’m running that list, -1 Lotus, +1 Tollbooth, +1 Wormhole, -1 Cadu, +1 Taurus. It’s working well.

I tried this when EBC first came out. Tested stuff like DBS, reversed accounts, etc in the slot. But 3 jackson is essential – you can never shuffle back interns too many times.
