Data & Destiny Spoilers

25 influence. Where the hell do you even start?

They keep upping their art game, somehow.

Okay, this is crazy.

I’m liking how Lily uses tags as a depleting resource.

Windfall is interesting. Pushes you away from many events - kinda reverse Oracle May.

The All Seing I is cool, but it’s very, very narrow.

Launch Campaign depends on trash cost - my money would be on two. If so, it’s alright, but really nice in the advertisement ID.

Sync is cool - I’m betting the reverse is that trashing resources costs 1 less. Also, a 40 min size NBN ID with a super relevant power.

Heartbeat shows two things 1) the mini-factions have their own cards, and 2) Having a ton of things in play is a totally viable way to not die. This freaking crazy.

I wonder how many directives Adam has. In Android (the board game) Floyd had double edged directives - i.e. must pursue the case, but get an extra action each turn. If Adam has say, 5 to chose from, he gets a lot of power right their.

The other way Adam could work would be the directives being mini-objectives of some kind. Not sure how that would work out.

Apex is interesting. Face down cards don’t do anything by default. Heartbeat gives some hits that Mr. Virus has uses for them.

Also, I like how he’s not straight immune to meat damage - like some were suggesting - but if he’s got a hold on the network and Heartbeat he’s going to be nigh-impossible to kill that way. I like it.

Sunny I think will be heavily defined by her cards. Why give her the 50 size? Unless Adam’s directives are mostly drawbacks, then why play her?

Probably because her faction cards are bonkers. Also, best flavor text.

Victoria Jenkins is a) awesome, and b)probably sitting next to Haas, Hiro, and the Board. I’m okay with this.

Surveillance Sweep seems mighty frightening, but it’s only truly scary with Ash. Doesn’t directly help kill combos (thank goodness). Most other traces are kinda meh to bid first on.

Also what do you do with those facedown cards for Apex?

2 Link for Sunny… So far that gets you instant Underworld Contacts and Zu doesn’t cost MU. What else? I guess the box will have more toys for her.

I’m not sure he’ll be able to “rez” the facedown installed cards. (Since nothing in his ID card indicates that). I’m guessing they are mostly for his faction cards, like Heartbeat that doesn’t care what the card is.

IKR? I wonder if there are ways to flip them faceup or just if they are “just” fuel for card effects like his console, etc.

From an art perspective, we only see Apex’s card since it has a red border and his icon on the lower right. Guessing that doesn’t count against influence.

Let’s hopesome of sunny’s card are low-influence so that Gheist can import them, since he’ll probably try to be in the 2-link zone because of his breakers!

Surveillance sweep is going to be NUTS.

Enough said.

I always wondered if 2 link was worth not having an ability. I guess its not only ‘so strong’ you get no ability, but also an increased deck size, and…different influence spread.

I’m so excited for this!

And then you trash another Windfall :frowning:

Maybe surveillance sweep will bring some heavy tracing back. In a heavy trace meta 2 link could be really powerfull on its own. I’m still waiting for runner-iniciated traces so that Power Tap can have a reason to be placed on a deck.

And luckily apex can’t have non-virtual resources, that ability + aesops would be so broken!

Very oddly, the board game 404 Law Not Found has Directives (that players draft three of), and the flavour there is that the Three Laws of Robotics were erased and the robots that you play have three new Directives. Directives are the goal of the game, and when one is completed, you get closer to winning. They’re pretty silly, as is the spirit of the game, but it’s a fantastic game and I’d recommend it.

Note that Adam is a bioroid, so my thoughts is that it’s a similar rewrite of the “Three Laws” thematically. As to what they do mechanically, I’ve no idea. The idea that they’re a goal that gives him a benefit when completed is an interesting one, though.
