Seconded. I can make all the best players rage quit like 14 year-old kids who got grounded by their mommies? Yes, please, may I have some more? ![]()
@x3r0h0ur stomped me on OCTGN tonight when I whipped out the Val deck, but then I took it to victory after finding another match. It has some good plays, man. That DLR ain’t no joke, and a combination of Drugs/Peddler/Inject/Campus/Masanori make it stupid fast. Oddly enough, you almost NEED to have Faust on the table and discarding shit just to get value out of your cards.
keep it secret as long as possible. Once I figured it out, it was rush city.
Yeah. There has to be some way, other than constant Blackmail recursion, to bone up that early game.
Depending on your influence…planned assault?
Edit: for blackmail obviously
Hmm. Could do it into Account Siphon. Maybe even cut down to one Siphon for 2x Planned Assault? Not sure how much I like it, but it could work. Would need to free up a slot.
Could go harder on prevention. Disrupter takes care of Foxfire, and takes some of the pressure off of Fall Guy. All that you really need to worry about then is Corporate Town. Drive By?
My deck is mostly a straight copy of @thebigunit3000’s with -1 Medium, -1 Human First, +1 Paparazzi, +1 Day Job. I live the DJ for quick cash, and the extra Paparazzi to see it earlier.
So what are people packing to beat this? Freelancer? Foxfire?
I somewhat can empathise with the deviants who like to touch themselves whilst drinking the salty tears of opponents who just came along to play an interactive game. However I’d like to be capable of tech-ing against it given that it really is obnoxious to play against if you can’t just rush out.
I think people are playing decks that can rush out, which (at least locally to me), is what people were playing anyway.
I don’t think Foxfire works. Sure, it’ll trash a DLR, but you’ve got more of them and generally once you’re milling you have a backup or can find one really easily. Plus, I’m not sure what other decks Foxfire would be effective versus. Freelancer is definitely good though.
One bit of anti-Foxfire tech is to just install all your DLR. It ain’t unique. Actually, I don’t think anything in the engine is except Josh B.
Can’t Fall Guy be used to save DLR in that situation anyway? So against Criminal DLR builds, it’s not even effective if that’s the case.
Every DLR build is criminal
How’s about 2x All Seeing I? Or one and an Archived Memories? Now they can’t cheese or Blackmail.
We actually tried that with @busti at our last gamenight.
Wasn’t effective at all. I even gave him a free All Seein I by queen gambiting a The Future is Now, but it’s clearly not enough to beat valencia. Mainly because there’s a big chance that you’ll either never get your second one, or your archived memories.
(he played 2 All seeing I and 1 Archived Memories in his HB)
Lame. I assume he just uses Faust at that point to get in if necessary.
Maybe the tech is to just econ up, grab a handful of cred, and go to town on shooting their resources in their stupid faces? It sucks, but WNP/FG doesn’t make the resources invincible, just damn expensive.
He was playing HB, I was the cheese lover this game :p.
But yeah, at this point, I was just using Faust.
The main difference between my build and @thebigunit3000 one is that i’m playing a bit more econ and 2 vamp.
I think you really need vamp to beat corps who will just econ-up and try to manually trash the DLR.
Econ fights aren’t a huge problem, simply because a lot of econ right now is asset-based. The only time I’ve struggled to keep resources on the table is versus heavy event econ builds (CI, Yellow Flash). That said, I want to try Vamp at some point, to free up influence for other fun goodies like FIS.
Have you tested it versus NEH FA? How does that matchup go?
I suppose you don’t even need to Vamp them to 0, just down enough not to plow through all your Fall Guys and engine pieces. Ew. These decks ARE stupid.
I’m going to have so much fun! These are the first decks I fell reflect the style MTG would call Prison. Prison is my favorite archetype.
Edit: Well, I guess Headlock might also kind of be Prison. It still lets the Corp play Netrunner, though. Kinda.
